About MISSY

At just 2 1/2 years old, the only world Missy had ever known was turned upside down when she was surrendered to the shelter. She tries to make herself seem bigger and tougher than she is but everything about her body language tells us that Missy is simply scared. So we go slowly with Missy. And going slowly has paid off! Missy has a small circle of shelter friends. Everything about this pint-sized girl lights up when she sees one of them approaching her kennel. She leans into them for pets, gives them kisses, and is just the wiggliest little wiggle-butt!Past experience has told us that Missy is not going to significantly improve in the shelter environment. What she needs is a quiet, adult-only home where she can relax and decompress. She needs someone patient... willing to go at Missy`s pace, whatever that pace may be. We have no doubt that Missy will be the most wonderful, snuggly companion if given the opportunity!Missy has shown friendly interest in other dogs but has not been officially evaluated. We think she could potentially live with a calm, confident dog, but a meet and greet would be required, as well as initial separation at home. Missy will go home with tons of support from the Orange Dot Crew (a volunteer advocacy group at the shelter), a goody bag of enrichment items, and free training support thanks to Friends of AAC and their Behavior Assistance Program! I weigh approximately 57 lbs. Click here to view my paperwork.
