Meet Angus, a delightful dog whose personality and appearance are reminiscent of an Ayrshire cow, both in looks and demeanor. Angus has led a very difficult life up until now, bearing physical scars that tell a story of resilience and strength. Despite these challenges, Angus shows no emotional scars, especially in his interactions with people, reflecting his incredible spirit and capacity for love. He's a master of the leash, walking with grace and poise, making him a perfect partner for strolls in the park or a brisk walk around the neighborhood. His friendly demeanor extends to everyone he meets, greeting new people with a wagging tail and a happy, gentle spirit. It's possible that Angus's challenging past involved being used as a bait dog or surviving on the streets, where he faced various attacks from other dogs. As a result, Angus is understandably dog selective. He tends to do well with female dogs and those of his own size. In his ideal home, Angus would start out as the only dog, with the possibility of gradually introducing another canine companion that he is comfortable with. Despite his past, Angus's world is a tapestry of scents, and he loves nothing more than to explore and sniff around. He remains docile and soft in his approach, exuding a quiet and soft personality that's like a warm, comforting blanket. Angus is the king of zoomies and bursts into playful sprints that are sure to bring laughter and joy. He is strong so given his aptness for zoomies would do best with kids 7 and up. His playfulness is balanced with his gentle interactions, never mouthy or overly boisterous. Happiness is Angus's default mode, often expressed in an adorable happy dance that's as heartwarming as it is entertaining. His love for treats and food makes him an eager learner, especially enthusiastic when it comes to learning new tricks like 'sit'. Angus loves to be involved, often following his favorite humans around the house, wanting to be a part of everything. Howdy, I’m Bacon!  I’m approximately 55lbs and 2 years old but my foster mom says I’m anold soul. I am known for being an epic snuggler and love being with foster fam which includes my people (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and my St. Bernard foster sister named Delilah.  My perfect day would start with my breakfast (I love food! Especially in an enrichment toy!) rolling on my back in the grass soaking up some sun, playing with my stuffed animals, dinner (did I mention I love food?) cuddling with my humans, going for long walks, and playing tug with my human and dog foster siblings!  I am really smart and catch on quickly; I have not had any accidents in my fosters house and even taught myself the doggy door so I can go out to sunbathe on the back deck. When meeting new people I prefer they come bearing treats so I know they are safe, and I love playing with dogs but need a slow introduction to set things off on the right paw. Once I do, we will be best buddies! A few other things you should know about me:   I’m OK in a crate but my foster parents let me sleep in the bedroom with them because I’m such a good boy.  I have good leash manners and rarely pull but I do feel more confident when my foster sister dog walks with me – what does he do when he is alone?  I looove car rides and will get into the car even when there isn’t anywhere to go! Feel free to take me on any curbside grocery pickups  I will bark when dogs or people walk past the house or of the doorbell rings. (but am able to be called away with the TOUCH cue easily?)  I understand several cues including: SIT, TOUCH, DOWN, OUT OF THE KITCHEN, WALK-WALK, TREAT, KENNEL and the funniest of all FOOT (which means it’s time to move from the pillows to the foot of the bed) I would really love a family that would keep working with me and training me new things so I don’t get bored!  We just started working on: drop it, down and stay (though I did learn that stay means don’t run out the back door when Foster Mom is leaving) My mom says I’m ‘mouthy’ which means: “I have learned to get attention with my mouth, like a puppy!”. By following my trainer’s instructions (If he mouths, immediately disengage to teach him this is NOT an effective way to get attention) my mouthiness has reduced by 90%! But because of this, I may be intimidating to small children and should be in a home with kids who are old enough to follow instructions. My ideal family would have a dog for me to play with, bigger kids, no cats, a yard to sunbathe and run around in, and the desire to help me continue to work on training.  I have been waiting for my people for a while, and although I really love my foster family, I am ready for the next step in my life! Meet Frankie! This girl is a ton of fun! She's up for any adventure you have in store for her. Whether it's a routine jog around the neighborhood or a hike along some trails, Frankie is ready for it. And when it's time to chill and take a break, she's all about the cuddle life, too. While she loves meeting new people, she prefers to be the center of attention, so it's best that she be an only pet. Also, she jumps and loves giving hugs which could knock over a small child, so a home with only older kids or teens is best. However, her love for food means she might sneak a treat if left within her reach. Koko enjoys her walks, sometimes a bit too enthusiastically, pulling on the leash as if she's leading a sled. She appreciates shorter walks, especially if she's had a good play session. Her ideal home would be one where she can enjoy a balance of playful activity and rest, surrounded by a loving family that appreciates her joyous spirit and gentle soul. Her sharp intellect and craving for attention make her an ideal student for further training. Mia's journey to happiness had a rocky start. Initially, despite her endearing personality, she seemed to carry an unshakeable sadness. Even with quality food and extra feedings, her weight didn't improve. Our vigilant team, dedicated to Mia's well-being, soon intervened. Comprehensive veterinary examinations and blood work revealed the root cause: Exocrine Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency (EPI). Mia's pancreas wasn't producing enough enzymes to digest her food, thus she couldn't absorb nutrients and gain weight. Undeterred by the diagnosis, we started Mia on a lifelong medication course, resulting in a remarkable transformation. Mia now brims with vivacious energy, making the most of her days, and contentedly winding down in the comfort of a loving lap. Her monthly food and medication cost is approximately $100-$150, an investment we are prepared to cover for the initial four months. It was paramount to investigate Mia's health struggles, and it's heartening to see her renewed vitality. We're hopeful that there's a perfect home out there for Mia, a home that will witness her overcoming obstacles and reaching her full potential, enriching their lives with the extraordinary love and joy that is Mia. show less
