About Duchess

My name is Duchess and even though my name sounds like royalty I am not. I love laying on my foster moms desk and looking outside at the exciting world. When the dining room window is opened, I will run from the office window to the dining room window to see what is going on outside! Now my foster family thinks this is kinda funny and that I look like a watch cat. I am very trainable also, I have learned how to play with toys, eat snacks and usually come when called. I would really like to go to a loving home, I have so much love to give to my new family. You can rub my belly while I lay on your lap, or scratch my neck and ears and I will sing you a nice purring song. I have been fully vetted and I am in Tennessee but can be transported to you with no problem at all because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

(No the Golden in this pic is not available) Beerce is one awesome sweet pup. He has lots of energy but he is a people pleaser and wants to make you happy. He is treat motivated for training. He already understands not to jump up on us and knows sit. He also will pick himself up in his crate at bedtime and feeding time. Super smart boy we think with his intelligence and his looks he most likely is part German Shepherd and on the smaller side but not by much he still has some growing to do so it’s hard to say how big he will end up but we think probably around 45-55 lbs. He is good with other dogs but does not like to share his food so feeding time will require either crating or in a separate area. He’s not shown any issues with toys or nylabone chews. He is not worried if someone is playing with one he will not go steal it. He’s very curious and wants to be with you and see what you’re doing. He has not quite enjoyed being groomed yet he wants to play with the brush but he will get the hang of it. He is eager when he sees the others being brushed he wants to be a part of that. He’s going to be a great dog for a wonderful family. He would do well with older kids only because he tends to not realize his size (not that he’s huge or even very big) and will knock smaller children down. He is located in East TN and we do have transport available (for an additional fee) to the east coast area as well as the Great Lakes area with our wonderful friends at Rescue Riders! They are the best! We do require an application, vet references as well as a virtual home visit/meet. Please apply at show less
