Atta does well with all people, but would do better with older children instead of younger. She needs a person willing to teach her how to walk on a leash and introductions with other dogs. Once introduced properly, she’s tested fine with other dogs. Atta has been at the shelter for over 10 months. She isn’t doing well at the shelter and despite her lack of training, she’s an excellent dog! Atta would be an excellent dog for someone who’s willing to be patient with her and teach her. They said it will kill those nasty Varmin but it just takes a while longer than fast kill, but sure enough I will be Heartworm free soon, as long as I am kept on preventives and I should have a good healthy life ahead of me. This is Colby a Australian Cattle Dog, or simply Cattle Dog, Red Heeler, he is a breed of herding or working dog originally developed in Australia for driving cattle over long distances across rough terrain. Being a working dog, (they use their mouth as a tool) no cats, no young kids, Needs obedience training (sit come stay- does know sit, very smart, food motivated), he’s young, about a year old. Best outcome would be a farm setting. Australian Cattle Dogs are loyal and protective of their families, though wary of outsiders. Besides herding work, they do well at canine sports, including agility, obedience, rally, flyball, and flying disc competitions. Not a pet for apartment dwellers; these dogs need a lot — a lot! — of mental and physical activity to stay happy and healthy, and to prevent bored, destructive behavior. If you have a home with plenty of room to run, and you can keep up with such an active pup, this may be the breed for you! Our daughter was coming home from college and saw someone drop Harmon off on the back streets, (we live in the country) she called me to help get him, he jumped right in our car. Since getting him we had him checked for a microchip and had him heartworm tested, no chip and is negative HW. Harmon is neutered, up to date with his vaccines and now microchipped. He is a smart and loving guy, he is great with the other dogs but NO cats. He will crate if you need him or just spend time in the house. Meet Mauser! 3.5 years old (estimated) 62 pounds Spayed Female, fully vetted Beagle/Lab/Shepherd mix Mauser was abandoned at a campsite up in the mountains of East Tennessee. A good Samaritan found her, took her home, and tried to locate an owner. Due to not having an animal shelter in her county, the finder agreed to place Mauser with our rescue while we did some searching. After some digging and microchip tracing, the long story ended with Mauser being signed over to rescue by her original owner. We are now on the hunt to find Mauser the most fantastic family she deserves! Mauser is such a funny girl. She definitely has some hound mixed in, as she catches scents and pays no attention to anything else (haha). She loves to run around in the backyard, and will play-wrestle with her foster mom (she is gentle, but does like to jump around). She does not seem interested in many toys, unless it is to get rid of that terrible squeaker! She wants to play with other low-key dogs her size (please no strong-willed, alpha-type dogs for her). Due to her high prey drive, she needs a no-cat, no small-animal household. We also recommend kids over the age of 12 as she is not a fan of little ones screaming and is not a big fan of being constrained. She is crate trained and kennel trained (keeps her areas squeaky clean, like a lady should). We will require a securely fenced in yard to keep her wandering hound-nose safe (no radio collars or short chain-link fencing). She likes to bird watch and will keep your yard bird and squirrel-free! She would really love to go on long hikes, daily walking adventures, and she LOVES car rides. She could be your very best ride-or-die, life-long companion! Mowgli is a 2 yr old miniature panther (looking) boy! He may look like he's stepped from the pages of The Jungle Book, but he's a house cat through and through. He loves sunbathing, napping, and following you around the house so he can be involved with the daily life of humans. He's much more interested in watching toys and birds than chasing or pouncing on them. He likes other cats but will jump up high if they get a little too active for him. He can be a bit shy at first, but once he's determined that you only want to love him, he's more than happy to curl up at your side and binge some Netflix. If you're looking for a chill dude to keep you company while looking like the coolest cat out there, Mowgli is your guy. Sweet Pepper is looking for a new home. Adopted in 2011 at 7 months old and way under weight at 37 pounds, this dear old engllish sheepdog had 10 years of loving nuture from his adopter. Sadly, she recently experienced a stroke and was admitted to a nursing home. This was not good for Pepper but, she is hoping to find a loving home for her with a nice family who might go the extra mile to spoil her like she has been for all those years. She had the freedom to to roam in a fenced in yard as she hasn't developed much respect for leash. She has a very friendly personality once unleashed to humans and canines alike.
