MicroChip Services
Our Microchip Program
Each time you or one of your adopters registers their pet's microchip, you earn a free microchip! In other words, you will never have to pay for another microchip again as long as as all your pets get registered!
The Petstablished Chip:
Petstablished offers 7mmx1.25mm FDX-B ISO compliant microchips, also known as a mini microchip, and can be read by any mainstream/universal scanners. They are currently the smallest chip in the industry, making it easier to inject and less painful for the animal. Our microchips come prepackaged in a syringe, are sterilized, and have a special coating to prevent migration once implanted into the animal.
A minichip is a permanent pet ID. The minichip will last the life of your pet. They are $5.99 each and are sold in packs of 20. We offer special discounts of up to 30% on our chips. To purchase Petstablished microchip you must have an AWO account set up first. You can create an account here. Once your account is created, you are able to purchase microchips within the Buy Microchips section of your account (located under Microchips on the left hand side of your dashboard).
How does a pet get microchipped?
Microchipping a pet with a MiniChip is a simple and extremely safe! A veterinarian or a qualified vet-tech simply injects a MiniChip beneath the surface of the pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a normal vaccination and takes only a few seconds. MiniChips are so tiny that no anesthetic is required.
Why Register Your Pet's Microchip
A microchip is not a GPS locator. When a pet is microchipped, it requires a registration to link that pet to an owner. When a lost pet is scanned, it only shows the microchip number. Without registration to the owner, in the event of accidental separation, it is virtually impossible to reconnect a lost pet with its owner.
How our registry works
No matter what manufacturer your pet's chip came from, you are able to register the chip in our microchip registry. Once a chip is registered the Petstablished database, if the pet gets lost, whoever finds the pet will be able to look up the chip number and find the owner's information on our website at https://www.petstablished.com/microchip_search. We are also a participating registry with the American Animals Hospital Association (AAHA), the largest centralized database for pet microchip lookup in the country. What this means is that any chip regsitered in our database will also show up in a search on aaha.org/petmicrochiplookup as a chip that is registered with Petstablished. This makes it much easier for someone to find the pet's owner if a pet is lost and the pet is registered with Petstablished. Why Microchip and Register my Pet?
If a pet gets lost and is taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian, they can scan the pet (Petstablished chips are compatible with any ISO scanners) to read its unique ID code. This is the number that veterinarians and shelters use to identify your pet and directly retrieve an owner’s contact information from our database, to reunite the owner with his or her pet.
Every year more than 6 million pets are either lost or stolen in the US each year. Registering your pet’s microchip increases the likelihood of the pet being returned to you by as much as 50% and is the best chance of lost pets being returned home in the case of accidental separation.
Ok, so what do I have to do?
Shelters and Rescues:
If you are a member of Petstablished, not only do you automatically get to take part in our Microchip Program, but you can also easily purchase chips through your account with just a few clicks. If you are not a member, but would like to purchase our chips, please contact sales@petstablished.com or give us a call at 855-684-3184 ext. 3.
Every microchip you order gets associated with your organization automatically before we ship them. Once the pet is microchipped, the microchip number must be registered. For shelters and rescues using our software, you can do this by preregistering the chip once you enter in the chip number for the pet, or when you process an adoption in our system. Also, all pets can be registered here as well.
Registry for Pet Lovers (Adopters):
If you are a Petstablished member, you can click here or simply log in to your Petstablished account, go to the Your Pets section, and click Register Microchip. Once registered it will then be listed in our registry database and with the AAHA at microchiplookup.org.
Throughout the site, users will find “help” icons that when clicked prompt instructions on how to use each respective feature, making it easy to learn our software. If more information is necessary, members can visit our tutorials page and watch step-by-step videos for a more in-depth explanation. And of course, if more support is needed, AWOs can contact their dedicated support team anytime between 9:30-6 EST Monday-Friday, 11am-6PM on Saturdays and 2-4 PM on Sundays, with any questions, feedback, or to see a demo of our easy-to-use software!
