Chihuahuas: big on personality, small on size Meet Patricia! Our four year old, adorable little lady with a calm and quiet personality. Patricia made her way to Mostly Muttz from South Carolina about a year ago. While her history is unknown, we do know that Patricia is a very sweet girl once she has had some time to warm up to you.  Chihuahuas tend to wear their personalities and emotions on their sleeves, are intelligent and extremely loyal. Patricia is crate trained and house trained but could still use improvement on leash. She would benefit from a home that will help her continue to build her confidence. We are looking for a home with a fenced in yard and one without children. She became known as Skye by her adoptive family. While loved immensely, her family was unable to keep her and now she’s looking for the right forever home.  Skye has a chill disposition and loves being around her people in the house. She is happy lounging on a comfy couch, playing with tough chew toys, and watching other dogs on television. Yes, she watches TV intently! If she sees activity outside, she will bark to let you know and then grab her favorite toy to meet people at the door.  Skye prefers an environment as an only pet. She’s strong and gentle at the same time. Playful yet low maintenance.  She likes to look out the window and can sleep for hours.  She is able to have free roam or is crate trained if preferred and knows her commands. Her manners are excellent, and no food begging for this girl. With her expressive soft brown eyes and silky gray coat, she will melt your heart!!! No cats for Penny.  PENNY adores people of all ages, although with her energy level she may accidentally knock little ones over.  She very much enjoys the company of other dogs but will need a slow introduction as she is exuberant with a forward style of play, which may leave a confused impression on other dogs. She has the energy of a puppy and would like to have a fur sibling in her new home so she can romp and play and enjoy being a family dog.  PENNY continues to do well on lead but can pull when she sees someone or something she wants to greet, so we are continuing to work in that area. PENNY has proven to be an escape artist, so a fenced-in yard is needed for her.  The most special things that PENNY will bring to you are her sweet personality and her super-cuddle skills. This Boxer-Lab mix came to Mostly Muttz Rescue from one of our southern affiliate shelters. The poor guy had been hit by a car, which caused an issue with his leg. In the care of Mostly Muttz, Pluto was able to receive the medical care he needed and his leg was saved. He still uses the front leg for balance but not so much for bearing weight, so he gracefully distributes his 62 pounds of sleek-black loveliness over the other 3 strong legs. Pluto is not so keen on other dogs or cats. He does love people; both adults and older children. We welcomed Purl to our rescue at the end of August knowing that she was the BEST girl and after three months in foster, we are absolutely sure.  This is what Purl’s foster has to say about her: “Purl is a gem. She is an absolute sweetheart.  Loves other dogs, little shy with people at first  but warms up quickly and then loves with her whole heart.  Purl loves to follow a routine and she sticks with it. She is a gentle, loving, sweet, and quiet girl - truly a real pearl. Like the prize in an oyster. I adore her. Age: 8 years.  Weight: 43 pounds.  Reported: Good with other dogs of similar size.  Looking for a home without children.  The home that adopts Ranger is going to be pretty lucky. This guy is already house and crate trained AND he knows all his basic commands plus some! He still needs a little work on the leash when a scent catches his nose, but he is 100% on everything else! We guess the reason he knows all his commands is because he is a darn smart pup, willing and ready to learn even more fun tricks and commands. Oh, and did we mention that he has a nub-tail!? Who doesn't love a pup with a little nub that wiggles when they are happy to see you. Get those applications in because he won't be waiting around long! SALLY will soar into your heart with these flying ears! She is a very friendly puppy. who loves every dog and human she meets. SALLY loves to play outside and sniff everything. This pup is very sweet, gentle, and easy to please. She loves walks and often stops to roll over in the grass for a belly rub. SALLY will become sad if you use a stern voice to correct her. She doesn't care for wearing shirts and will try to pull them off. SALLY is crate-trained and is happy to play there with a toy. SALLY has been fine around cats.. This girl has a very endearing personality. She is always happy to see everyone. Sally will make a great pet and companion! She is working on potty training and doing well. She walks pretty well on a leash. She can be very loving and very playful. 🐾🐶 Meet Meatball and Tater - the dynamic duo in need of a loving forever home! 🏡 Meatball and Tater are two of the most smiley, happy wigglebutts you have ever met. They thrive on making new friends and indulging in belly rubs. While it would be fantastic if they could find a home together, their individual personalities truly shine when you spend time with them one-on-one. They walk beautifully with Freedom harnesses, adore car rides, and are diligently working with a private trainer to perfect their manners. These pups are simply lovely. Their journey to find a forever home has been filled with challenges. A few months ago in Florida, they faced a tragic situation when their guardian ended his own life, leaving them on their own in the home until they were eventually discovered. A rescue intervened on their behalf and found a wonderful home for them here in Pennsylvania, but sadly, the chemistry between Meatball, Tater, and the other dogs was just not coming together. The adopter had to make the heartbreaking decision to let them go, hoping they could find the happily ever after they so deserve. Currently, Meatball and Tater are receiving the best care and an abundance of love at a boarding kennel. However, their little heads drop when playtime is over, and they have to return to their kennels. These two goofballs previously lived with other dogs, but bonded pairs can be tricky to integrate into an established pack. They've been doing a great job in the boarding kennel, getting familiar with and interacting nicely through fences with their kennel mates. However, the ideal home for Meatball and Tater would be a home with no other pets, or they can be adopted out individually. If you're ready to open your heart and home to these sweet souls, please consider adopting Meatball or Tater. They promise to fill your life with boundless joy, wagging tails, and unconditional love.
