Most of us can agree that so far, 2020 has presented us with unforeseen and trying challenges. If you feel or are starting to feel drained, hang in there. Keep trudging along. But if you need some help keeping your spirits high, Aboo is the one for you. Aboo's a friendly, chill, and affectionate pooch. Being a senior citizen, this perfect little lap dog is as knowledgeable as they come. He's housetrained, crate trained, and great around kids and other pets. Aboo does enjoy some light play, especially when smaller toys are involved, but he would much rather spend his time being by your side. Chaotic energy can make him a little anxious, so the ideal home for this sweetheart is one which is fairly calm. Aboo's currently being treated for heartworms. While reading this may give you cause for concern, there's no need to worry! If there's one thing that you absolutely must know about Aboo, it's that no matter what, his spirit cannot be broken. Much like yourself, I assume. Often, older shelter dogs get overlooked. But we are all deserving of love and this is no different for our K9 companions. If 2020 has got you down and you're in need of a comforting presence, that can bring joy, peace, and stability back into your life, look no further. Apply to adopt Aboo today! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Please note that Alex is FIV+. We encourage anyone interested in Alex to research FIV before applying. The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections. This pet is available for pre-adoption and may not be officially ready for adoption, as it is still undergoing medical treatment. We anticipate that Alex will be ready for her forever home by mid-July. Depending on the medical status, a Meet and Greet may be put on hold until they can safely participate in a meeting with potential adopters. In some cases, this pet may be able to move to its forever home while it is still under the medical care of Dallas Pets Alive. If you are interested in learning more, apply now and one of our Adoption Counselors will discuss the options available so you can bring home your new furry family member! Applications are processed in the order in which they are received; please be aware that this pet may have interested applicants ahead of you. Say hello to Alice! This senior pup is around 5 years old and is as sweet as can be. Her foster mom describes her as joyful and relaxed because of her loving nature and mellow energy level. While Alice loves her foster home, she sure would love a forever home to call hers. Alice is the perfect package - she's housetrained, leash trained and gets along with other animals. She has a fellow pit bull in her foster home, as well as a senior cat, and she gets along well with them both! As for toys, Alice thoroughly enjoys them...maybe too thoroughly, actually, as she tears the stuffing out if no one is looking. Such a silly girl! She's also quite affectionate...a love bug, really. She loves being on the couch with her people and will even try to sit on their lap! She's always up for a good belly rub and her tail is always wagging. An ideal home for Alice is one with older kids because although she's nearly 80 lbs, she doesn't realize her size and needs bigger kids around when she plays. More than anything, this special girl needs a home where she is so, so loved. She deserves it. Could your home be Alice's forever home? Apply to adopt her today!
