About Huggins

Helllo from Huggins! Despite his name, Huggins has probably never experienced hugs in his life. Rescued from a puppy mill, this gentleman has been exploited exhaustively. Nonetheless, Huggins is hopeful for a better life, working hard on being social and comfortable around humans since entering foster care. He is slowly discovering the beauty of city life and the exciting adventures that awaits in the great outdoors! Indoors, he enjoy snuggling up against blankets and can be engaged when spoken to slowly, softly and with soft eye contact. Once he trusts you, he'll give you the famous Huggins smile and probably ask for a belly rub! Being a small breed, he is well-suited for apartment living and can climb stairs well. Huggins deserves a second chance at life and YOU (yes, you!) have all the power to provide the lovin’, huggin’ and spoilin’ this shy little guy yearns for! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  [WaldosRescue.org](http://waldosrescue.org/)  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States ##1057226##

Meet Finley. This sweet Catahoula girl just wants to be loved! Her favorite place to be is wherever you are, and she'll happily park herself on the floor somewhere nearby and hang out for hours while you WFH (though she does like to get between you and your laptop occasionally to demand some affection). She loves to follow her human around the house, but is learning to stay when told and getting pretty good at it! Finley is a mellow pup at home and never barks. She loves to go out for long walks, and if you let her, she'll take you for a jog. She's still getting used to the hustle and bustle of NYC, and sometimes gets a little skittish around big trucks and loud noises, but mostly likes to go exploring. Finley has some lingering emotional baggage from a man who wasn't very nice to her (some of us can relate!), and sometimes gets scared when she encounters one she doesn't know in close quarters. Finley makes new friends quickly, and is easily convinced to cooperate with a treat. She recently discovered barbecue potato chips, and thinks they are AMAZING. She is very well housetrained even when she needs to wait longer than usual for her walk and is great about hanging out in her crate when she needs to stay at home on her own.
