Amber came to us with a group of feral kittens, we were able to get them all fixed with rabies vaccines. We were keeping them at our property, every time our daughter would come outside Amber would cry for her, so one day she picked her up and brought her in the house. She was NOT feral at all, she loves to sit with you, used the potty box and is a very sweet girl, so we brought her back to the vet to get her tested for Felv-FIV, she is negative so we got the rest of her vaccines. Atta is located in Winchester Tennessee. She can be transported to you. My name is Atta. I am a American Pitbull terrier. I have been at Animal Harbor for around 4 months now. I am going to be spayed soon and then I will be ready for my new family. The thing to know about me is that i do need a family who do not have any children. Quite honestly a home where there are no children is ideal for me. I am not tolerant of loud or obnoxious behavior. I love to chase a ball but bringing it back is not my specialty. I do love attention and running around in my run. However, I am not friendly with other dogs or cats. I am not sure when my family will come but I hope soon. This darling, sweet natured guy is Bailey. He is a little over a year old, about knee high and is about the bestest boy ever. His former owners didn't bother to take care of him and when they found out he was heartworm positive they dumped him in a high-kill shelter and walked away. His soulful eyes and sweet personality was evident even through the bars of his cage so we decided to make the investment in getting him well so he can find his next - better - family. Thanks to a very charitable lady, Bailey has been treated for heartworm and is now ready for his happily-ever-after. He is already neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped and now it is time to get cracking on a new home so this boy can start to live his best life! BOOMER is so sweet he will make you forget chocolate exists! Age: 9 months young Breed: Border collie/Australian Shepherd mix Size:about 30-35lbs He’s very smart and highly trainable. He is shy at first but warms up quickly. He will sort of sniff you and be weary but then when his curiosity gets the best of him and he stand it anymore he makes friends with you very quickly. A fenced area would be good but if you take the time and walk him and bond with him on a leash and give him time to know you are his family a fence will not be needed but he cannot be off leash until he is comfortable and trust you. If you do have a fence and your fence is a chain link you cannot leave him outside unattended because he knows how to climb a chain fence or kennel. If you have a wooden privacy fence or other type he will likely do pretty good. He wants to be with his people and loves to cuddle on your lap. Boomer is socialized with other dogs and has a moderate to high energy level. He is crate trained and will pick himself up when it’s bedtime or time to eat. He’s a great pup and will make his future family so happy. He is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. Cletus is an eleven-month-old pittie mix pup, yes pup, a whopping 83 lb. puppy! Cletus came to Animal Harbor after being neglected by his first owner. A caring family member stepped up to get him the help and care he needed, so they got him into our shelter. Cletus had spent most of his time chained up in the backyard prior to coming into the shelter. He has never gone without food and water, but he was not given much one on one attention or training, and for that reason, he needs some extra time, patience, and training. What he lacks in manners, he makes up for in heart. What a loving and affectionate boy he is! He is one big cuddly teddy bear for sure. He paws at you to get your attention and to be continuously petted. We can definitely see that he is trying to make up for lost time! With loving care, positive feedback training, and consistency, he is sure to mature into a perfect companion. To be a big boy, he sure has a high pitched voice, so you better watch out for that! Cletus is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccinations. Constance is a gorgeous fawn colored six month old pittie mix. Constance is such a little fighter, and lucky for her a group of construction workers witnessed her being dumped on their rural job site, and instantly brought her to us. We feel strongly that she was either dumped because she was one of an unwanted litter, or was bought or gotten as a young puppy, then dumped when she grew up. You will not find a more uniquely colored pup. She is a gorgeous silvery fawn color with the prettiest eyes. Constance was not properly trained and for that reason, she will need manners reinforced or formal training, but we feel she is going to be a fabulous girl with some hands on care, love, and training. She craves attention, as any pup would, but certainly because she has likely never known what true love is all about. Constance is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Meet Flor. We like to call Flor the hospital kitty, because prior to coming to the shelter she spent most of her days scavenging outside the Winchester, TN hospital looking for food and giving birth to multiple litters of kittens. Upon her arrival at the shelter, it was quickly discovered that she was once again pregnant. We were happy to welcome all five of her babies, watch them grow, and become adopted one by one. She is more like the kind of orange you'd see on a beloved old auburn colored shirt mixed with heavy cream. MYA is so sweet she makes sugar cry. She’s the sweetest girl and loves to play. Age: 3 years young Breed: Labrador retriever mix Size:about 45-55 Mya was a dump off stray that was brought to us in pretty horrible shape. She was starved and skin and bone and she had a large mass on her nose. We fattened her up and got her spayed and vetted. When she was all healed up we went back to get her lump removed. It turned out to likely be a a Mast Cell Tumor which is sadly pretty common in dogs. Our vet believes he removed all of it and it was not embedded in bone so it’s looking very promising for this girls future. She does get along with other dogs. She tends to exhibit a bit of dominance but will stand down when corrected. She tends to play momma hen and correct those that are misbehaving or acting overly excited. We correct this to let her know she doesn’t have to do that and that we will take care of that. She is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. MYSTIC is a happy bouncy girl that will fill your heart with joy. Age: 3yrs young Breed: Lab/hound mix Size:about 55 Mystic is a very special girl who came from a horrible situation. She is mostly deaf and blind but can see up close (probably blurry) and she can hear certain pitches. She lived in a tiny pen filled with her own urine and feces and the cause of her hearing and sight loss is unknown yet not reversible. She is so happy and energetic to be out of that life and on her way to her new one! She really does get around good once she is introduced to her new area by leash. Because of her sight and hearing loss. She will require a fenced yard area for her for when she goes outside to potty and play She’s got a mild to moderate energy level and loves to go for walks on leash and loves to sniff and explore her world. Since she can’t see or hear it very well she will need a family that will be able to take the time to let her explore the only way she can and that’s by following her nose. She would do best with older children and that’s only because she cannot see or hear them and may knock little ones over unintentionally. She’s is so sweet she wouldn’t hurt anyone or anything. She’s a little shy til she trusts you and in time will learn how to accept more attention and petting. She is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. The animal control officer called us the day she took Pearl in. A high-kill shelter is no where for a pregnant pittie girl to end up! The rescue that took her in provided all the pre-natal care and helped this gorgeous girl give birth to 12 puppies. Unfortunately, only 5 have survived and they have now been weaned so it is time to start finding this girl he own forever home. Pearl is a sweet girl who just wants to get some belly rubs and some ear scrubs. She was a good momma but is happy to have that behind her now. She likes to run in the play yard and play with the toys and cuddle up on the sofa when she can. Pearl is up to date on her shots and has been fully vetted.
