Siamese beauty Brookie is one quiet, mellow and friendly cat. She has a half tail and when she wags it and looks at you with her blue eyes, she looks irresistibly cute and you just want to pick her and give her a hug. She has been rescued from outdoors but behaves as though she were born and living indoors all along. Brookie gets along with other cats. She has not been around dogs. She purrs and desires pets.  On some occasions, she enjoys playing with a wand toy or being held for short periods of time. Brookie will do better in a quiet home. She could be good with children over ten years old. Brookie eats a breed specific diet which keeps her coat beautiful and healthy. She has been vaccinated for FVRCP, flea treated and dewormed. Davy  is a very handsome orange and white  6 month old kitten.  We are still getting to know him. He is a quiet boy so far.  Davy is looking for a patient, experienced cat parent who will help him become more confident and engaged around humans.  The ideal home for him will include adults and older teenagers who love animals and are ready to welcome this sweet kitty into his forever home. Elf hopes the new year will bring a forever family! Playful, assertive and handsome, Elf is a great entertainer. Elf is quite active and requires a fair amount of playtime; he has a particular love for anything feathery. Elf is clever and would probably do well with clicker training or treat puzzles. Elf has a habit of overstimulating and needs experienced cat people to help work with him on this, for this reason he is not ideal for a home with children. Frankie has a resilience and zeal for life that will capture your heart. She is so much more than her origin story but to understand where she is today, we have to acknowledge how far she has come. Frankie was shot with a pellet gun and some of the pellet fragments were lodged into her spine. Despite great efforts and surgery, Frankie remains semi-paralyzed in her back legs. She is undergoing daily physical therapy to stimulate her muscles, which she enjoys and cooperates with, especially if treats are involved.  Despite her therapy, it is likely she will never walk normally again. This does not slow Frankie down in the least! Wind up a toy and watch Frankie go go go! She zips around with the zoomies like any cat, and chases toys and shadows like a pro. Frankie likes to join her foster Mom on the couch or climb up into her cat tree. Nothing stops this adventurer! Except maybe bedtime with her person, she loves to share the bed or couch.    Caring for Frankie requires some experience with cats. She will need to continue her low-level physical therapy routine. Frankie can't totally control when she pees or poops. To prevent leakage and to avoid clean-up, her bladder is expressed three times a day. Any potential adopter will need to understand, learn and commit to properly caring for Frankie's needs while understanding they may change in the future. Frankie eats out of a slow feeder to help keep her weight at a healthy level.  Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This trio of garden cats would be happy hunting and lounging in a cozy backyard. The tuxedo and tortoiseshell are girls, and the all black cutie is a boy. They are not social with people or suitable to live indoors, but they work, live, and add a bit of whimsy to your life outside. They are great hunters. These three were TNR'd as kittens in October of 2019, and have been living along with a few other cats in a backyard since then. There are quite a few cats in this yard, as well as indoor cats in the home, and so we're hoping these three can continue to live and hunt outdoors in a new forever-yard. In the past, they have run away from a small dog and may do better in a yard with no dogs.   These three cats are not owned by The Dancing Cat. Havana is a very sweet older male Russian Blue mix. He is a stray in a residential neighborhood in Martinez, the north-east bay area. He's calm, talkative, and very friendly. He stays by his humans' side for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He doesn't stray far and it is always easy to find him. No one knows his history. People say he has been around for a long time with no home. Neighbors who know him and feed him would like to see him find a forever home where he can live out his senior years. Havana might prefer to be an only cat. This has prevented him from being adopted by a few families in the area. He once went to the veterinarian to have a scratch cleaned, and after that he lived indoors for a little while to heal. He used his litter box with no problem.  He may be happiest as an indoor/outdoor family member, or he may settle comfortably into an indoor life (he'll let us know!).   Havana is not owned by The Dancing Cat. Iris is a gorgeous girl with a heart even more beautiful. Her long fur commands attention and her green eyes mesmerize. Beyond being a stunner she is sweet and interested in people. If you want a gentle companion who will stay near you once she acclimates, this is the cat for you. Iris struggles a bit with change and needs plenty of time to acclimate to a new space. Iris would thrive in a quiet home and she may be happiest as your only pet.  Iris does not use a litter box, this is a behavior that despite much effort has not resolved. In the distant past she has used a litter box but will not use one anymore. The Dancing Cat is searching for a fospice (foster + hospice) home for a very special cat. Jonas, a five-year-old tabby, enjoys cuddling for hours on end and long walks to his food bowl. It may take Jonas a day or two to truly warm up to his humans, but once he does, he will not leave their side. He enjoys being no further than a few feet from his humans at all times, often following them throughout the house. Jonas is very caring and protective of his humans. If they decide to sleep in on a weekend, Jonas may wake them up to check that they’re okay. If they work for too long, Jonas may come get them and guide them to the couch. Jonas is not very playful, and toys don’t generally hold his attention for very long. If you are open to being the forever this boy deserves for as long as he has, please apply. Jonas has an inoperable tumor in his abdomen and his time here may be weeks, months or maybe even a year. He eats a prescription diet, is on prednisolone to slow the progression of the growth, and is very easy to care for.
