This is Colby a Australian Cattle Dog, or simply Cattle Dog, Red Heeler, he is a breed of herding or working dog originally developed in Australia for driving cattle over long distances across rough terrain. Being a working dog, (they use their mouth as a tool) no cats, no young kids, Needs obedience training (sit come stay- does know sit, very smart, food motivated), heâs young, about a year old. Best outcome would be a farm setting. Australian Cattle Dogs are loyal and protective of their families, though wary of outsiders. Besides herding work, they do well at canine sports, including agility, obedience, rally, flyball, and flying disc competitions. Not a pet for apartment dwellers; these dogs need a lot â a lot! â of mental and physical activity to stay happy and healthy, and to prevent bored, destructive behavior. If you have a home with plenty of room to run, and you can keep up with such an active pup, this may be the breed for you! Colby is a medium sized dog, a red short-coated dog, Not Hypoallergenic, Breed Life expectancy is 13 â 15 years, General Temperament: Loyal, Cautious, Active, Energetic, Obedient, Protective, Brave, nippy as this is a trait to herding. Colby is a very loving dog (Pure Breed no papers) He is a handsome classic red speckled coat, he weighs about 40lbs. He is very smart, and independent. He is fine just spending time with you and will bring endless love and happiness into your life on a farm or rural area! He is fully vetted, heart worm negative, current shots, neutered and micro chipped. Heâs good with most people and dogs, but no young kids or no cats.
