Bosley is a 1 year-old tri-color pit/lab who is looking to be somebody’s best friend. He is the friendliest and happiest dog in the world. Bosley currently has a great home and used to go to work with his human mom every day, but unfortunately there are now new rules in place that prevent him from coming to work with her. It is a difficult decision for her to make, but would prefer that Bosley be with someone that can provide him a more suitable lifestyle than being home alone all day, which is not fair to any dog, especially a puppy. Bosley is a wonderful dog, loves every single human he meets, loves kids and would like to find a new human that lives an active lifestyle that Bosley could join. When it comes to humans, he has never met a human he doesn't like. Bosley needs to be the only dog in the home, so he will not be placed in a home with other dogs. While he is not reactive and doesn’t lunge at other dogs on the leash, he has displayed signs of not always playing well with others and has shown signs of aggression with his older doggy sibling. Therefore, he will do best as an only dog. Although he loves cats, he plays rough as he is still young and most cats tend to not favor his style of playing. He is e-collar trained, loves swimming, going for jogs, knows how to sit, stay, come, down, etc ... Bosley is still a puppy, so he is high energy. If you are looking for a slow, calm, minimal energy dog, Bosley is not the right match for you. If you are looking for a dog that loves to go for jogs, will play fetch as long as you let him, will go on road trips, camping, etc, Bosley would be perfect, since he has done all of these things with his mom! While he wouldn’t make the best guard dog (he’s kind of a wimp), he has made his home feel very safe by barking when necessary and doing his best to play the part. Meet uber-handsome 7 year-old Buck! 😍 Buck is a rescue favorite who is sadly returning to us for the second time. Sometimes despite everyone’s best efforts, it’s just not the right fit, so we’re determined to find his perfect match and make this his LAST forever home. 💙 Buck loves people and does well with large, submissive, dog-friendly female dogs. 🐶 Cats, small dogs and animals, and babies are a no-go for Buck 🚫 but he does amazing with older kids (12+)! His favorite pastimes are chewing on bones and toys, playing ball, and goofing off outside. He is very mellow when at home and likes to lay his head down on his foster dad’s lap. *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* This incredibly handsome guy is Cricket! Sadly, when we learned about him being at the shelter, he didn’t even have a name, so we named him Cricket. He’s around 4 years old and is a super sweet boy who loooves people and toys, but would be best as the only animal in the home. We need to find an adopter or foster for him ASAP. Cricket was adopted through the rescue, but his current owner is moving and cannot take him with him. His time is very quickly running out. 💔 Will you help him? 🙏 Not only is this stud muffin a big fan of toys, he also lives for going on walks. Cricket gets so excited for his walks that he actually dances around when he sees his leash! It’s hysterical! He does require a lot of space to run and for someone to be loving and patient with him. When he is not out-and-about running around or chewing on his favorite toy, there is nothing more he would prefer than to be a big ol’ cuddle bug! This sweetness will make you want to adopt him today. Seems to have a bit of separation anxiety, but does get used to being home alone. Cricket does require a bull-savvy handler because of his strength and excitability. He is an absolute sweetheart with people and is super trainable, but is leash-reactive and gets animated around other dogs/animals. However, he can easily be redirected. Because he is such a strong boy, would be best in a home with older children since he doesn’t know his own strength. Please help us get Cricket into a safe, loving forever home! Hello everyone! My name is Etta and I am a sweet loving 8 year-old Pittie! My name is Etta and I listen pretty well when my name is called. I’ve had plenty of experience with puppies of my own. Because of this, I am very CARING of my 2 ½ year old foster brother Dallas. He and I gently play together a few times a day, often times playing tug-o-war with the toys, which I am perfectly fine with sharing. If I am done playing before Dallas is, I gently start to tell him I’m over him and may even voice it a little bit, but never get aggressive. I LOVE to sleep on my fluffy bed next to my foster mom while she works during the day. We have a routine down to where if I get up, I typically need to go pee and as long as she listens, I don’t have any accidents in the house. Plus, I have a nice size yard to play in and get lots of exercise there. Walks are great too and will typically listen when told to ignore something, but I do get excited when I see someone or another pup that I want to play with. So, I am working on that! I also love my 17 year-old human foster brother. He will play with me and pet me and let me give him all kinds of kisses! We all usually have play time outside in the evening til we are all pooped out. I even like to lay on my Human Foster Brother and sit on his lap. I don’t get on the couch or beds unless you ask me to. When its bedtime, I will go into my crate no problem and sleep there through the night. It’s nice and cozy! Oh, I also love to go on car rides! We go at least once or twice per day. Starbucks trips for puppaccinos are my FAVORITE! I will climb up into the car no problem, but sometimes need assistance with getting out. I do have a tumor on my back leg, which will be getting removed in August. It doesn’t really bother me much, but it does get in the way of things. For the most part, I’m a pretty chill girl that loves to be by my foster mom’s side. I do bark a bit when I hear noises outside that indicates someone might be there, but I just want to make sure everyone is safe! Other than that, I do howl and bark a little when I want attention or when she leaves me at home, but will eventually settle down. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my forever home! *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* This adorable, smiley boy is 2 year-old Happy. Happy has been in and out of the shelter several times in his young life due to his humans’ lack of experience and training...this is likely to be Happy’s last chance. 💔 If we can’t find him a foster or adopter, there’s a very good chance that he won’t make it out of the shelter alive. PLEASE READ ENTIRE CAPTION FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Happy has been wonderful with everyone at the shelter, but two of his previous families have stated that he can get protective of people in the family. The families didn’t know how to stop that kind of behavior, so they allowed it to continue unaddressed until they decided to dump Happy back at the shelter and now Happy’s life is in the balance. 😔 Happy has never hurt anyone or even come close; he gets defensive and fearful so he just needs a patient, loving family willing to work on his confidence and socialization skills. He doesn’t deserve to languish away at a shelter until he’s euthanized because his humans have failed him. At this time, Happy needs to be the only animal. He lived with a baby in his last home and did great with her 💕, but she was one of the people that he was very protective over, so until he receives more structure and training, older children would be preferable. Happy is currently at Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento. Harley has been staying with his late dad’s friends, but they have no experience with dogs and realize that they’re just not the right home for him. *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* Meet handsome, social, energetic hunk, Hoagie. Hoagie was recently returned to the shelter when the shelter’s foster family failed to get prior permission from their property management company to have him, 😔 so we want to get him back out and into a foster or forever home ASAP! 💙 Hoagie is a solid 51lbs who loves human interaction, head pats and body rubs. He does get very excited when going through thresholds and isn’t afraid to push past to go explore, so he’ll need a bit of guidance to learn to wait for his people before darting out the door. While with his foster family and since being back at the shelter, Hoagie’s done well around some dogs, but has trouble with others, so slow, careful introductions and supervision are needed. Due to his size and exuberance for life, an active home without small children would be best for sweet Hoagie. Please help us get Hoagie into a safe, loving forever home! Hello everyone! My name is Kenny and am a SUPER handsome stud! I wound up at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility because sadly my human family decided they no longer wanted to care for me. I’m not sure why, since I would never abandon them! The wonderful people at Passion For Pitties were so kind to pull me from the shelter and now I spend my days with my lovely foster family. My foster is still getting to know me, but I have settled in quite nicely since arriving home. Below is a little bit more about me: • I’m approximately 9 years old. • Weigh in at a svelte 90 pounds. • Overall my demeanor is quite calm and I’m very well behaved. • LOVE people and am a crowd favorite whenever I’m out in public! • Enjoy nothing more than spending time with my foster family and soaking up their AFFECTION! I will cry if we are not together. Who would have thought that a big guy like me would? • GREAT with all dogs, big and small. Leona’s currently at the shelter and needs to be pulled before her time runs out. 😔 If we can find a committed foster, adopter, or financial sponsor, we can save Leona’s life...please help us help her! 🙏 Leona came into the shelter as a stray in August after getting into an altercation with another dog. We don’t know the circumstances surrounding the altercation but, sadly no one came forward for her. 💔 She’s a bit shy and under socialized, so she’ll need a loving, patient and understanding family to give her the care and support she deserves. Puma is a 3-year-old stud muffin! After being adopted a few months ago, Puma was, sadly, returned to us. Since being adopted and then returned to us, his confidence has taken a pretty major hit, making him very nervous and untrusting of strangers. We don’t know much about what happened during his 2 month-long adoption, but we do know that he endured several significant and stressful changes in a very short time and learned that to deal with scary situations, he can be scary himself to back people off. Puma is NOT aggressive and he doesn’t want to hurt anyone; he just needs to re-learn how to cope and relax in uncomfortable situations. His current foster is doing an AMAZING job helping Puma and we’re confident that with continued training and the right family, Puma will be back to his happy-go-lucky self in no time! We just have to find a patient, loving family willing to put in the effort that Puma deserves to get him there. Puma LOVES balls! He’ll fetch and even drop the ball for you. He also tears toys apart, but won’t eat the stuffing. He goes into his crate with no issues, especially when you tell him to “hit the hay” and once he warms up to you, he LOVES to cuddle and give kisses! One of his favorite things is to have his belly rubbed. Please help us get sweet Puma into a safe, loving forever home! Meet Roscoe. Roscoe is a big gorgeous stud! This boy is handsome, affectionate, will greet you with hugs and kisses and is very people friendly. Roscoe has made such huge improvements since arriving at his foster home. When they first got him, he was skin and bones and barely knew how to walk due to living in a crate most of his life. Roscoe had major skin issues and infections all over his body. He was also afraid of being left alone and would cry. Today, he's gained 20lbs and struts around like he owns the place =) He is goofy and expressive and always wants to be with the family, lounging on the couch and eating snacks. He currently lives with two small dogs and another Pitbull, but is getting more selective with time, so would be best for him to be the only dog in the home. He still has some separation anxiety though and would love someone who is patient and can continue to work on his crate training. His favorite game is fetch and he can't say no to a tennis ball! Unlike the other dogs, he's not into soft squeaky toys. However, his rubber bone is good too! He's a wonderful dog that needs the love and security of the perfect family. Hoping that is yours! This super happy-go-lucky girl is 6 year-old September. September arrived at the shelter as a stray on 9/3/2020, but is safe with us now. When she arrived at the shelter as a stray, she was terrified and depressed, preferring to lay in a corner of her stall and avoid anyone who tried to get her attention. Over time, though, shelter staff earned her trust and saw a much happier, confident pup! She still has a ways to go and she seems to be more nervous of men than women but, considering her transformation while stuck at the shelter, we’re confident that once she’s in a loving home, she’ll come around very quickly! In fact, she has settled in quite nicely with her foster family! While September can live with other dogs and has done great with other dogs at the shelter, it would require an experienced family that can recognize and manage the external stimuli that can get September excited. Otherwise, would be best for her to be the only dog. September has spent two weeks with professional trainers and they have said she is super sweet and one of their favorites. They did not observe any adverse reactions towards people and was super sweet with everyone she interacted with. She loves to play fetch and will drop the toy at your feet when the command “out” is given. She is also doing well with other commands such as sit, stay, come, kennel, etc. Additionally, she is crate-trained as well. However, her absolute favorite thing to do is cuddle! She loves snuggling up to any human nearby and if there is any little space for her to squish any closer to you, she will take the opportunity. Sadly, Shadow’s story is an all too familiar one whereby he was failed by humans. As a result, Shadow was selective with people when he first arrived at the shelter and required some patience with him as he learned to trust again. This adorable, happy boy is 2 year-old Teo. 😍 Teo is not only suuuper handsome, but he’s very polite and well-mannered too! 😇 Teo loves long walks and playing fetch almost as much as he loves treats! However, he’s also totally content napping in a soft, comfy place in the house while he patiently waits for his people to play with him. 😴 He’ll even very sweetly remind you that he’s there by gently resting his head on your lap and gazing up at you with his hazel eyes...how precious is that?! Teo is still learning to trust new people, so all that he asks is that you’re patient and understanding while he gets to know you. 🙏And the payoff is AMAZING, as Teo is about as loving and loyal as they come! 💙 Teo hasn’t had much training or socialization in the past, so he’ll need proper introductions and supervision with other dogs. This sweetheart of a boy is 5 year-old Thor. 💙 He weighs approximately 65 lbs. Thor is a happy-go-lucky dog that loves people and is very friendly. Every morning he gets so excited to see his foster again, that he does a little zoomie dance! Seeing this will make you want to adopt him on the spot! This sweet love just wants to be the center of attention and he loves to go up to everyone for pets. When he wants attention, he will come up to you and put his head under your hand, so that you will pet him. When Thor get super excited, he does like to jump on people, so would do best in a home with older children for now. Thor seems to do best when interacting with large dogs, so no cats or small dogs please. Since he can be territorial over his "person" (toys not so much), an experienced owner would be best to recognize and correct any resource guarding/marking issues. Thor is currently being crate trained, which we would recommend continuing. Although he is not destructive by nature, Thor will destroy any container that has/had food (i.e. trash cans, Tupperware). Thor does not beg for food, but he is an opportunist. If you leave food unattended for 5 seconds, he will devour it! "You snooze you lose" is his motto! He knows the command "sit" and "come." His foster is working on "place," which he knows, but will only comply if there is a reward. Thor’s foster is also working on "gentle" for treats. Thor does excellent with baths, medicine of any kind, nail trimming and great in cars. Short 30 minute walks are perfect for him. Please help us get Thor into a safe, loving forever home!
