You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ready for Foster to Adopt HomeMajor is a 4.5 year old, 58 pound purebreed English Bulldog. Major lived most of his life with his elderly owner. A few months ago, his owner became too frail to care for him and Major was surrendered to a local shelter. After several attempts to find the right home for Major, the shelter reached out to SVPP for help. Major is beginning to settle in with his foster family, but he really needs a permanent home. Major is a sweet, housetrained boy who LOVES to be with his people. Because he has lived alone his whole life, he is not suited to live with other dogs or cats. Major wants to be the love of your life! Like all Bulldogs, Major does not need much exercise, but he does enjoy a couple daily strolls, playtime with stuffies and other toys, and he really likes going along for rides in the car! We are seeking a Foster to Adopt because Major will need assistance through another home transition, and, like many bullies, he has eye and ear issues that will require some medical intervention to resolve and manage.  High quality, fear free training will be needed for Major as well as medical intervention. He needs a family who is familiar with and loves Bulldogs and is ready to help a wonderful dog whose life has had more challenges than he can handle alone. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Say hello to this dapper young man, Master (Bruce) Wayne! Named for his beautiful long-haired tux, and dashing bowtie collar, this boy is all dressed up and ready to dazzle his new owners. Bruce is an exceptionally outgoing cat - he loves affection and isn't afraid to curl up on you. He loves belly rubs, rolling around in his cat tree, and seeking out a high place to take a nap. He does well with people, children, and other pets (after a brief introduction period). Master Wayne was rescued as a kitten last year but wound up back in our care after developing a severe food allergy. He is currently receiving treatment and has made a great recovery. He requires a strict diet so he may not be suited for homes with other pets who free-feed. He currently requires medication daily, but doesn't notice anything slipped into his food ;) making for one of the easiest cats to medicate we've ever seen! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet as Apple Pie!Rosie is a 12 pound, 15 year old Chihuahua mix. Rosie aka, Rosie-Posie, Grandma Rose, Rosie-Girl, Rosita is the definition of cute companion pup! She is good natured, super healthy, gentle, intelligent, loving and affectionate. And, as her photos show, she is exceptionally photogenic! She loves kids and being around groups of people, especially when everyone is petting her. While she LOVES her people, Rosie is independent enough to leave alone when needed. She is a great apartment pup! Rosie is pad trained, but will also let you know when it is time to go out. Rosie enjoys relaxing in the sun, snuggling under her blanket, taking short walks on leash and in stroller, going on driving adventures (great co-pilot), exploring nature, parks. While she is beyond her more active years, Rosie still likes adventures and will still wag her tail, tap her paws, and howl with excitement! Rosie requires little grooming and has learned to stay in the tub when she's getting bathed. She needs to be dried with a hairdryer and prefers low-heat settings. It's also important to clean all areas of her body to prevent skin infections. Because her vision is not what it used to be, Rosie will benefit from a predictable space, especially at night. She sleeps well in her crate with an ex-pen and pads to help her know where she is when it gets dark and shadowy. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Valentine!Valentine is a Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is approx. 3 years old and weighs 50 pounds. Sweet Valentine was found tied to a pole near a trail in Union City. We don't know why she was abandoned, but we do know that she definitely lives up to her name, Sweet Valentine! This lovely girl is very people friendly, she is housetrained, crate trained, and knows a wide range of commands, including sit, down, stay, sit pretty, spin, shake, and she picks up new commands every day! Valentine loves to work on her training in the house, where she is very polite, does not jump on counters, chew on anything she shouldn't, or bark at outside noises. She prefers to do her business at home, so generally does not poop or pee on walks. While she loves walks, 30 min or so a day is plenty for Valentine, though she is ready to go for a drive and explore wherever her people take her!   While she has already proven herself to be an amazing dog, Valentine does need to keep working on her leash walking, as she gets very excited about seeing new dogs, cats or squirrels, so ongoing positive reinforcement training is highly recommended. Any dog to dog introduction must be done slowly and carefully to ensure both dogs are comfortable and happy throughout the greeting process. Valentine is NOT suited to a home with cats and is not recommended for a home with small dogs.
