About Nala

#708931Age:6 years 6 months Weight: 12 lb How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their Previous Owner on December 11, 2020. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you: Nala is a virgo who LOVES her routine. As you can imagine arriving at the shelter has greatly disturbed her routine which has been very overwhelming for her. Regardless, she is a resilient girl who has done her best to open up under difficult circumstances. Nala was pretty shy when she first arrived, but we learned quickly that she just can not resist a good temptation treat! Food is the way to this little pumpkin's heart which has made it easy for us to make friends with her! Once she feels safe and secure Nala is an affectionate girl who seeks out attention. Her love language is quality time and her ideal day would be napping in a sunbeam next to her human while they do uninteresting things like read books or watch tv! Nala enjoys head, neck, and chin scratches , but she needs her human to be able to read her body language and know when she's had enough. Nala will do best in a quiet adult home with a "cat person" who can speak their language. She will consider living with other pets as long as they promise to leave her alone and respect her boundaries. Are you on look out for an independent yet sweet and gorgeous looking kitty? Nala might be exactly who you are looking for! If you want to learn more about Nala, click on "Adopt Me" now. Primary Color: Torbie Weight: 11.3 Age: 6yrs 7mths 1wks

#629167Age: 7 years,3 months Weight: 18 lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Previous Owner on January 7th, 2021. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Everyone, get ready to get to know this hunk! This big boy is Boots! Boots is an extra large fella with a sweet personality. He can be pretty shy and nervous, at first, but he warms up with patience and time. His ideal home is a quiet one, with humans that just want to lounge around with him all day. He doesn't like change very much, so a stable environment would be best for him. He can be fairly independent, but he loves getting attention from humans that he has a close bond with. Keep in mind, it may take him some time to get to that point, with someone new. Boots is a clean guy that enjoys being brushed frequently to help with some dermatitis issues. He will also need a few litter boxes, to himself, that are cleaned at least once day! He also prefers wood chip litter. Understandably, he really doesn't like to get his fur dirty. He'll need some help from his new family to lose some weight, so he can fit into his slim, summer collar. Does this handsome cat seem like he would be a good fit? Make an appointment to learn more! #702631Age: 12 weeksWeight: 5.4lbs How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan on October 30, 2020. At SDHS:Cackles has been microchipped, neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations. Now he's ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Cackles is a sweet little rabbit who is looking for his human soulmate! Cackles, like all rabbits, will need a large x-pen/playpen like enclosure with at least 12 square feet of room to stretch out. Rabbits are very easy to litter-box train, and CCackles ape is a smart little bunny! Cackles will also need plenty of daily time to explore outside of his pen and hang with his human! Rabbits are intelligent and complex animals who do well in families with humans who understand that they are prey animals, and do not always enjoy being held/picked up. The best way to bond with Cackles is to spend time with him outside of his pen, and shower him with plenty of cilantro, Romaine, and Timothy hay! Cackles will let you know when he is happy by giving you a bunny binky (a hop/ twist in the air)! When Rabbits get the space and enrichment they need, they often form deep bonds with their humans in the same way a dog or cat would.
