Because I am so strong, I need a firm hand to help me get my manners under control and work on not pulling so much when I go on walks. I sometimes get mouthy when playing, so I should go to an adopter who understands how to redirect my playfulness in the right way and not get me too riled up. I'm a big guy who doesn't always know my own strength! Despite that, I'm a sweetie pie who loves people and going on adventures. Hi, I'm Tanner! I'm a 2ish year old retriever mix from Tennessee. I'm so excited to be up here in Philly and meet some new people. I'm the goodest boy and I LOVE people SO MUCH. In fact, I love humans so much that I want to be with them 24/7. I don't like being alone very much because I'm really not good at it. My friends here at Saved Me call it separation anxiety but I just call it companionship. I'll be right be your side whenever you need. I'm a good boy who loves cuddles and long walks. I have very good manners except some times I eat things because of my anxiety. But some good behaviorists and doctors should be able to help with that. And I promise I'm worth it!!Tanner needs a home committed to working with him on his separation anxiety who will work with a behaviorist and vet on modifications and medications. He has shown some progress with medication and the use of a Thundershirt but ideally should have a home where he is left alone as minimally as possible. I would do best as an only dog and in an adult only home because I like my space respected. I take a little time to warm up to new people, but once I warm up to you I can be a little goofy.
