About Zeus

Zeus and Athena we brought to us by two caring police officers, dirty, starving. After taking them to the vets to get them current on their vaccines we found they were heartworm positive. After getting a few pounds on them, we had them heartworm treated. After several months we had them spayed and neutered and found the treatment worked. They are NEGATIVE heartworm. They will stay on hw medicine for 6 months (which we will send with them). Zeus is a little more of a handful, he is very vocal, because we don't usually get Huskies we didn't understand his talking. My husband is very patient and figured out his ways and play. We are asking for an experience adopter (with huskies). If you are interested in her and have questions, please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once approved we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the friendliest animal transport Rescue Riders Transport

This is a COURTESY LISTING for a pet that is not a Save a Stray rescue. However, Save a Stray will be happy to provide any information on this animal and accept adoption applications at saveastray.org. Thank you for considering adding a deserving pet to your family. From the foster family: Beau is a very special boy . His story is one of thousands of homeless dogs in the U.S. After seeing a video of him on social media , he touched the heart of a very kind lady in Mobile, AL . He reminded her so much of a fur baby that she had lost several years ago . She just got in her car and drove to Houston, Texas to pick him up from the animal shelter without knowing any past history about him . He is a lot bigger and much stronger than she had anticipated. She is also worried that Beau would be too rough with her small dog and may hurt him accidentally. Unfortunately, she is not able to keep him. She is determined to find the perfect home for Beau. He deserves to live out the rest of his life in comfort and love. He will need a strong owner when he goes for walks. He loves to go for rides in the car . He likes to play with stuffed toys . He is crate trained and probably house trained . He knows how to sit and is learning new commands . He must have a 6ft fence because he is very athletic. He can jump very high to reach his toys. He is a champion at playing tug of war! Munching on ice is his favorite treat. He would be best as an only dog until he can be properly introduced to other dogs and evaluated. He needs an owner who has experience with his breed. This pet has been vetted including spay/neuter and vaccinations. Please fill out a Save a Stray adoption form if interested in giving this sweetie a loving, furever home and please leave a contact number for details on adoption requirements. show less

(No the Golden in this pic is not available) Beerce is one awesome sweet pup. He has lots of energy but he is a people pleaser and wants to make you happy. He is treat motivated for training. He already understands not to jump up on us and knows sit. He also will pick himself up in his crate at bedtime and feeding time. Super smart boy we think with his intelligence and his looks he most likely is part German Shepherd and on the smaller side but not by much he still has some growing to do so it’s hard to say how big he will end up but we think probably around 45-55 lbs. He is good with other dogs but does not like to share his food so feeding time will require either crating or in a separate area. He’s not shown any issues with toys or nylabone chews. He is not worried if someone is playing with one he will not go steal it. He’s very curious and wants to be with you and see what you’re doing. He has not quite enjoyed being groomed yet he wants to play with the brush but he will get the hang of it. He is eager when he sees the others being brushed he wants to be a part of that. He’s going to be a great dog for a wonderful family. He would do well with older kids only because he tends to not realize his size (not that he’s huge or even very big) and will knock smaller children down. He is located in East TN and we do have transport available (for an additional fee) to the east coast area as well as the Great Lakes area with our wonderful friends at Rescue Riders! They are the best! We do require an application, vet references as well as a virtual home visit/meet. Please apply at petpath.org show less
