Requirements to adopt a puppy from the Flintstones litter: - Large dog breed experience - Minimum one adult dog for socialization - Gone for intervals that do not exceed 4 hours (due to puppies small bladders) Wilma was rescued from Memphis Animal Services and gave birth on September 2nd in a loving foster home. She is great with people and dogs of all sizes. Wilma’s litter has been socialized with people since birth and are starting to show their own personalities. This litter of 10 puppies consists of 5 females and 5 males. Although the puppy that you applied for is an available puppy, we are only approving applications at this time. We will pick out what puppy is best suited for each family, as they begin to grow and show us their personalities. Due to the amount of appropriate vaccinations the puppies need to have before adoption, they will be available around November 5th. We will take applications for people who currently do not have another dog, only if they have previous Rottweiler experience and agree to appropriate socialization and training upon adoption. In order to qualify for ALIVE Rescue Memphis's program all of the following steps must be met: •You must be at least 21 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. •Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. •If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. •All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. •Applicant must live within 50 miles of Memphis if interested in adopting and within 30 miles of Memphis if interested in fostering. •Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new pet. •You must allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to ensure that your home is safe for the potential new pet. •You must be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for a pet. •Currently, adoptions fees in Memphis are $275 for a dog over 4 months of age, $300 for a dog under 4 months of age. •We require an additional $75 training deposit at the time of adoption. You will be required to enroll and complete a training class with your new companion at one of our approved training facilities. Once ALIVE Rescue Memphis receives proof of the completed class, this $75 deposit will be refunded. show less

Hi, I'm Hugh! My mom went to assisted living and it left me with no place to go. Thankfully ALIVE Memphis swooped in and gave me a sweet place to crash while waiting for our forever home. I'm a funny but shy guy at first. Although it takes me a little bit of time to feel comfy, a handful of treats, and comfort, and I will be hanging on the couch next to you in no time. I LOVE to snuggle and when I have made a friend with a human my favorite thing to do is to give hugs. I have met other dogs and if they are into playing I get excited and follow suit, but I'm appropriate if they are not into a Hugh playdate. I may have a few moments of play in the house with a toy, but I'm really just content taking long naps on the couch. My foster mom refers to me as the burrito because I love to be wrapped in a blanket. My foster home consists of a wonderful lady who takes care of me and her other three personal dogs. I’m used to a schedule and I’m a good boy on the days she leaves to go to work. I would do best in a home that is on the quiet and low-energy side. A fenced yard versus having to walk on busy city streets would also be our ideal situation. I’m ready to retire and don't need the hustle and bustle of city life, like those other young whippersnappers ALIVE Memphis has available for adoption. If you are looking for a sweet Italian greyhound that just wants a million burrito style naps, and to binge watch Mash with- get your app in now. show less

Hey, my name’s Larry. I guess the best way to describe me is to say that I’m a little guy with a HUGE personality. If you are looking for a dog who likes to lounge around and is low energy-I’m not the dog for you. My foster dad takes me on a 2-3 mile walk each day before we even have breakfast. I also have a large pit bull canine foster sister to play with each day and I still would end every night with a game of fetch if I had it my way. The good stuff about me- I love meeting new people and that includes dogs and cats. I’m all about big, sweet morning cuddles. I listen to my foster dad and I have advanced in obedience training since arriving at his house. I may have not always been so perfect but I’m a fast learner and I aim to please. I know how to walk correctly on my leash and answer to my name. I also know how to sit, stay and go back. And, this is very important, I know what NO means! I was found completely matted and lacking any basic socialization. When I’m uncomfortable and put in a corner I get snappy. I have gotten much better but because of this a home with small children would not be appropriate. I’m also a bit of an alpha dog so although I like other dogs, a home with another alpha dog would be a challenge. I cannot wait to find my forever family who will buy me all squeaky toys and treats. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SMALL DOGS THAT ARE GRUMPY WHEN NERVOUS-PLEASE DO NOT APPLY show less
