Meet trusty Anders Tempeh!  This two year old Heeler mix is extremely hansome, smart, friendly, and has a personality that fits the description!  Puzzle games are a must for this dog who loves to explore and sniff out tasty treats. Andy T is crate trained, and uses this as his safe space as he slowly adjusts to the sounds of the big city. With a distinguished look and a sultry strut, this guy is sure to attract a ton of compliments everywhere he goes!  A social ept gentleman, he's a huge fan of the dog park and intuitively adapts his play to whatever his doggie playmate is comfortable with- gentle with puppies, and rough and tumble with dogs his size! Anders is one quick-witted pup who has mastered basic commands like "sit", "down", "crawl", "wait", "place", and "find it"- he is working on additional tricks (i.e. touch, spin, come, leave it, heel) and is eager to learn fast to please his people! This special dude is patiently waiting to find a furever home with a  spacious yard for sniffaris and a family who will give him plenty of attention and keep engaging his eager mind! But beware...he will hoard all socks that are left unsupervised! Are you ready to meet your new sock stealing best bud?! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. Meet beautiful, beaming Bahama! She is one big sweetheart Bahama is smart, energetic, and one big happy pup! This wonderful girl was rescued from the rural south where she spent her days outside so adjusting to life in the city is a bit of a challenge for her, and she'll need a family who is willing to be patient and help her along the way! She is super friendly and is kind and gentle with all she meets- other dogs, kids... even pigeons! While she quickly learned to walk on a leash and make improvements with house training, Bahama would probably prefer a quiet suburb with a backyard of her own! Apply to adopt Bahama Mama today if you think you're a good fit for this bashful beauty!!! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Meet Bubba blue ! This dog is the definition of loyalty.  He loves to give kisses, cuddle up on your lap as if he is a 10 pound lap dog, play with his toys (especially kongs!), and explore outdoors.  He is 4-6 years old, very intelligent, and aware.  He and his foster can barely make it down the street with out getting stopped and receiving comments on how beautiful he is.  Due to his size, he was a bit scary to some so we enrolled him in training camp; which is now complete.  He is crate trained, neutured, UTD on vaccines, and does amazing on a leash.  He would enjoy someone that is active, but due to his size his activity level is average.  He has not yet been cat tested, but has shown no reactivity to them.   ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if its a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. Meet Carmine! Carmine is the ultimate snuggle bug. Having lived a difficult life, in a small cage with not much human interactions, she’s ready to make up for all her missed belly rubs in her new one. Carmine lives for affection and has lots of love to give. She’s doing great with potty training and has been successfully using the wee wee pads while indoors. I believe she’ll be able to be house trained given a bit more time and a set routine. Carmine loves going to the park, taking naps and sniffing around. She has not shown much interest in other dogs, and sometimes does not like small children (she is fine with babies in strollers.) Carmine generally rarely barks! She has no separation anxiety and does very well in her crate while you work. She walks so well on a leash and can walk 10 - 15 blocks with short breaks in between. If you decide to crate her, Carmine does well sleeping in her crate overnight. Her currently eats wet small dog food (one serving for breakfast and one for dinner.) She is so ready to find a furever home where she’ll be showered with love and affection! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Christie is an easygoing dog with a friendly, happy, outgoing personality. She loves life! People, other dogs, walks, cuddles - you name it, Christie loves it. Since her first day in NYC she has been going out for walks, confident, excited to investigate new smells, and entirely unfazed by sirens, cars, or crowds. She likes to say hi to other dogs she meets and is friendly and enthusiastic. She loves people too, and greets everyone by prancing on her back feet. This girl's tail is always wagging! At home, she likes her bully rubbed and rolls over to ask for pets. She shares space with another foster and has never expressed any aggression, even during meal times. She is perfect except for the urine leakage. Her bladder is tiny, so she's extremely easy to clean up after. I think she can be trained to use a pee pad at home. ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. Dashing Dozer!  Dozer is one good boy, saved from euthanasia. He loves to play and hang out with his humans. At about 5 years old, he is still full of energy and has plenty of pep in his step! When he isn’t cuddling, he loves to play with his toys, and explore. He is 4-6 years old and still very puppy like, full of energy.  Dozer would love a big yard to explore and run around in!  He is currently away at boarding school so that he will be well mannered while he transitions into his forever home.  His new owner must go to the school in Central NJ for his last week of training so that you also can learn all of his new skills to have the best success! Although we do not 100% know his back story or why he was left alone in the world as a stray, we are confident that Dozer is a good boy and will do wonderfully in his new home! Falcon (Peaches) is the absolute sweetest, cuddliest little girl who also has a fun, playful, energetic side. She loves EVERYONE she meets and will stop to be pet for anyone (which is often because she's so tiny and cute!). Falcon (Peaches) loves to go for 10-15 minute walks (getting longer everyday) and likes to stay close by you. During the day she likes to play fetch in the apartment or chew on her toys and is so much fun to be around. When she's not playing she likes to curl up by your side on the couch or on her bed and take a few long snoozes. She rarely has accidents and will let you know when she needs to go to the bathroom. Falcon (Peaches) is already adjusting amazingly and I can't imagine what progress a few more weeks will bring as she's already so well behaved. She is truly happy if her owner is around her giving her affection and she is ready to give someone LOTS of love and snuggles back!  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. If you are looking for a best friend, Guinness is your pup. This snuggle bug is a true companion. Since arriving in New York his personality has really started to come out. He is a sweet dog who can be timid at times. He follows directions - although he does not quite know exact word commands he is eager to learn, taking cues and watching your every move. Guinness just wants to be around you everywhere you go. He will often follow from room to room wanting to understand what you’re up to. He is content to nap during the day but loves going outside and enjoys long walks. He gets very excited when he knows he’s going to go on a walk. His tail wags constantly on the walk and he will often look up at you for reassurance or reminders that you’re still there. He walks well on the leash. When arriving home he waits to have his paws wiped off. He also waits to be invited to sit on the sofa too. Guinness is house trained.  He also does not bark at all! I don’t think that he has had much experience with dog toys in the past. He has avoided the one’s we have introduced him to (tennis ball, rubber bone, plush toy, etc.). I believe that he’ll warm up to a toy as time goes on and with the right conditioning. He like the bully stick.  Since Guinness was living on his own in the past, I believe that has made him a very cautious pup. He gets frightened by bouncing balls and will retreat to a safe place in the apartment or directly next to his person. Similarly, while he is friendly and wags his tail with most dogs he’s constantly reading them and would be defensive if he felt a bit threatened. Because of this I believe more dog socialization and some work with a trainer would set Guinness up for the most success around other dogs - if you planned to take him to the dog run or socialize him with other dogs.He is fine with older teenage children but may not understand or may feel threatened by small children. Guinness is a true loyal companion who will bring joy and happiness to his future owner.  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract.
