About Fin

Fin (and Tiny’s) Story: I behaved and was good in the hopes that if I made myself worthy, my brother, Tiny and I would be safe. I buried the insecurities I felt because if I acted up or gave the slightest of reasons, Tiny and I would run into all kinds of trouble. We saw the suitcases. And then the boxes. We saw the furniture being taken away. And then our food and water bowls. We had time. Or so I thought. We had time. Until we didn’t. I tried to erase every memory of my previous family, but the memory is still there, somewhere. We were cast offs, owner surrendered. My previous family decided to move into a place that wouldn’t take kids, at least not fur-kids, like Tiny and me. I wasn’t a human kid, I was trapped in my fur-body, and not allowed to keep my family, for reasons I didn’t know. All I was told and was led to understand was that at the shelter we were taken to, we would be safe. We had time. Or so I thought. We had time. Until we didn’t. We had overstayed our welcome. New fur-kids needed our cement slabs. It was time to go. There was no more time. Enter KenMarRescue who welcomed us into their home and now we have time. We have time for as long as it takes to get adopted. We don’t have to be adopted together. Tiny and I will make our new family a happy home. Follow my journey until I get adopted by lucky humans who will appreciate the worth I bring to their lives. Humans who will cherish and take care of me and build a life with me filled with happy future memories. Help me find them, introduce them to me, share my picture, advocate for me. I need your help to keep hope that their is a place for me out there. A place I can call my own. I am Fin. 5y, NM Yorkie + Chihuahua, 9 lbs., full grown, shots + chip + crate-trained at night. Deep down I am a sweet boy. I want to be good. I deserve to be loved. Please give me a chance. *** Adopt Fin, 5y, NM, 9 lbs., Yorkie X Shots+Chip+crated at night. Apply: KenMarRescue.org The way to earn Fin’s trust is treats and baby talk. Fin is learning how to be a good K9 citizen and is counting on you to teach him the skills needed to thrive in life. Fin is looking for a home who can give him lots of time, love, patience, and treats while he settles in, paired with structure, coaching and reassurance. Fin is a sweetheart that would thrive in a quiet, peaceful environment that would provide daily walks and car adventures. Fin is a bonded pair with KenMarRescue’s Tiny.

Adopt Bailey! Puggle blend, apx 5y, NM, 17lbs. Gold and white. Needs an active, seasoned, home owner with a secured yard. Apply: KenMarRescue.org *** Baily is a sweet and lovable boy. He is crazy smart and easily adapts to new surroundings. Bailey was rescued from a shelter where he was categorized as "stray," and when no one came to claim him, his time was up. That's when Ken-Mar Rescue stepped in. Bailey came to us with a perineal hernia which was surgically repaired by our private vet at a cost of over $2,000. Bailey is completely recovered now and ready to be adopted. He is a happy and healthy kid and deserves to have a great family and a wonderful life. Bailey is an active dog that gets along with other playful, friendly dogs. Gentle teenagers or older children in the household would make great playmates for him in order to keep him mentally, socially and physically fit. Bailey would thrive in a patient and loving environment. Bailey is looking for a family to provide long walks and hiking trips to the beach or dog friendly places. Are you looking for an exploring buddy? Maybe a cuddle buddy too? Bailey does well in the crate overnight and enjoys eating socially with his humans. Bailey will need patience and guidance as he gets to know your floorplan, backyard and areas where he is allowed to relieve himself. He will also need YOU to be consistent and take the time to learn how to communicate with him in a positive and patient way so he can continue to grow into a well-socialized canine citizen. If you are interested in adopting Bailey, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at: KenMarRescue.org Ken-Mar Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Thank you for contacting Ken-Mar Rescue and helping to save a life! show less

Happy day! Apply: KenMarRescue.org *** A note from Ranger: People see dogs like me and make their assumptions. They think they know the why of my orphan status. They do not. I am not some insignificant statistic, another dog from the streets, somehow damaged, undeserving of love. I am a dog that has triumphed, despite unsurmountable odds, surviving a brutal, unprovoked and completely unexpected mauling by a dog 10 times my size, which took place in front of my horrified family. The fact my family abandoned me for dead at a local shelter because they couldn’t afford to take me to a vet is something I choose to forget. Instead my story will be one of triumph, a story that demands to be told and deserves to be heard. I am Ranger. 5y, NM Chihuahua, 16 lbs., full grown, shots + chip + crate-trained at night. I am a sweet boy. Please give me a chance. *** Adopt Ranger, 5 yrs, 16 lbs., Chihuahua blend, NM, shots, chipped, crate-trained at night. Apply: KenMarRescue.org Ranger is a joyful, playful little boy who gets along well with other small dogs of his size that are equally as nice. He loves to go for car rides and walks well on a leash. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly all night in his crate, but will enjoy snuggling in bed with you if allowed. Ranger is extremely sweet and would do best in an adults-only, home as he tends to get very curious and involved about the people he loves. Ranger doesn’t require special grooming beyond the occasional bath and brush and once he warms up to you he is your best friend. If you or someone you know might be willing to adopt Ranger, please complete an Adoption Questionnaire at KenMarRescue.org Adults only home OWNERS preferred (gentle older teens ok) with secured yard in the So Cal area please. Apply: KenMarRescue.org and please read the ENTIRE sample Adoption Agreement before submitting an application. *** Chihuahuas are known for being affectionate and social, which makes them a perfect companion to adult-only families. show less
