Shelter Information

Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit animal rescue. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 1,000 animals in permanent and loving homes. Because we are an all volunteer organization 100% of our funds goes towards the housing, care and placement of our animals. Our Board and volunteers donate their time and resources toward the cause of caring for and finding homes for abandoned animals, eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City, and caring for special needs animals until a permanent or foster home can be found. While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including a complete vet exam, spaying and neutering, (if 5 months of age or older) and testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV). We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic at 390 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn. In addition we have a foster network so that our animals can receive care and attention until we have placed them with a loving and permanent home. All adopters are carefully screened. Volunteers spend time with potential adopters and available animals, to ensure a good match for all. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.

Adoption Instructions

Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. All cats are vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and spay/neutered as part of adoption. We require a donation of $150 per cat. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts. Small Fry is just the tiniest kitty you’ll ever meet, but don’t let her small stature fool you! This little one is full of energy and personality. She’s super playful, curious, and cuddly! In just the few weeks she’s been at her foster home, she’s warmed up so much and really embraced her cat-ness by curling up in laps (when she stops moving for a second), sitting on laptops, head-butting phones (attention on her, please!), declaring that she's never been fed before (like, ever), and exploring every nook, cranny, and high place she can find in 500 square feet. She’ll be great in a home looking for an energetic young cat. For all her big personality traits, she is a gentle soul! She has a sensitive stomach, so right now she’s eating special prescription food. We hope that she’ll be able to transition to regular food eventually, but for now we’re taking it slow. Also, since she’s a tiny thing that gets “under foot” quite often, she’ll be best in a home with patient adults who can be careful not to trip on her. She’s not a big fan of being held, although she’s become accustomed to being relocated briefly from one place (think laptop) to another place (not the laptop). She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Our little Small Fry has a lot of love in her and is just waiting to find a loving, patient home to thrive in! show less
