CINNAMON SPICE, aka CINNABUNS, is ready to bring joy and silliness to her next family! She takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once you've made it to her inner circle she wants nothing more than to plop her whole body across your lap and snuggle up next to you. Cinny’s favorite activity is wiggling around on her back in the grass! She is very affectionate with her people! “She is a cuddler, and in the mornings loves climbing all the way under the blankets to snuggle up next to me. She wants to be part of hugs and will get upset until you include her in the hug,” says her former Foster. She will shine in a quiet, experienced home that can work on her anxiety and can give her time to adjust and who will make sure there are lots of treats in her future. Cinny is crate trained, housebroken, basket muzzle trained, and knows her basic commands (“sit,” “wait,” “go ahead”). Cinnamon is hoping for that storybook ending where love conquers all, and she finally --- finally! – finds that one person who will commit to her forever. If you are an experienced foster or adopter in a home with no young children and no other animals, please consider helping her out. Cranberry Juice goes by Cranberry, Cran or Juice. She's an approx 1-2 yes old pittie mix. Cranberry is a sweet, loving dog, looking for a home of her own! She is shy for the first few minutes of meeting someone new but warms up quickly! She sometimes makes a grumbly sound that's just her saying, "Give me second to decide if you're safe", and if you just squat or sit, toss her a treat and let her approach, within a few minutes she's wiggling and climbing all over you! She quickly made fast friends with every volunteer at the rescue! She is excited when we first see her, but she settles down quickly and knows Sit, Down, Touch a short Stay and Come! We've been doing a little agility too! She can do low jumps, go through tractor tires and jump up on raised platforms! She has no idea how to play ball or other fetch games! She hops into a car, is fine with a harness seat belt and spends most of the ride lying down. She's an active girl that loves going for walks, and likes to dip her toes in a creek! She has seen a variety of people and dogs on her walks. She was initially excited to see other dogs, pulled a little, but she learned that we just look and keep walking. She does get very excited about squirrels but you can get her to refocus for a cookie! She has lived with other dogs and would probably do well with a young, playful dog. show less

He is unfriendly towards any animals near the property that he does not know. Ejay is good kids and people in the home but takes a little bit to get used to outsiders and will bark if anyone enters the home. He would be perfect in a quiet home with a dedicated owner who could work with him on his behavioral issues. He is crate and house trained. Ejay has allergies that require either a monthly shot or daily oral medication along with medicated baths. The allergies cause redness of the skin along with itchiness and once the shot wears off, a slight odor indicating he needs his next dose will peak through. He is very respectful and polite to us, and has a very strong trust with me. When he feels uneasy he clings to me for some balance to ensure everything is okay. We would be willing to help with some of the expense of his allergy medications if needed. They arent that expensive, but we know it’s tough right now, and we just want him to have what he needs. show less

This 5 y/o, 50 lb, eager-to-please girl - Lady Ivy - has graduated her long-term training education and is ready to go into a foster-to-adopt or forever home! She would do best in a home with older respectful kids and adults that will give her the structure, rules, and boundaries that she needs to succeed. Ivy also needs to be your only pet. Ivy is a dog that likes to hang around her people. While this is a very endearing aspect of her personality, whomever is interested in her must also understand that she cannot be given too much affection as she was previously suffering from anxiety and it could resurface. She isn't a highly energetic dog and does well with short walks, so if you're looking for a dog who is low maintenance, Ivy is a great choice and overall, a well-behaved and wonderful companion! As part of the extensive training she’s been receiving, her foster/adopters will also receive multiple handling lessons to ensure a smooth transition into her new home and so she doesn’t lose any of the amazing on and off-leash skills that she has acquired. Ivy’s trainers will continue to keep in touch with whomever accepts her into their lives so that her transition and life with her new family will be successful. Shelly is a captivating 4-year old, 55 lb. girl who is creamy white with brown speckles on her ears, about 55 pounds, with an endearing face, is very smart, eager to please for a food treat, and would love to be your furever pup! This beauty was taken into the shelter as a stray and did not seem to even understand what a dog bed was, how to walk on a leash, or people who wanted to pet her. New to the park experience, Shelly was fearful of tree trunks and insects that fly and buzz. Now that she’s been in foster for a while, she leaps and prances through the park, enchanted by sights and sounds and sweet-smelling flowers. With time and positive behavior training, Shelly is now house trained, knows her basic commands, and is following leash instructions like come close, look (at my eyes), find it (she searches for the treat tossed on the ground), and other safety tricks to keep her mind on her handler. She responds to the safety command of “here, here!” when off leash, expecting a treat of real meat. She is still working on “stay”, but she understands and follows “wait.” She is also quiet and well-behaved in the home. Since Shelly is very food motivated and eager to eat her meals, she gets fed from food dispensers requiring work or smarts to retrieve the food (puzzle bowls/toys, snuffle mats, etc.). Shelly could be the perfect jogging partner as she has a lot of energy to expend and loves to chase balls. In fact, Shelly’s foster mom thinks she could be part of a family with tweens-teens to be pet by and chase balls and run around with, or adopted by active adults who like to walk or jog in the park. Prior to being spayed, Shelly was downright unfriendly toward other dogs, male or female. With positive behavior training, she no longer readily lunges at them, but instead “looks” at her handler for a treat when she sees or hears another dog. However, Shelly should be your one-and only pet, since she is unpredictable toward other dogs and is also very reactive toward small running animals like cats and squirrels. Shelly may try to chase a small animal she sees from a car window, and if a backyard is part of her furever home, it must be securely fenced in. “Shelly is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves, loves, loves to be petted by people, even those she meets on walks,” says her foster mom. “And people often remark on how beautiful she is.” Shelly is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Skye Terrier Mix 3 y/o Female 35 lbs Philadelphia, PA HOUSE-TRAINED: YES CRATE-TRAINED: YES HEALTH: VACCINATIONS UP TO DATE PREFERS A HOME WITHOUT: CATS, DOGS, KIDS Skye is a little 3 y/o, 35 lb. female terrier mix that was saved from euthanasia in Philadelphia PA. This little girl is very sweet and super affectionate, knows her basic commands, is house trained, and crate trained. She loves cuddling, playing with her Kong and other chew toys, and peanut butter! *But* she also becomes very protective of her “person” after she settles in and becomes comfortable and has shown to lunge at and nip/bite others as a result. She is also highly reactive to other animals so she must go to a single-pet home, with no children, and a very experienced owner willing to work with her and provide the behavior training and modification she needs. We know there is someone out there who will see this sweet little girl as the diamond in the rough that she is and show her she need not fear being abandoned ever again. Due to Covid, she was not spayed at the shelter and may also need to have a potential hernia repair done at the same time (according to the shelter vet exam). TONY WANTS TO SPRING INTO A NEW HOME! Ocean County, NJ - At the shelter in New York City where 2 year old 70 lb Tony, fka Leonidas, arrived after being found tied to a pole on the side of the street, the volunteers said, "Tony, after taking a long time to warm up to you has some basic impulse control issues such as jumping. He also does not like being tied up, and can become defensive, which is understandable based on how he was found. Once he knows you, he warms up to you and it can be seen how much he loves people deep down. A quiet home, with minimal interaction with new people where he will have the space and time to do this would be ideal for him. Once he gets to know his people, he will be a loyal friend.” Based on what we've learned about him, we suspect he's been mistreated in the past and, understandably, it takes him some time to warm up to his person (or people) and begin to trust them. With his current foster family, he's really begun to relax in their care. He has made it obvious that he absolutely adores any large dogs being around him and quickly learns from the dogs around him. "Tony is very sweet," they say. "Tony is a happy and loving soul, just scared that someone is going to hurt him which is completely normal. Although he's nervous and confused, he's feeling more confident every day. He has an amazing sense of character, loves to explore and learn. He's come a long way since he first arrived and I believe in him. He learns at an incredible speed and clearly wants to please his people." His foster mom also reports that Tony loves his crate, is well-mannered and perfectly crate trained. Tony does absolutely adore other dogs. He can get a little overzealous being the puppy that he is and annoy some older dogs, but he would benefit greatly from a home with another dog. He knows some basic commands such as sit and wait, but can be snappy with treats if they are not given very slowly and deliberately. He pulls a little on the leash, but is non-reactive (indifferent) to other dogs and people that he passes by - he looks to his trusted person for reassurance and guidance. Since loud noises and sudden movements make Tony nervous, especially if he is in his crate, and knowing he is very protective of "his person", he will be best set up to succeed in an experienced, adult-only home. Tony’s foster family has noticed that he has a high prey drive and could a be a danger to small pets in a home and it would be advised that he go to a home that is adult and large dog only. "Tony's definitely been hurt to the soul," says his foster mom. "He bonds so strongly once he trusts you that I cannot even begin to comprehend how he must have felt when his first owner abandoned him. Now, he's just waiting for that family, that second chance, that can give him a permanent home and love him forever!" OURTESY POST: VIKRAM NEEDS A NEW HOME. PLEASE SHARE🙏** This gorgeous very lively and playful 24 pound Eskie boy is currently located in Central NJ. He just turned 2 on March 1st. He has the softest, most stunning coat. He is currently looking for an urgent placement foster home. Vikram is fully vetted, house broken, crate trained, basic obedience trained and super smart! He would thrive in agility training, and must be the only dog in the home. He does have a grade 1 heart murmur (no meds, very faint per vet), but that does not slow him down. He would be an amazing running buddy, hiking companion or road trip sidekick. Due to a history of abuse by a male, this sweet boy can be a little skittish meeting strangers. Due to his trauma, must be adopted to a female household. True to the breed, he has a high prey drive, dominant streak and is an alert barker. His adoptive family unfortunately did not have the resources to commit to bringing someone in to work with them, and had some trouble with his primal instincts in their yard when he found a bird. His previous foster home felt that this was workable, and saw progress with him very quickly, training out some stubborn behaviors that were never corrected as a puppy. He absolutely LOVES his toys, is food driven, highly trainable and loves water in any form (watch out because he will jump into the shower with you). Anyone interested in this dog should agree to work with a trainer/behaviorist to help him recover from his past trauma and bad habits. He bonds very quickly with his person, and the love is deep!
