Animal's Name: BrunoAnimal ID Number: 182625What should your foster's bio say? Bruno is a playful little cutie pie. He loves his toys and just loves food. As you can understand from his love for food he is treat motivated. He is intelligent and has great potential to learn. He maneuvered 'sit' so fast! He has a lot of energy and I think would do good with an active family or someone with a backyard where he could do his zoomies heartily. He loves to cuddle with us on the couch while we work or watch tv.What did you implement for house training? Do you think it's working? He used pee pads. Most of the time he did good with a few accidents.Have you introduced them to a crate? If so, what kind of crate and what was their reaction? He has always had access to an open crate in an open play pen, except during the night when we kept the pen closed. He did well getting acquainted with the crate after some training. After training he does great staying alone in the crate. He chooses to play in the play pen often. He understands 'go bed' which means going inside the crate. How many hours did you leave them home alone? What was their behavior like when left alone? He has never been left home alone, only in a separate room at night, with us nearby where we could keep an eye on him. He has greatly improved and now can sleep through the night in his pen. He sleeps well in the dark. What is their behavior like with other animals? He hasn't interacted with other animals. What is their behavior like with new people and/or children? : He hasn't interacted with other people. Is there anything else that you would like the new adopter to know about this dog, such as any special tricks or adorable traits?Bruno understands 'sit', 'Go bed' and doing great learning 'leave it'.He has this cute trait of sitting and lifting one leg up whenever expecting a treat. Personality: Casey is the sweetest and bravest boy around. Casey is ready to find a loving forever home where he can run around in circles and sit on your lap. He is scared and shy, but that doesn't mean he won't try his best. You can look forward to Casey opening up and learning new things each day, showing you more of his wonderful personality and creating your forever bond. Even at 4 years old he's still playful like a puppy (wait till you see his spin moves) and has an old gentle soul. Casey has trouble walking on a leash, taking him out in the backyard was our method of house training. He did #1 and #2 outside and the marking in the house became less frequent once he got comfortable in the space and was neutered. His foster left him home alone for about an hour a few times. He will cry when you leave but settles down quickly. Casey is adorable, the pitter-patter of his feet when he walks, chasing his tail, zooming in circles when excited, climbing inside the toy box to get a toy, snuggling in the covers, more snuggling in the covers. He is sweet, gentle, and super playful. He will make someone very happy and want to be their partner.History: Casey was in a foster home with another dog and two adults. He was slow to warm up to the man in the home but after a few days, he was more comfortable. Dog/ Cat Skills: Casey did well with the other dog in his foster home. He is excited to see other dogs and wags his tail. He prefers to play with toys and run around rather than rough house play with his foster brother. We have not had Casey around cats. Leash Skills: Casey is learning to walk on a leash but lots of treats, patience, and happy talk are helping. Ready to meet Casey ? Personality: Charlie is nervous about meeting people at first, but she does warm up and in a period of two weeks made huge strides in her comfort level with her foster family. This included listening to commands, learning commands (like "sit"), coming when called, not cowering so quickly if someone reached down to pet her. She has had a couple of accidents (pee) in the house, which we attribute to her not fully understanding how to ask to go outside. She quickly adapted to our dog door, which remains open most of the day, so she has access to the back yard and playing. She is so loving and eager to please.History: We are a household with 2 active children (10 and 12 years old) and a 5yo energetic labrador. Charlie loves being around them. She sleeps with our lab in the same dog bed in one of the kids' rooms. During the day she sleeps on a dog bed in the kitchen when the kids are in school, but can be playful when she realizes they are free. She will push her nose at their shins and heels, indicative of her cattle dog breed.Dog Skills: Charlie is incredibly friendly with all dogs she has met (which is at least 4). Her foster brother (a 5yo lab) warmed to her quickly and they play extremely well, both ball chasing and wrestling; she was introduced to other dogs at a school field a few times, where she had no problem meeting other dogs and running around with them.Cat Skills: Charlie has not been around cats or very small animals.Leash Skills: Charlie was afraid to leave her foster's house at first, but within a week became comfortable going for walks. She will do anything if her foster brother (the 5yo lab) is going along with her. Recently, when he was taken for a walk by both kids, she stayed at home and howled, knowing that she had been left behind. She really loves being around people and other dogs.Ready to meet Charlie ? What should your foster's bio say?Shy kittens need love too! Chrissy is a very special girl, hoping to find the perfect home! Chrissy is shy around new people, and in new situations. She will run away, and she may even hiss. But don't let her shyness fool you! Under that fear, there is a loving, cuddly kitten waiting to come out!Chrissy is a beautiful tortie with sparkling green eyes. She has absolutely gorgeous markings, and silky-soft fur. She is a petite girl.Poor Chrissy takes a little bit of time to warm up. But once she does, she is one of the biggest cuddlebugs you will ever meet! She loves laptime, will lean into pets, and will loudly purr with delight. Once she trusts you, Chrissy will even ask for attention. She will softly trill, or politely tap your shoulder to remind you to pet her.Chrissy is not shy about playtime! She loves to chase balls, feathers, and mice, and will dive in the air after wand toys. How does your cat react when being held? How does your cat feel about being picked up? With new people, Chrissy is pretty nervous being held. She will try to get loose and run away. But once she trusts you, she enjoys being held and cuddled. How do they play with you? Chrissy loves toys! Wand toys are her favorite, and she will jump very high to catch them. What is their behavior like with new people and/or children? : Chrissy is VERY shy around new people and loud noises. She would probably do best in a quieter home. What is their behavior like with other animals? Chrissy has only been introduced to cat & kittens. Once she realized that they aren't going to hurt her, she gets along great with them! Because Chrissy is shy, she does really well paired with a more confident cat/kitten that can take her under their wing. What kind of litter box setup did you have for your cat? How would you describe their success using the litter box? Chrissy has perfect litter box manners and has never had an accident. Chrissy and her litter use an uncovered litter box. She has used different types of litter (paper pellets, unscoopable clay, scoopable clay) and has done fine with each one.Is there anything else that you would like the new adopter to know about this cat, such as any special tricks or adorable traits? I've fostered many kittens before, and Chrissy is one of my all-time favorites. She is one of the most loveable kittens I have ever met. Once she trusts you, she forms a REALLY strong bond, and will reward you with lots of love, snuggles, and affection! Because she is fearful around new people, Chrissy needs to find a patient home that is willing to give her a little time to warm up. I promise, Chrissy is worth it!!! Personality: Cruiser is a very happy and playful boy. He loves people and enjoys playing, but when play time is over he loves to be a lap dog and just curl up and keep you company. I cannot vouch for him to be potty trained but he handles being in a crate and having alone time quite well. Cruiser loves adults and kids and other dogs but he prefers to not share his food bowl.History: Cruiser's been living in a foster home with adults, children, and other dogs. Dog/Cat Skills: When Cruiser first arrived he was ready to join my dogs for playtime and they all got a lot of exercise wrestling with each other. He does try to chase the cat in his foster home though. Leash Skills: Cruiser handles a leash quite nicely and enjoys his outings in the neighborhood.Medical: Cruiser has a condition called luxating patellas. This means that the knee cap is loose and may move in and out of place spontaneously as he walks. Typically, dogs with luxating patellae walk normally until the patella moves out of place and then hop or skip for a few steps until it spontaneously returns to normal position. Cruiser has been diagnosed with periodontal disease (also known as dental disease). This disease is extremely common in dogs and cats, especially as they age. Cruiser had a dental cleaning recently at HSSV. At that time the patient the teeth were evaluated for fractures, and periodontal disease. Teeth that were determined to be unhealthy were removed. The adopting family is encouraged to discuss continuing dental care for this patient with their family veterinarian. Cruiser presented to HSSV with a large mass on the left hind limb. The mass was surgically removed and submitted to a veterinary laboratory for analysis. The mass was found to be a Subcutaneous Mast Cell Tumor. Studies indicate that with these circumstances, the tumor is unlikely to recur. However, this dog should be monitored for any new growths on a routine basis. Ready to meet Cruiser ? Personality: Dinah is a sweet calm cat that is looking for a home that enjoys the finer things in life. She loves to snuggle into a soft blanket and take cat naps. She loves food and will follow you around and beg for more! She likes being near her people and enjoys napping nearby while her foster is working or hanging out at home. Dinah occasionally will pounce on stuffed mice or bat at a cat wand or rope. She sometimes likes to groom her yarn toys. Dinah can get too excited if being pet for too long so we recommend giving her breaks. Her fur will stand on end and she will swat or nip at you to tell you when she's had enough petting. History: Dinah lived in a foster home with a 9-year-old and 13-year-old and did well. However, she is not recommended to go home with young children due to her tendency to nip when she's had enough petting.Dog/Cat Skills: We have not had Dinah around cats or dogs while in our care. Medical: This cat had a surgical procedure called a femoral head and neck ostectomy performed on 8/26/20 on her right hip due to a severe fracture of the hip joint. It is possible that she may always have a slightly abnormal gait in her right rear limb. However, this is no longer causing any pain and she is not on any medications at this time.
