Acer has a pending adoption!! Acer is a sweet, goofy, smart, playful, and very laid back guy. He seems so happy to be in a loving foster home. At first, he was very hesitant to engage with us. He seemed to be trying to figure out who was who, and what we wanted from him. It was like he was afraid he might make a mistake, and we would be angry with him. We suspect he may have had a very tough life, where he was not treated with kindness and love. Little by little, he has realized that nobody will hurt him or be angry at him for making a mistake. As he has learned to trust us, we can tell that Acer wants so much to be a loyal family dog. Right now, we are continuing to work with Acer to learn how to live happily and confidently with a family. When we take him out into the yard, he will leap and run in the most playful way, but then he is quick to run right back to us when it is time to go in. Also, as his confidence grows, we can tell he is ready for training, and seems to really want to learn. He has a few toys that he shows some interest in, but he is still working on understanding how it feels to have his own toys to play with. Acer seems to love children. He is currently in a house with a 10 year old boy, and Acer really likes to go outside and play with him. show less

Ariba is a beautiful, confident female. She is smart and also very affectionate and loving. Ariba bonds very quickly and settles in very nicely. She loves to play ball and teases the resident male. Ariba wants to be the alpha and needs to go into a home with either no other dogs or males only. Ariba did not have leash manners when she first came to her foster home and has improved daily, but she will need continued training. Come meet this girl. She won’t last long. show less

Meet Bailey Sue! She is a very sweet girl; very smart and eager to please her people. She is a cuddle bug, and very calm-natured. She warmed up to the girls immediately, but seems a little shy around men. Bailey and our other GS male have become playmates. She has done great around our family, and friends with younger children. All she needs now is a sweet family to call her own! show less

Cadence has a pending adoption! Cadence is simply amazing! He is a super fluffy bicolor male, who is a total sweetheart and tons of fun! Cadence won over his foster family on the first day. He is well mannered and gets along great with his foster GSD brother, foster poodle sister, and respects the cats. Cadence loves all toys but especially enjoys bringing his family the ball. He is crate trained, house trained, rides well in the car, and is great on walks. Cadence even ignores the squirrels and ducks. This boy would adapt well in most family situations. The only thing Cadence is missing is his forever family. show less

Charley is a smart, fun 7-month-old puppy. She is house trained, eats and sleeps in her crate, rides well in the car, and has good house manners. She is a happy girl who loves to play (tug of war is her favorite) and also likes to cuddle. She is good with her GSD foster brother, her 13 yr. old foster poodle sister, and the two resident cats. Charley was surrendered to an animal ER because she needed expensive, life-saving surgery due to an intestinal blockage (Charley ate something she shouldn't have.) GHGSDR was alerted to her situation and took ownership of Charley so she could have the medical treatment she needed. Charley won over her foster family immediately. She has made a full recovery, and is now ready to find her forever family! show less

Hi! My name is Jericho. I am a sweet boy who loves people, and cuddling on the couch with my head on my foster mom's lap. That's my favorite! I also get along well with my GSD foster siblings, although sometimes they do not want to play quite as much as I do. I recently lost one of my back legs, but that has not slowed me down one bit! I am fully healed and moving around great. Hope to meet you soon! My name is Polly. I am a very pretty long haired GSD. I am as soft and as sweet as I look. I came into GHGSDR as an owner surrender. My previous mom just didn’t have time to spend with me. I am very well behaved. It just seems to be in my nature to obey and be a good girl. Since I am still young, I still have a lot of puppy in me. I am energetic without being overly rambunctious so I definitely benefit from long walks. I would also be a great jogging partner if someone is interested. Hi, my name is Skipper! I kind of have a little "skip" in my walk. As you can see from my pictures, I am missing my left front leg. When this wonderful rescue picked me up, I was dragging my bad leg, and it hurt a lot. They helped me get rid of the dead weight, and now I am running around full of life! I love to play fetch, and I am a very smart boy; my foster person tells me that all the time. I love to cuddle, and keep getting told that I am not a lap dog. I don't believe them, I fit very nicely on a lap. I am learning lots of fun stuff, and getting ready to move to my forever home. Sophie Belle is a very smart dog who LOVES to play fetch! She knows sit, down, place, shake, can close doors, speak, can target and play dead (Bang). She is crate trained, and house trained. She is extremely high drive and suffers from separation anxiety as well as storm anxiety. She will do best in a home where the owners are active and can take her along for the ride. She loves to go on a daily run! She is great on a leash, and with people, but doesn't like to have other dogs in her space. She is skittish of the unknown and sometimes scared of loud noises, so she needs lots of love and patience. When it rains, she will go to her kennel. She gets CBD oil 30 minutes before storms and she will remain calm. She will play fetch until you can't throw anymore. Sophie Belle is a gorgeous dog, just looking for the right family. show less

My owners decided to give me to this great group because they did not have time for me. They are First Responders and have been very busy this past year. Although I don’t take much work, I guess it’s good that I find myself looking for a new home. You seeI am a "velcro dog"... all I want is to be right next to my person!
