Canine Castaways Rescue, INC is dedicated to rescuing ALL dog breeds, primarily from kill shelters. We are a 100% NON-PROFIT (501c3) organization that focuses on making Shelby County a NO KILL county! We do this simply to save those others castaway!

Primarily Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois, but will adopt out to any state.
Adoption Instructions
You must fill out an adoption application through our website: www.caninecastawaysrescue.org. The application must be completely filled out in order for us to fully process it. Ensure that any landlords/leasing offices/vets, etc are expecting our call. We will check pet policies for all renters, and vet records for all existing pets in your home. You can expedite this part of the application process by emailing a copy of your pet policy, and vet records to valerie@caninecastawaysrescue.org. The application approval process can take up to 5-7 business days depending on volume. We will contact you for any clarifications needed on your application. We will notify you whether you are approved, denied, or if the dog you are interested in becomes unavailable. Your application will remain on file for 30 days minimum. We operate by appointment only, so please wait for a member of our team to contact you once your application has been submitted.
