About Lion

In order to alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society's physical locations. Please refer to the contact information below to inquire about adopting. Lion is a former stray who was likely once an indoor cat. After several months (as well as a visit to the vet for shots/chip/neutering and against the wishes of my own cats) I let him inside the house. Lion was quite skittish at first, and still is after 2 weeks, but he's acclimated well to the house, my cats and dog, and he now allows petting on his head and will initiate closeness. He also loves toys, treats, cat trees and a warm bed. Lion began using the litter pans immediately and has a good appetite, and he also has made it quite clear he no longer wishes to live outside! Unfortunately, my cats are not fans and I've decided for their sakes, I cannot keep him. I hope to find him a good, solid home with someone who can be patient while he continues to come out of his shell. Dona Slowik
