About Happy

*ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* This adorable, smiley boy is 2 year-old Happy. Happy has been in and out of the shelter several times in his young life due to his humans’ lack of experience and training...this is likely to be Happy’s last chance. 💔 If we can’t find him a foster or adopter, there’s a very good chance that he won’t make it out of the shelter alive. PLEASE READ ENTIRE CAPTION FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Happy has been wonderful with everyone at the shelter, but two of his previous families have stated that he can get protective of people in the family. The families didn’t know how to stop that kind of behavior, so they allowed it to continue unaddressed until they decided to dump Happy back at the shelter and now Happy’s life is in the balance. 😔 Happy has never hurt anyone or even come close; he gets defensive and fearful so he just needs a patient, loving family willing to work on his confidence and socialization skills. He doesn’t deserve to languish away at a shelter until he’s euthanized because his humans have failed him. At this time, Happy needs to be the only animal. He lived with a baby in his last home and did great with her 💕, but she was one of the people that he was very protective over, so until he receives more structure and training, older children would be preferable. Happy is currently at Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento. Approved fosters/adopters may have to provide transportation, but the shelter is willing to help in any way that they can to ensure Happy gets another chance at a long, HAPPY life. 💙Please help us rescue him before it’s too late. 😔🙏 Please help us get sweet Happy into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Don't forget, Passion for Pitties is a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible!…every little bit helps! *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED* This pretty girl is 4 year-old Allie. Sadly, Allie is losing her home because her family is moving in a few weeks and they can’t take her with them. 😔 We’d love to bring Allie into our rescue, but we need a committed foster or adopter first. 🙏 Allie is AMAZING with people, including infants and elderly/fragile individuals! She’s a little shy when she first meets someone new, but gets over it quickly and wants to be best friends. 💕 She’s currently living with a 3 month-old baby and two disabled great-grandparents. Allie has been nothing but sweet, gentle and attentive to all of their needs. 😇 Her only challenge seems to be living with other animals, so she’ll need to be the only fur baby in the home. Allie loves hugs, walks and her toys. ⚾ She’s almost always smiling and often does an adorable, goofy pibble sit that will make you want to adopt her today. 😍 She promises to be the goodest girl when she gets a new home and will surely fill it with happiness and love. Are you ready to adopt her yet??? 💜 Please help us get Allie into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Bailey (aka “Pup Pup”) is a silly, sweet-natured loving cuddly puppy and current foster favorite! Her foster home includes three other dogs, two cats and two teenagers and she adores them all. She is particularly fond of her canine pals, so would require a home with another dog for companionship and serious rough and tumble play (this pup plays HARD and can hold her own alongside any size dog!). Because she’s never experienced much alone time, a family who is home more often than not would be most ideal. And, older vs younger children in the household best due to her current playful nature. Bailey thinks all cats want to be her friend and bounce around the house with her, so a home with dog-tolerant kitties a plus! Bailey is fine-tuning a few basic skills like relieving herself in nature, walking more lady-like on a leash and leaving her human’s flip flops alone. Like any energetic toddler, she’ll need regular exercise plus access to a yard to run, jump, play and dig (do you need help mining for gold? gophers? Bailey’s your gal). Bailey’s chompers are always ready for action, so puppy-friendly chew toys are a must! She is crate trained, but prefers life outside the crate close to her people and animal buddies. Making dive bombs from her human’s bed onto her own bed is a current specialty and make for endless entertainment for her humans! Her all-time favorite thing to do: Curl up to next to her human in bed (after getting her fair share of belly rubs and goodnight kisses) for a full night’s slumber. Please help us get Bailey into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* This beaming pretty girl is 3 year-old Bella. Bella is currently at the shelter and needs to be pulled before her time runs out. 😔If we can find a committed foster, adopter, or financial sponsor, we can save Bella’s life...please help us help her! 🙏 Bella came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 11/11/2020 after her “family” decided that they didn’t want her anymore. 💔Shelter staff have informed us that she is very friendly, outgoing and easy to handle. Bella did well with the older children in the home. However, we’re not sure how she does with young children, although from what we can tell she is a total love bug! She also cohabitated with a Maltese and did great, never an issue. Bella arrived with very itchy skin and severe hair loss on parts of her body. She has been receiving medicated baths to treat this condition and has behaved wonderfully, although she does not enjoy this very much. Honestly, who would?? This is what we know at this time and will update when we have more information. Please help us get sweet Bella into a safe, loving forever home! This handsome stud is 2 year-old Bruno. Bruno’s story is an all too sad one. He was found wandering the streets of Tijuana until a good Samaritan intervened to give him a shot at a better life. The wonderful people at Passion For Pitties were so kind to take me into the rescue and now I spend my days with my lovely foster family. My foster is still getting to know me, but I have settled in quite nicely since arriving home. Sweet Bruno is extremely affectionate and gives lots of licks as well as enjoys receiving pets! One of his favorite things to do is lay on top of his foster dad’s foot while he works on his laptop (his foster dad that is). He is dog friendly and does great with his other doggie siblings. Bruno is still settling in to domestic life and so his zeal can be a little intense, since he is still adjusting to his new world, but he continues to do well with meeting new people and new dogs. Bruno knows his name and will come when called. He is also potty-trained. Will also require some basic obedience training, which he should learn very quickly, as he has a strong desire to please. This is what we know about Bruno at this time and will update as additional information comes in. Please help us get sweet Bruno into a safe, loving forever home! Meet uber-handsome 7 year-old Buck! 😍 Buck is a rescue favorite who is sadly returning to us for the second time. Sometimes despite everyone’s best efforts, it’s just not the right fit, so we’re determined to find his perfect match and make this his LAST forever home. 💙 Buck loves people and does well with large, submissive, dog-friendly female dogs. 🐶 Cats, small dogs and animals, and babies are a no-go for Buck 🚫 but he does amazing with older kids (12+)! His favorite pastimes are chewing on bones and toys, playing ball, and goofing off outside. He is very mellow when at home and likes to lay his head down on his foster dad’s lap. He sleeps right through the night without any fuss. He knows all his basic commands and is potty-trained and crate-trained. Thank you in advance for your interest in our Buck! Please help us get Buck into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. ‼ ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP ‼ This big guy is handsome Claudius. 😍 Claudius was found tied up to a pole and abandoned at a fast-food restaurant on 10/27/2020. 💔 When he arrived at the shelter, staff found out that he was micro-chipped, but that his owner had passed away, leaving Claudius with someone who decided that they just didn’t want him anymore, so they tied him to that pole without any food, water or shelter, and left him to fend for himself. 😠It’s estimated that he was stuck there for hours before a Good Samaritan saw him and brought him to the temporary safety of the shelter. This gentle giant is currently 117lbs and looks like he should lose a few, but even with that, he’ll still be a pretty big boy. 💪 He’s super sweet with people and has loved everyone he’s met so far since being at the shelter, but he’s already showing some significant signs of shelter stress. Between losing his owner, being tied up and abandoned, and now finding himself in a loud, scary shelter environment, Claudius is really struggling and needs out right away. ☹ He’s been a bit dog-reactive, so he should be the only dog in the home until he acclimates and can be safely introduced to other dogs or animals. 🐶 Please help us get sweet Claudius into a safe, loving forever home! This handsome little stud muffin is 3 month-old Darth. He is super playful and has such a loving personality, he will win you over the minute you meet him. In fact, he will make you want to adopt him right away! This sweet guy is always up for an adventure and one of his favorite things to do is go on car rides, which he LOVES! Darth gets along well with people, children and dogs. A real unicorn! Although he has never interacted with a cat, he will probably get along well with them too. You can take him anywhere with you. He just wants to be everyone’s best friend and enjoys giving kisses and receiving pets. Darth is great on a leash and ignores most distractions while on a walk. When he is not out exploring the world, this little one is a professional snuggler that enjoys being close to his humans. He is such a good boy that he will sleep all through the night. Darth knows some basic commands, is crate-trained and nearly potty-trained, but rest assured, he will master that too! Please help us get sweet Darth into a safe, loving forever home! Hello everyone! My name is Etta and I am a sweet loving 8 year-old Pittie! My name is Etta and I listen pretty well when my name is called. I’ve had plenty of experience with puppies of my own. Because of this, I am very CARING of my 2 ½ year old foster brother Dallas. He and I gently play together a few times a day, often times playing tug-o-war with the toys, which I am perfectly fine with sharing. If I am done playing before Dallas is, I gently start to tell him I’m over him and may even voice it a little bit, but never get aggressive. I LOVE to sleep on my fluffy bed next to my foster mom while she works during the day. We have a routine down to where if I get up, I typically need to go pee and as long as she listens, I don’t have any accidents in the house. Plus, I have a nice size yard to play in and get lots of exercise there. Walks are great too and will typically listen when told to ignore something, but I do get excited when I see someone or another pup that I want to play with. So, I am working on that! I also love my 17 year-old human foster brother. He will play with me and pet me and let me give him all kinds of kisses! We all usually have play time outside in the evening til we are all pooped out. I even like to lay on my Human Foster Brother and sit on his lap. I don’t get on the couch or beds unless you ask me to. When its bedtime, I will go into my crate no problem and sleep there through the night. It’s nice and cozy! Oh, I also love to go on car rides! We go at least once or twice per day. Starbucks trips for puppaccinos are my FAVORITE! I will climb up into the car no problem, but sometimes need assistance with getting out. I do have a tumor on my back leg, which will be getting removed in August. It doesn’t really bother me much, but it does get in the way of things. For the most part, I’m a pretty chill girl that loves to be by my foster mom’s side. I do bark a bit when I hear noises outside that indicates someone might be there, but I just want to make sure everyone is safe! Other than that, I do howl and bark a little when I want attention or when she leaves me at home, but will eventually settle down. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my forever home! 🆘 URGENT! Foster or adopter needed ASAP! 🆘 This adorable little chunk is 1 ½ year-old Fiona and like most princesses, she has a big, beautiful personality! Sadly, Fiona and her buddy, Koa are losing their home and need a new place to crash within the next few days or they’ll both end up in the shelter. 😔The good news is that while Fiona and Koa CAN live together, they don’t HAVE to, so if we can find one home for both or separate homes for each of them, we can save their lives! 💕 Fiona is super sweet but still sassy and energetic! She’s an excitable pup who never received proper training or socialization, but she’s a good girl who just wants to please, so all she needs is some patience, love and guidance. If not fostered or adopted with Koa, she’d do best as an only animal in the home until she receives more training and socialization. Small kids are also a no-no for this little bowling ball, as she truly doesn’t realize her own size or strength and hasn’t yet learned how to politely interact with smaller people. 🙈 Please help us save Fiona and Koa and spare them the heartbreak of being dumped at the shelter alone, scared and confused. 🙏 If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Gypsy Rose is a professional splooter, musical snorer, zoomie expert, and well-versed in obtaining belly rubs. She is crate-trained, house broken, and a perfect student learning her commands and manners. This pretty girl loves to play hard and sleep even harder. Gypsy loves to bring you her toys and has the cutest little prance when she runs! Like most pitties, she is very smart, extremely loyal, and eager to please. You’re going to fall in love with her pretty pittie smile, floppy airplane ears, and pouty little lips. Gypsy has been through a lot in her life. When she arrived with her foster family, she had skin and eye infections. However, with a lot of love she has completely recovered, embodied resilience, and shown everyone her true silly personality! This healthy girl has a beautiful honey chestnut coat and the pinkest snoot that is perfect for kisses. She loves to be close to her humans and like most house hippos, she has no spatial awareness or concept of her own size - be ready for your newest addition to be a lap dog! This little tank is so happy to have a safe place to rest her head at night and shows us her gratitude every day. She has come so far and learned so much and is ready for her forever family! Gypsy is eager to be your one and only. Have you ever wanted your own little shadow? Look no further! She is endlessly loyal and develops close bonds with the humans that she trusts. As summer turns to fall, this little love bug is ready to curl up with her forever humans! Gypsy needs to be the only animal in the home. No children or children 12+ are preferable until she receives training and acclimates to her new home environment. She’s a sweet, playful girl who struggles with maintaining her excitement, so she’ll need an active, dog-savvy family who will be dedicated to providing Gypsy with the proper training, socialization and guidance that every dog benefits from. Please help us get sweet Gypsy into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. This adorable guy with the bunny ears is 1 ½ year-old Jamie. 😍 Jamie’s story is an all too familiar one. He came to the shelter as a stray and sadly no one came looking for him. 😪 He was becoming increasingly stressed at the shelter, but we were finally able to pull him and now he spends his days with a loving foster family until he finds his forever home. His foster family is still getting to know him, but he has settled in quite nicely. Jamie looks like a muscly macho man, but enjoys nothing more than chest scratches and snacks! His manners are really good with all the training that he has received and would most benefit from a dog-savvy family who can help him to continue becoming the polite gentleman he was destined to be! 😇 He has walked nicely alongside other dogs and based on input from his foster, we believe that he can be with other dogs in the home environment if properly introduced. Hello everyone! My name is Kenny and am a SUPER handsome stud! I wound up at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility because sadly my human family decided they no longer wanted to care for me. I’m not sure why, since I would never abandon them! The wonderful people at Passion For Pitties were so kind to pull me from the shelter and now I spend my days with my lovely foster family. My foster is still getting to know me, but I have settled in quite nicely since arriving home. Below is a little bit more about me: • I’m approximately 9 years old. • Weigh in at a svelte 90 pounds. • Overall my demeanor is quite calm and I’m very well behaved. • LOVE people and am a crowd favorite whenever I’m out in public! • Enjoy nothing more than spending time with my foster family and soaking up their AFFECTION! I will cry if we are not together. Who would have thought that a big guy like me would? • GREAT with all dogs, big and small. However, don’t like it when bigger dogs show aggression towards me. • I’m adventurous and always up for a car ride! • Going for walks is another favorite activity. • Am potty-trained and know some basic commands like “sit” and “down/off.” Also know “go to bed.”:) Please help us get sweet Kenny into a safe, loving forever home!
