About Konan von Kothen
Konan von Kothen is a stunning 2 year old black and red German Shepherd. Konan's early demeanor with us communicates quiet reserve, caution, and surveillance â all attributes needed to assess his environment properly. Konan is seeking a calm and experienced adult home. He tends to keep to himself and observe, and needs time to get to know new people. With time and training and bonding, Konan will become more secure and reveal more of himself. He just needs his person to continue to help him build trust and cement the connections he so richly deserves. Konan seems more uneasy with men (he can bark at men he doesn't know), so proper introductions are required, and will only solidify his faith in himself and his forever family. He is okay around other dogs at the rescue, mostly just observing and keeping to himself. Konan is a classically handsome Shepherd just waiting for his forever person to unlock all his mightiness. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Konan von Kothen YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AT OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
