About Yeti

Yeti is a young, orange tabby who loves to explore. He’s shy at first, but engages with fun toys and is learning to trust humans. He has made tremendous progress from when he was first brought home, and continues to open up to humans, especially when there’s food involved. Laser pointers are a favorite of this handsome fellow! Despite his shyness, Yeti is very sweet with gorgeous fur and is slowly making progress. He’s previously lived with other cats and would be very happy joining a friendly and playful cat companion. This cat has mild dental disease and will need dental surgery sometime in the near future -- we’d be happy to arrange this upon adoption at a discounted rate, or you can handle it later at your own vet. Let us know if you have any questions.

Asterisk is a curious, social purring machine who makes himself at home immediately. He started purring the minute his carrier met the living room floor and has barely stopped since. He scorned the idea of a small covered safe space to hide in—this brave boy was happily (& purr-ily!) exploring every room in the house the same day he arrived. Asterisk is chatty and loves to be near his humans—he will run up to you if you’ve been away for too long! He will hang out and nap next to you when you’re cooking or working. Sometimes he tries to guess what room you’re going to and will run to get there before you. He is happy being picked up and will gladly purr against you for a few minutes, and then politely wriggle out of your arms when he’s done. Asterisk occasionally wants to play and has become very adept at “killing” a catnip-filled sock (he also sometimes uses it as a pillow—it’s very cute). Asterisk's clear communication skills really stand out on his excellent résumé—you know when he wants to play, when he wants pets (always!), and when he wants food. He is very easy to care for and we think he’d be great around kids and would be very happy with a playful feline friend. This cat needs to be adopted with a friend -- applications for them as a single cat will not be answered. show less

All three are sweet, playful, and very gentle. The two boys and one girl have been with the same foster since they were a week old and are well socialized to humans. Any pairing among the three would work well. All love ball-track toys and wrestling with catnip mice. They’ve recently been joined by a kitten named Dumpling who is happy to even out this trio into pairs. Baykree is a sweet, 3-month old brown tabby girl with classic tabby markings, a little button nose and a slightly startled look on her face. While she loves nothing better than the rough-and-tumble with her brothers, she’s also an independent little lady and will go off by herself for a nap or just to chill. A bird toy stirs her hunting instincts, inspiring her to track and catch the artificial prey and proudly carry around her trophy.  Deli is a blue-grey tabby boy of 3-months who loves adventuring and is always the first to come greet an arriving human. He is a constant companion of his brother Snack, both in play and rest. He has three modes of life: 1) exploring new spaces like balancing on the back of couches, 2) racing around and wrestling with his litter-mates, and lastly, 3) napping hard. He’s usually awake and active at the beginning and end of the day with occasional spurts of activity just before bedtime.  Snack is the mirror image of Deli except for a dot of white at the end of his tail. Like Deli, he’s an adventurous blue-grey tabby boy of 3-months. He spends his time running around and wrestling or catching some winks to refuel for the next game of tag, there is no middle setting. He loves to play with the bird feather toy or the ball tower or simply cuddle on top of a wool blanket.  These cats would be happy to be adopted as a group, but they can also be adopted separately. All of them do need to be adopted with at least one age-appropriate friend -- applications for them as single cats will not be answered. Please note that they may not yet be spayed/neutered -- their adoption fee may be higher to cover their surgeries. show less

Boots is a hot mess with a giant heart. This older, very sweet tuxedo cat was apparently living on the street for the past ten years -- and it really shows! When this guy initially joined us, the wear and tear of his life outside was very apparent -- he was malnourished, sneezing, bad stomach problems and just really dirty! Now that his general health has somewhat improved and he has been brushed and bathed many times by his doting fosters, this gentleman is ready for his own home and family. Boots loves to be brushed and petted, and can be chatty when he wants food or attention, with an endearing meow that sounds like a whispered groan. He will rear on his hind legs to get head scratches, and after you feed him, he will do his best to rub his slobbery fangs on you in appreciation. Boots was shy at first, but has learned to trust those who feed and brush him.  Boots is still a work in progress -- he is in need of dental surgery and a mindful diet to keep his digestion under control. His eyesight isn’t great, but he does have some vision. This fixer upper is a gentle and friendly companion who is enjoying the upgrade to indoor living and we’d be more than happy to discuss his medical concerns and partner with an adopter to ensure that he becomes and stays his healthiest self. This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes. show less

This sweet, cuddly girl walked into a shop in Brooklyn looking like a drowned rat, consumed 4 cans of Fancy Feast and the rest was history. She has since put on some healthy weight with her foster but still loves food just as much as that first day. Caddie was a bit slow to adjust to the indoor life and is cautious of new things, but is by no means shy and doesn’t hide when scared (except for the vacuum monster, but don’t we all?). She’s very courageous and will do mostly anything with some encouragement and patience from her human. Caddie loves to be pet (especially the booty region at the base of her tail) and absolutely lives for cuddling and will immediately find the comfy zone either in between or on your legs. She isn’t a fan of being held just yet but she WILL stretch her arms out to you real tall asking you to pick her up and put her on the bed with you, which is seriously the cutest thing ever. She hasn’t quite figured out the whole jumping thing yet but is practicing with the bed and has noticed the magical Narnia we call window sills -- it’s clear she’s trying to work up the courage to get up there. She’s got this, we believe in her.  She’s still getting used to cohabiting indoors with humans and gets a bit confused between meowing and non-threatening hissing, but her hisses mean no harm and it’s usually because you’re holding her food and she just can’t handle the anticipation any longer!  Caddie is very interested in other cats and we think that she would be happy with a playful and polite feline friend.   show less

Cally and Tarlee are a pair of siblings from Staten Island enjoying their new life in Brooklyn.  Cally is a goofy lovebug and is super affectionate and will climb into your lap at every opportunity. Seriously, EVERY opportunity. The rest of her time is spent playing, looking for toys, or following you around, waiting for a lap to lay on. She absolutely craves human affection, which is super hilarious when you consider that sometimes her greeting is a hiss...a friendly hiss, who knew!? Tarlee is still considering his options, but loving all the toys and treats and slowly deciding that humans are not so bad. He’s also a huge fan of meat tubes and doesn’t mind if you buy his love with a Churu. Cally and Tarlee are the perfect pair because while Tarlee is timid, and slowly learning to trust, Cally jumps in to offer comfort, affection and assurance. The two have just the right dynamic of hyper and outgoing (Cally) and pensive and cautious (Tarlee). If you are able to offer a quiet place for them to get settled, and can be patient as Tarlee blossoms and grows, then these two are for you! For more pictures see their foster’s instagram @bobo_the_foster_dad These two cats are bonded and must be adopted together -- applications for just one of them will not be processed. show less

Charlotte and Millie are extremely bonded best friends who have lived together for years. They are head over heels in love with each other -- always cuddling and grooming each other. Charlotte (orange) immediately jumped on the couch at her foster home to demand pets, while Millie (grey) is a bit more timid and follows Charlotte’s lead. This means that as soon as you bond with Charlotte, Millie will become more comfortable with you! Most times, as soon as Charlotte begins getting pets and scratches, Millie gets jealous and runs over to join. It’s rarer for Millie to approach you on her own until she’s comfortable. These girls are a little older and are very relaxed, although occasionally get a small bout of zoomies in the morning. These lovely ladies are precious and love to cuddle with each other and humans and are perfect companions for working from home. These two cats are bonded and must be adopted together -- applications for just one of them will not be processed. These cats have Mouths on the Mend -- they were rescued with dental issues and are in need of surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we are asking for a larger donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills. We’d be happy to talk more about this -- please submit an adoption application if you’d like to connect. Interested in being a Tooth Fairy for our cats? Let us know! show less
