Babka, 4 year old, DSH, black with white tips Babka could have been a magician in a previous life based on his love of wand toys. He loves to show off how high he can jump and how quickly he can chew through the string. When he’s not playing, he loves to curl up on a lap, a couch, or with another cat. Babka also still loves to chase his white tipped tail and while he won’t play fetch, he enjoys playing goalie and swatting balls back or catching them. Babka was born and rescued in Brooklyn NY where he bonded with another kitten in foster care. Since their adoption in 2016 they have lived exclusively indoors and in an apt. Unfortunately, his “brother” has become unpredictable over the last 18 months and all treatment methods have been attempted. Babka has always been forgiving and eager to reunite and play and deserves a great home with or without a playmate. He’s never met a dog and has had very limited experience with children who knew to let him come to them. Babka doesn’t like to be held, but once he knows and trusts you, he will allow it for a moment or two. He is also a very good boy about getting his nails trimmed as long as you do it quickly and calmly while he’s curled up on you and half asleep. This is especially helpful because he likes to knead human laps and tummies. Babka also likes a clean litter box and is very food motivated. As you can see, Babka is very used to getting his picture taken and his Instagram followers can’t get enough of his white tips and pink toe beans. When he feels extra cozy and wants to show off, he reveals his “bikini belly” shaped white fur spots. Babka is named after a sweet pastry bread and when he loafs, has a similar shape. He will also come when you call his name if it’s in a high excited pitch… and he feels like it. show less

Big Baby is a beautiful and chill spotted tabby who needs a quiet, patient home where she can acclimate and learn to trust. She’s very curious and energetic when given space to explore and loves to play with toys. She’s still learning how nice it is to be pet, and she’s on her way to becoming an affectionate companion.. Her previous owners said that she was generally very relaxed and lazy, preferring to lounge and nap around the home and occasionally play with some toys. This sweet girl previously lived with other cats and really enjoyed feline companionship -- we think that she would be overjoyed to join a home with another calm companion. show less

Boots is a hot mess with a giant heart. This older, very sweet tuxedo cat was apparently living on the street for the past ten years -- and it really shows! When this guy initially joined us, the wear and tear of his life outside was very apparent -- he was malnourished, sneezing, bad stomach problems and just really dirty! Now that his general health has somewhat improved and he has been brushed and bathed many times by his doting fosters, this gentleman is ready for his own home and family. Boots loves to be brushed and petted, and can be chatty when he wants food or attention, with an endearing meow that sounds like a whispered groan. He will rear on his hind legs to get head scratches, and after you feed him, he will do his best to rub his slobbery fangs on you in appreciation. Boots was shy at first, but has learned to trust those who feed and brush him.  Boots is still a work in progress -- he is in need of dental surgery and a mindful diet to keep his digestion under control. His eyesight isn’t great, but he does have some vision. This fixer upper is a gentle and friendly companion who is enjoying the upgrade to indoor living and we’d be more than happy to discuss his medical concerns and partner with an adopter to ensure that he becomes and stays his healthiest self. This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes. show less

Sweet Boyton is a large cat with a small head looking for a quiet home. We adore this slightly strange shaped buddy. Although his professional name is Boyton, we affectionately call him Draino as he joined us with some drains in his head to clear out a bad injury. He was found in very bad shape in a cat colony in the Bronx, but now that he is totally healed, this 2ish year old boy is ready to cuddle with you! If possible, he'd like to spend all day with his head and paws by your shoulder. He loves under-the-chin pets, belly rubs, and being pet while he’s eating, but will sometimes indicate he’s had enough with a little nip. On occasion, he enjoys curling up in a cozy spot in the closet, but he generally likes to be in the same room as you and will happily follow you around (he even waits in the bathroom while his foster is in the shower). Boyton seemed very overwhelmed around other cats, so he would do best in a quiet home as a single cat or with a respectful and calm feline companion who won’t intimidate this sensitive guy. This cat has a Mouth on the Mend -- Boyton was rescued with dental issues and is in need of surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we are asking for a larger donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills. Brooklyn and Lenny are adorable brothers three years apart. They love to cuddle together and groom each other.  Brooklyn is about 5 years old, and he is quite friendly and outgoing. He would come to you in the morning to ask for food, even jump on your bed to get your attention. Although not a lap cat, he always loves to be pet even by strangers. In the rare occasion in which he doesn’t want to interact, the easiest solution would be to pet Lenny and he would come over on his own because he is that jealous. Lenny is the shy one between the two. He's about 8 years old and he can be quite cautious and sensitive in a new environment, but with some time and patience, he will slowly warm up to you. Although he sometimes hisses at you when you come close, he actually quite enjoys being pet especially on the chin. Lenny is FIV positive. Cats that have FIV can live normal and healthy lives when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exam -- we're happy to discuss this more with you! Cally and Tarlee are a pair of siblings from Staten Island enjoying their new life in Brooklyn.  Cally is a goofy lovebug and is super affectionate and will climb into your lap at every opportunity. Seriously, EVERY opportunity. The rest of her time is spent playing, looking for toys, or following you around, waiting for a lap to lay on. She absolutely craves human affection, which is super hilarious when you consider that sometimes her greeting is a hiss...a friendly hiss, who knew!? Tarlee is still considering his options, but loving all the toys and treats and slowly deciding that humans are not so bad. He’s also a huge fan of meat tubes and doesn’t mind if you buy his love with a Churu. Cally and Tarlee are the perfect pair because while Tarlee is timid, and slowly learning to trust, Cally jumps in to offer comfort, affection and assurance. The two have just the right dynamic of hyper and outgoing (Cally) and pensive and cautious (Tarlee). If you are able to offer a quiet place for them to get settled, and can be patient as Tarlee blossoms and grows, then these two are for you! Very demure and lovely calico seeking a patient and kind human to pass the days and give lots of ear scratches and belly rubs. Charlotte is sweet and affectionate, especially when food is involved, but can still be a little shy of loud noises and new things. She's looking for an adopter who can help her continue to learn to trust and teach her how to play! A little bit of patience plus lots of treats will bring her out of her shell. Charlotte does not like to be picked up and is much happier if you meet her down on her level.  Once comfortable, Charlotte is an avid explorer and is especially happy to investigate if food is involved. Keep some liver snacks on hand and Charlotte will provide the cuddles. She is always sure to finish her meals and never complains about taking medicine, especially if it’s followed by some behind the ear scratches. Charlotte has a ton of love to give and just needs a human to show her love back! This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home. show less

Charlotte and Millie are extremely bonded best friends who have lived together for years. They are head over heels in love with each other -- always cuddling and grooming each other. Charlotte (orange) immediately jumped on the couch at her foster home to demand pets, while Millie (grey) is a bit more timid and follows Charlotte’s lead. This means that as soon as you bond with Charlotte, Millie will become more comfortable with you! Most times, as soon as Charlotte begins getting pets and scratches, Millie gets jealous and runs over to join. It’s rarer for Millie to approach you on her own until she’s comfortable. These girls are a little older and are very relaxed, although occasionally get a small bout of zoomies in the morning. These lovely ladies are precious and love to cuddle with each other and humans and are perfect companions for working from home. These two cats are bonded and must be adopted together -- applications for just one of them will not be processed. Ciconia and Mynah are a playful pair of siblings. Ciconia (black and white) and Mynah (calico) are still learning to trust humans, but it doesn’t take long for them to make new friends. Ciconia will slowly and curiously approach you, until he melts onto the floor and begs you to scratch his ears. Mynah, slightly more cautious (she is a calico after all), will eye you from afar before carefully selecting a comfortable perch within your presence. They are becoming more sociable by the day, and there is no doubt they will fully warm up with the right person and a little time.  These sweet kittens love their playtime and their fosters have yet to out-endurance them in a game of mouse on a string! Despite their treatment of the poor toy mouse, they have never shown any signs of aggression to people. They will play together for hours as well, typically followed by a lengthy nap in the comfiest spot they can find. They will usually cuddle with each other or they will find their own unique spots, reflecting their distinctive personalities.  Expect them to act reserved for a week or so after adoption as they get comfortable. Clementine is a stunningly gorgeous tortoiseshell who loves to cuddle. This petite girl is not afraid to ask for attention, crawling onto your lap or tapping your arms when you stop petting her. She will knead on you and purr all night and follow her humans around. She is still learning how to signal when she’s overstimulated, so she can get a little grumpy when she’s had too many rubs and is wary of too much noise. Clementine definitely has some tortitude -- she will try to get into every single closet, no matter how difficult, and jump onto every shelf no matter how high. Her current favorite hiding place is in the cupboard above the fridge. She’s a little picky about toys (although she is a very clever girl and previously enjoyed puzzle toys), but she loves catnip and treats. Clementine wants to be queen of the castle and needs a home without other animals or young kids. This cat has mild dental disease and will need dental surgery sometime in the near future -- we’d be happy to arrange this upon adoption at a discounted rate, or you can handle it later at your own vet. Coco is one classy kitty looking for her forever home! This low-maintenance lady is happiest when she’s lounging on a cold wood floor or sitting in the window watching for birds. She may not be much of an athlete, but a laser pointer or her catnip rainbow will really get her going if the mood is right! Even her favorite treat is simple: Coco loves a top-off of fresh, cold tap water in her bowl whenever you’re in the kitchen, and she sure loves to let you know, rubbing all over your legs and chatting! Food-wise, she’s a bit more finicky, and strongly prefers wet food to dry, but one crack of the can will send her running in from any other room of the house. She goes ga-ga for chin scritches and head rub, but she isn’t a full-body rubs kind of cat, and will let you know when she’s had enough.  Overall, she’s a sweet, easy-going cat who would do well in a home where she might have some alone time.  show less

Dexter is a really sweet boy. He can be a little shy at first,  but once he is comfortable, he will even get on two feet to reach your hand for pats. He loves to be pet and constantly purrs.  He loves to explore everything around him and is very curious. He is also a very vocal cat and doesn't like to be left alone. He meows for attentions and meows when he wants food. He also does not like sudden movements but once reassured, he will come back for pets. He loves to sharpen his claws on the cat tree and even plays with toys.  He loves different kinds of treats and loves to jump on high ledges. Although Dexter is a shy boy, with a little time he blossoms in to a sweet heart that will capture your heart instantly. Dexter previously lived with several other cats and we think that he would prefer to be adopted with a friend. Dexter was rescued with dental issues and is in need of surgery. The principal will see you now! Dr. Samuels (named after the principal in "Head of the Class") is basically the best cat ever. Seriously. He has a giant head (complete with jowels) and will sit next to his empty food bowl and stare into your soul in a way that almost opens the can of food by itself. This big guy is friendly and slow-moving. He's really into boxes and confused by beds. Dr. Samuels came to us with an eye condition, and after seeing a couple of vets, it seems as though it is just cosmetic! (He did recently scratch his eye which is why it is red and looks irritated and he has to wear a cone for a couple of weeks, but not forever). Dr. Samuels likes to be involved with everything. He has joined many zoom calls, helped himself to our snacks and is always underfoot asking for some pets. He likes to get what he wants (ham sitting on the counter, for example) and needs adopters to create boundaries and be firm when necessary. He can be a bit mouthy -- we are working with him on this behavior, but it will be important to be strict about using toys instead of hands when playing with him. We think that Dr. Samuels would do best with folks who have some experience with cats. He would be fine on his own or with other pets, he really doesn't care much about the other animals at the cafe as long as he gets enough attention. show less

Best friends and brothers Garbanzo and Split Pea are playful and gorgeous brown tabbies. Rescued at a few months old, these legumes enjoy human attention and causing appropriate amounts of trouble. Garbanzo is a total ham -- he enjoys being front and center in photos and in your life. He's been known to climb in the laps and arms of nearby humans when he is in need of a good koala cuddle. Split Pea is smarter and a bit shyer and will need time to get comfortable with new people and in new environments. He feels much braver having his brother by his side and helps keep Garbanzo in line. These playful tabbies keep each other entertained -- wrestling, cuddling and exploring. They are great with other cats and don't mind dogs. show less

Harriet is the utterly Instagrammable cat your heart has been waiting for with her sidekick Nancy Drew. When we say that Harriet is pretty, we mean that she is glamorous. With her family’s signature fluffy tail (see Nancy Drew), she is a velvet black on her top coat with beautiful brown highlights in her undercoat and a stylish, fox like face. Recently rescued from the streets of Brooklyn, she will likely, at first, be scared in her new home. However, swaddle and hold her while watching a movie--preferably with headphones because she, like the rest of us, doesn’t love loud noises--and she will be yours forever, purring the moment you approach. Though, in true spy fashion, she will spend a lot of time hiding, staking out areas, and silently darting across your apartment, she absolutely adores being cuddled. Stick her in your lap during a call and she will burrow her face, missile style, into the fleshy inside of your knee joint or elbow in an effort for more proximity and more love. Just be warned if it’s a work call, she has a purr so loud and exuberant (and heartwarming) that they will hear it through the headphones unless you’re on mute. Adopt this resplendent love nugget and even the tensest of days will be made calm.
