About Linus (and Blossom)

Meet our good boy Linus! While Linus can be a bit shy meeting new people, once he gets comfortable, he loves the pets and attention. Linus was born with an eye anomaly; one pupil is larger than normal. But unless you expect him to read the New York Times, you needn’t worry about his vision. Linus’ favorite pastime is being brushed (I know, how lucky!). Maybe that’s why his fur is so soft! You can typically catch him snoozing on the couch, or people watching through the windows all day. Toys and wands are definitely important to this boy! As he gets more comfortable, you can find him snuggled up next to you in bed at night. Linus is a wonderful companion for a work-from-home setting, but he is also perfectly content spending time with his feline companion, Blossom, if their favorite human works outside the home. We plan to place Linus and Blossom together in a forever home.If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please. CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. Astrid is a sweet cat that once she has felt someone out, she will easily warm up to them. When in a cuddly mood, Astrid will seek you out and adores being a lap cat. She has chosen a little ball of cloth and a cloth avocado slice as her favorite toys but will gladly chase a wand toy. Astrid is far more graceful than her brother and doesn’t bite or nip. Both can be found sleeping on chairs, under the dining room table on the chairs, or sleeping under the bed where they feel secure. Astrid’s brother Cecil is the fearless and outgoing one but following his lead she can become more social. They live with a Dachshund who they both get along and play with. She would be a great first cat for someone looking for a social and sweet cat. Astrid and her brother Cecil are bonded and were found together in southern Illinois, now hoping to find their forever home as a pair. Hi! I’m Briar Rose. I have absolutely beautiful, soft long fur. You won’t be able to resist petting me constantly. While I’m a little shy and reserved at first, I purr the instant you pick me up, pet me, or feed me. I love food! I especially love Tiki Cat treats and I’ll meow and get on my hind legs to get closer to that sweet, sweet mush. My sister, Maple, is more outgoing than me but I beat her in playing. She brings out the best in me and I bring out the best in her. We are a good pair and we are both super sweet. This sweet mama cat is practically a kitten herself, but that hasn’t stopped her from being a loving, attentive mother to her three babies. Now that the little ones are getting more independent, Carina’s own playful nature has emerged. She loves to chase after wand toys and catnip mice, and regularly gifts the members of her foster family with the “prey” she’s caught. You can tell from the expression in her beautiful eyes that Carina is an intelligent cat, perceptive and curious about her human companions. She is currently being fostered by a family with young children, and she’s patient and comfortable with kids. Carina is happy to curl up nearby and keep you company while you do dishes or watch TV, and seeks out pets and snuggles more and more as she gets comfortable. Her foster mom will wholeheartedly tell you there is something really special about this girl. Carina is bonded and would be adopted with her kitten Leda, both would be perfect for a home of first time cat owners. Cecil is the kind of cat that sees all time as playtime. He is much less of a lapcat because why stay put when everything is a toy and everyone could possibly play with you? He would love to be in a home with attentive parents and kids that would give him plenty of attention and playtime. When not playing, Cecil is a curious cat who loves to explore and see what trouble he can get into. It is the simple things that bring him joy, such as if there is a bag in sight, Cecil is in and on it. He is far from graceful and as a kitten, he is still a little bitey and loves to talk. Cecil has been in a foster home with a Dachshund who he often plays with and enjoys the company of. He would be a great first cat for someone looking for a social and sweet cat. He is a sweet cat that will endlessly talk to you and wants to be involved with (and the center of attention of) whatever you are doing. He is a very active cat, loving the wand toy and carrying his little pom pom balls around the house. Charlie will live on your lap if you let him but will catch a cat nap wherever is available. Fiddle is the kind of cat that first thing in the morning he is ready to cuddle. Second thing is he will talk to you just to be sure you don’t forget his breakfast; he isn’t a troublemaker but he will try to open containers of his food. Fiddle keeps to himself and is very low maintenance, but when in a zoomie mood, he loves to run across the house, bat his fuzzy balls around like he is playing soccer, or be at your heels to see what you’re up to. He is curious and playful with all of his surroundings. Fiddle is great with children, being gentle and sweet with anyone who wishes to pet him. He takes a moment to warm up but quickly adapts to his surroundings. He isn’t the most graceful cat, but he loves to cuddle and is easily a great work from home lapcat. Fiddle enjoys the companionship of other cats, and he needs another young male cat as a playmate and companion. If you have a young male in need of a playmate, Fiddle may be your guy! If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please. CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home. At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone. Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you! show less
