Hi Everyone, my name is Jameson aka Jamie and I will be 4 years old in January. I am ready for adoption after spending most of the year in foster care losing over 50lbs! I initially came to the rescue over 100 pounds with two torn knees and I am now down to 47 pounds and the vet thinks that the low 40s would be an ideal goal weight.I likely have a little bit of basset hound in me which is why my ideal weight is in low 40s. I do need to stick to a strict diet of 600 calories a day until I reach my goal weight and then the calorie count can be readjusted if needed by the vet. I am prone to skin infections so I take an allergy supplement to help and the vet said baths with a medicated shampoo will also help keep infections at bay.I had both of my knees repaired with a TPLO procedure which means I have two new knees with screws and plates which is pretty cool!! Both of my knees were torn due to being obese. The vet said there is no reason why the replaced knees shouldn't last my entire life which is awesome news. And if it weren't for the scars, you wouldn't know my knees were replaced because I am very active and go for regular mile long walks several times a week.I would do best in a home with no other dogs (unsure on cats) and no small children. I get along with my foster brothers most of the time but I have tendencies to resource guard items from other dogs. I am the most docile dog around humans. I am also doggy door trained but I do not like to be crated.I love my foster home but I am looking forward to finding a forever home and hope you will want to meet me! show less

Hi,I'm Shelby! My brother Thomas and I are looking to find a new fur-ever home in our senior years. Our human siblings have some pretty bad allergies that are making them sick :-(. Thomas and I are an easy going pair and we hope to find a fur-ever home soon!I am great with kids and am very well house-trained. I am an expert at the doggie door. My mom describes me as super sweet, mellow, and lovable. I don't crave attention and am content resting in my dog bed. I will be pushy about begging around the dinner table (not aggressive, just pushy and underfoot!). I also want everyone to know that I am watching the house so I will bark at random times. And, of course, like most beagles, if given the opportunity, I am an expert at getting into the garbage!Hope to meet you soon,LuvShelby show less

My mom describes me as super sweet, super lovable. I love to snuggle. And I am a licker - people, hardwood floors, Shelby's face..... gotta make sure everything's clean! I am very loyal and kind.I will 'hug' my people's legs to not let them escape. My one quirk is that I am petrified of car rides.
