About Wish

#146294Age: 3 years Weight:11 lbs 6 oz How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by a previous owner on December 16, 2020. Why this pet is the one for you:Wish is looking for a new life with a loving family! She is well mannered and will warm up quickly. Wish is affectionate and gentle and we think she will do great in a variety of homes! She took just a few days to warm up after entering our care, so she'll need a smaller room of her new home to herself while she acclimates to a new environment. This lovely girl seeks out attention, even from new humans, and is an absolute sweetheart. Are you ready to bring Wish home? Click "adopt me" to get started! #711654Age: 5 years. Weight: 56 lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their Previous Owner on December 31, 2020. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Abram is intelligent and driven by the need for speed! Huskies were bred to run while pulling something heavy for miles in polar conditions so giving them enough exercise is no easy feat! The average dog may be happy with 2-3 30 min walks daily , but that won't cut it for this guy! Abram craves adventure and if you don't give him what he needs he'll go look for it on his own! Huskies are escape artist who could give Houdini a run for his money. They can jump over, dig under, or swim around any obstacle between them and a good time. For that reason, having a yard isn't what is important for a dog like Abram. He is a marathon mutt who is looking for an athletic human who has the same compulsion to wake up and GO every single day. If you love to run, bike, Rollerblade, skateboard, or hike, and you are looking for a dog with endurance and energy then Abram may be your guy! If your daily work outs have become stale and you're looking for a partner to bring new excitement to your runs, bikes, or hikes then what are you waiting for? #629167Age: 7 years,3 months Weight: 18 lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Previous Owner on January 7th, 2021. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Everyone, get ready to get to know this hunk! This big boy is Boots! Boots is an extra large fella with a sweet personality. He can be pretty shy and nervous, at first, but he warms up with patience and time. His ideal home is a quiet one, with humans that just want to lounge around with him all day. He doesn't like change very much, so a stable environment would be best for him. He can be fairly independent, but he loves getting attention from humans that he has a close bond with. Keep in mind, it may take him some time to get to that point, with someone new. Boots is a clean guy that enjoys being brushed frequently to help with some dermatitis issues. He will also need a few litter boxes, to himself, that are cleaned at least once day! He also prefers wood chip litter. Understandably, he really doesn't like to get his fur dirty. He'll need some help from his new family to lose some weight, so he can fit into his slim, summer collar. Does this handsome cat seem like he would be a good fit? Make an appointment to learn more! #702631Age: 12 weeksWeight: 5.4lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on October 30, 2020. At SDHS:Cackles has been microchipped, neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now he's ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Cackles is a sweet little rabbit who is looking for his human soulmate! Cackles, like all rabbits, will need a large x-pen/playpen like enclosure with at least 12 square feet of room to stretch out. Rabbits are very easy to litter-box train, and CCackles ape is a smart little bunny! Cackles will also need plenty of daily time to explore outside of his pen and hang with his human! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not always enjoy being held/picked up. The best way to bond with Cackles is to spend time with him outside of his pen, and shower him with plenty of cilantro, Romaine, and Timothy hay! Cackles will let you know when he is happy by giving you a bunny binky (a hop/ twist in the air)! Because rabbits need so much space and aren't easy to hold they aren't an ideal "starter pet". Rabbits usually do best with older children who can respect their boundaries. When Rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans in the same way a dog or cat would. If it's your dream to have a floppy-earred buddy to eat salads with and snuggle (on his level) then Cackles may be the guy for you! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 5.3 Age: 0yrs 3mths 0wks show less

#710072Age: 2 years Weight: 67 lbs How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by a Field Services Officer on December 13, 2020. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:This dashing prince is Carter! Carter is an energetic, intelligent pup that is looking for a committed and structured home. He is a working pup, so he looks forward to his future employment. His current expertise is in toy management, but he is considering making a change to exercise coach or treat quality control. He prefers to not be self-employed and you might like it better that way too...Carter looks forward to routine walks and opportunity for consistent exercise, as well as mental enrichment and stimulation. He can solve a Kong toy in record-breaking time, so he might encourage you to get creative! Carter came into our care with a chihuahua buddy. You might have seen him as an extra in the hit movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. When you are tasked with accompanying a celebrity about town, you take stranger danger very seriously. Carter has shown us that he is cautious when meeting new people and in new environments. He has made friends with his patient and respectful caregivers and looks forward to an adopter that will give him the time and space that he needs to adjust to the new home. Carter's ideal home will be with a human who can give him constant serious exercise. He'll do best with sturdy humans who can handle his strength as well as his jumpy displays of affection. In his previous home Carter soared over their 3 foot fence with the grace of a gazelle. While you can't trust him to stay put in a yard unsupervised, you can totally trust him with your heart! If you have pets in the home, our Adoption Counselors are happy to help determine if your furry friends might be a good fit for Carter. We think that Carter would do best with dog savvy, older children. Belgian Malinois are very smart pups who do well with people who understand their breed. If you think Carter sounds like a good fit for your family, speak with an Adoption Counselor today! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 67.125 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks show less
