About Trevor von Traben
Trevor von Traben is a striking, larger-sized 2 year-old sable German Shepherd. This hunky young man is looking for a compassionate leader to guide him down the path of success. Trevor bounces with happiness when one of his favorite people appears at his kennel door to take him out for a walk. His tendency to pull ahead with excitement is quickly checked with a minor correction. One would think that a dog of Trevor's size and stature would be brave and bold, but this fledgling to the urban environment needs an experienced handler who can show him how to feel safe and comfortable. Once he feels at ease, this sweet and affectionate boy will melt with pleasure, especially if a head rub is involved! In playgroups, Trevor is still too shy to engage with the other dogs and will object to pushy dogs approaching him. This strapping head-turner will thrive in a loving home where he will be given the time to reach his potential and blossom. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Trevor von Traben YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AT OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
