About Willow

#698120 Age: 2 years Weight: 6lb, 12oz How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 01/09/2021. At SDHS: Willow has been microchipped, spayed, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now she's ready for her new home! Why this pet is the one for you:This beautiful lady is Willow! She originally entered our care with her young kittens, and has helped to raise them in a foster home! During that time, Willow slowly adjusted to her foster home and began accepting pets from the humans she met. She'll benefit from a calm, quiet environment that will move at her pace. Our adoption counselors can advise you on how to set up a small, quiet space for Willow to spend her first days in while she builds a relationship with her new family and gains confidence. She would most likely do best in a canine-free home, since dogs are pretty stressful for her. Willow also has some handling sensitivities. This beautiful lady will need someone who can work with her, read her body language, and give her plenty of breaks when needed. Because of this, Willow would probably do better in an adult-only home or with older, respectful children. Working with a shy cat gives you the opportunity to build a close, trusting bond unlike any other, and is so rewarding! #711654Age: 5 years. Weight: 56 lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their Previous Owner on December 31, 2020. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Abram is intelligent and driven by the need for speed! Huskies were bred to run while pulling something heavy for miles in polar conditions so giving them enough exercise is no easy feat! The average dog may be happy with 2-3 30 min walks daily , but that won't cut it for this guy! Abram craves adventure and if you don't give him what he needs he'll go look for it on his own! Huskies are escape artist who could give Houdini a run for his money. They can jump over, dig under, or swim around any obstacle between them and a good time. For that reason, having a yard isn't what is important for a dog like Abram. He is a marathon mutt who is looking for an athletic human who has the same compulsion to wake up and GO every single day. If you love to run, bike, Rollerblade, skateboard, or hike, and you are looking for a dog with endurance and energy then Abram may be your guy! If your daily work outs have become stale and you're looking for a partner to bring new excitement to your runs, bikes, or hikes then what are you waiting for? #701833Age: 2 years Weight: 59lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their previous owner on December 19, 2020. At SDHS:Blu has been microchipped, neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now he's ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Blu! He is a high-energy, active guy looking for a loving home to call his own! He gets really excited when meeting new people and doesn't always greet them the polite way. His new home should be prepared to continue his positive reinforcement training. Because of this, his trainers think he would do best in an adult-only home or one with older teens. With having so much energy, he will make a great running or hiking buddy! Blu has a history of finding things to get into when he isn't appropriately mental and physically tired. We think he would be awesome at an escape room, but might decide to practice this behavior in the home. In addition to lots of exercise, Blu should have regular mental enrichment, like Kongs or puzzle feeders to keep him busy. Our Behavior and Training team is looking forward to speaking with you prior to adoption to go over tips for behavior management in the home. And because cats are fun for him to chase, he will need a feline-free home. Are you looking for someone to bring some excitement into your life? Blu might just be the one! #629167Age: 7 years,3 months Weight: 18 lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Previous Owner on January 7th, 2021. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Everyone, get ready to get to know this hunk! This big boy is Boots! Boots is an extra large fella with a sweet personality. He can be pretty shy and nervous, at first, but he warms up with patience and time. His ideal home is a quiet one, with humans that just want to lounge around with him all day. He doesn't like change very much, so a stable environment would be best for him. He can be fairly independent, but he loves getting attention from humans that he has a close bond with. Keep in mind, it may take him some time to get to that point, with someone new. Boots is a clean guy that enjoys being brushed frequently to help with some dermatitis issues. He will also need a few litter boxes, to himself, that are cleaned at least once day! He also prefers wood chip litter. Understandably, he really doesn't like to get his fur dirty. He'll need some help from his new family to lose some weight, so he can fit into his slim, summer collar. Does this handsome cat seem like he would be a good fit? Make an appointment to learn more! #702631Age: 12 weeksWeight: 5.4lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on October 30, 2020. At SDHS:Cackles has been microchipped, neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now he's ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Cackles is a sweet little rabbit who is looking for his human soulmate! Cackles, like all rabbits, will need a large x-pen/playpen like enclosure with at least 12 square feet of room to stretch out. Rabbits are very easy to litter-box train, and CCackles ape is a smart little bunny! Cackles will also need plenty of daily time to explore outside of his pen and hang with his human! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not always enjoy being held/picked up. The best way to bond with Cackles is to spend time with him outside of his pen, and shower him with plenty of cilantro, Romaine, and Timothy hay! Cackles will let you know when he is happy by giving you a bunny binky (a hop/ twist in the air)! Because rabbits need so much space and aren't easy to hold they aren't an ideal "starter pet". Rabbits usually do best with older children who can respect their boundaries. When Rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans in the same way a dog or cat would. If it's your dream to have a floppy-earred buddy to eat salads with and snuggle (on his level) then Cackles may be the guy for you! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 5.3 Age: 0yrs 0mths 12wks show less

#552329Age: 3 years Weight: 58lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their previous owner on January 13, 2021. At SDHS:Caleta has been microchipped, spayed, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now she's ready for her new home! Why this pet is the one for you:This beautiful lady is Caleta! She has a heart as soft as her luxurious fur. Caleta is such a sweetheart and just loves being around people so much. She's still learning how to spend quality alone time and will need a home that will help her feel comfortable with that slowly. Because of her anxiety about being left alone, her new home should be prepared to spend lots of quality time with her for the first few weeks and work up to leaving her for small increments. Like most Huskies, Caleta is a high-energy, highly intelligent gal! She would make a great running or hiking buddy. Because Huskies are so smart, they look for things to do if they get bored and Caleta is no exception. She would do best in an active home that can provide plenty of mental enrichment as well as physical activity. While Caleta enjoys playing with other dogs, she should live in a feline-free home since cats are too much fun for her to chase. This affectionate lady has so much love to give!
