#726992 Age: 2 weeks Weight: How this pet arrived: This pet was born in the shelter after it's mother was brought in 4/7/2021. At SDHS:They have received great care and are now ready for their new home! Interested in adopting?: This animal's adoption counselor is committed to helping them find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the counselor directly at: nbrhymes@sdhumane.orgWhy this pet is the one for you:Alysanne is an adorable little roly-poly hamster looking for a home of her own! Hamsters are burrowers! She would love to have a large habitat with deep layers of bedding that she can burrow into! In the wild hamsters dig burrows up to three feet deep! Alysanne dreams of having a space large enough to have a separate burrow for all of her favorite activities (sleeping, eating, and pooping)! She may be small, but Alysanne has a lot of energy! She will thrive in a home where she has various outlets for her energy. It's important to her that she has plenty of space in her habitat to run around, as well as a large wheel to run on, and plenty of safe playtime outside of her habitat with her human. A great way to give your hammy a spacious, but inexpensive habitat is to build a DIY hamster bin cage (google it!). Alysanne is an intelligent creature who likes to keep her mind sharp. She would love a human who can make her plenty of toys, and daily enrichment to keep her entertained! Interested in Adopting?: This animal's adoption counselor is committed to helping them find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the counselor directly at: nbrhymes@sdhumane.orgWhy this pet is the one for you:Charlie and his adorable little beebee Bailey are looking for a home to settle down! This handsome father son duo arrived in a box on our doorstep one fateful morning. Now that they are settling in, Charlie and Bailey are slowly getting used to their human care givers. #728558Age: Mature Adult Weight: 5lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Humane Law Enforcement officer on April 16, 2021.Interested in adopting?: This animal's Adoption Counselor is committed to helping them find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the counselor directly at: sdcadoptions@sdhumane.orgWhy this pet is the one for you: Belly is a sweet little rabbit who is looking for his human soulmate! Belly, like all rabbits, will need a large x-pen/playpen like enclosure with at least 12 square feet of room to stretch out. Rabbits are very easy to litter-box train, and Belly is a smart little bunny! Belly will also need plenty of daily time to explore outside of his pen and hang with his human! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not always enjoy being held/picked up. The best way to bond with Belly is to spend time with him outside of his pen, and shower him with plenty of cilantro, Romaine, and Timothy hay! Belly will let you know when he is happy by giving you a bunny binky (a hop/ twist in the air)! Because rabbits need so much space and aren't easy to hold they aren't an ideal "starter pet". Rabbits usually do best with older children who can respect their boundaries. When Rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans in the same way a dog or cat would. If it's your dream to have a floppy-earred buddy to eat salads with and snuggle (on his level) then Belly may be the guy for you!Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $12 for this vaccine upon adoption.< Primary Color: Brown Weight: 5 show less

#[716180]Age: 12 Years 2 Weeks (approx) Weight: 10lbs. 0.16oz. How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their previous owner on February 2, 2021. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Blaire is a wonderful, energetic older lady. She is looking for a loving home to live out the rest of her years. Blaire loves roaming around, playing with toys, and watching out the windows. She grew up having access to the outdoors, but due to her age, it would be safer for her to be kept indoors. She might enjoy short, supervised leash excursions in a fenced yard, or maybe even her own screened in cat patio! Blaire has some medical needs including hyperthyroidism that will require upkeep. Adopting a senior cat does come with some extra responsibilities. Senior kitties like stability, calm, and they want to do things on their own terms. For this reason, Blaire would do best in a dog free home. Senior cats also tend to be milder than younger cats, providing steady companionship, without the constant need for supervision. However Blaire does love her people and will follow them around. She can be loud so she'll need a family that is okay with her chatting with them. She certainly enjoys telling you her opinion! Blaire would love to bring some joy into your home! She will make sure no lap is cold and no face is without a smile. Her gorgeous coat, curious demeanor, and precious personality would make a great addition to a quiet, loving home. If you're interested in hearing more, click Blaire's "Adopt Me" button and schedule a phone appointment with an adoption counselor! #[668823]Age: ~ 10 years Weight: ~ 64 lbs.How this pet arrived: Bronco was brought in by his Previous Owner on April 23, 2021. At SDHS:He has been microchipped, neutered, and is up to date on his vaccinations. Now he's ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:This handsome gentleman is Bronco! At ten years old, he's got plenty of experience under his collar and is always looking for more! This guy is quite the charmer--he'll approach friends and strangers alike, looking for pets. In his new home, Bronco would love to have a gradual introduction to being home alone. His previous owner reported he could be destructive, he would do best starting off with some shorter intervals of alone time and gradual work your way up! Dogs like Bronco like having a set routine and you can incorporate supervised play with some interactive toys to provide some extra enrichment throughout the day. As far as cats go, Bronco thinks they're fun to chase. And he's not the biggest fan of smaller dogs. He can be picky about his dog friends, that first proper introduction is crucial. Bronco was found to have a heart murmur and our medical staff can answer any questions you may have about future care. This sweet, affectionate guy has excellent house manners, enjoys going for car rides, and isn't slowing down at his age! He loves his tennis balls! Does he seem like the perfect companion?
