Bro ACCT-A-81665 Intake Type: Return (1/06), Stray (12/28) Sex: Male Age: 1Y (estimated) Altered: yes **VIDEOS** Bro knows sit ---https://youtu.be/rWBiUo1lrHA Bro loves hotdogs --- https://youtu.be/7JBKNEk-axA Bro walking --- https://youtu.be/59qQ_s-yBbM Personality: Hi there, my name is Bro! While I may look like an ordinary dog, I'm really something special. For one, I think I'm a little lap dog -- I'll climb right into your lap and give you lots of kisses! I'm also the sweetest pup out there. I LOVE hanging out with people, and once I get to know you I'll stick by your side through thick and thin. And it doesn't hurt that I'm pretty handsome too! Basically I'm the whole package -- all I need is a home to call my own. Medical Observation: 1/21 (Vet Check) -- The patient has mild upper respiratory signs consistent with early CIRDC, or kennel cough. He will be started on antibiotics and monitored. 1/6 (Intake Exam) -- Friendly; fearful; QAR 12/28 (Intake Exam) -- Normal; friendly; BAR Behavior Observation: 1/22 (Per Lifesaving) -- I took Bro out for a morning staff walk. He was easy to leash in kennel. He was hard barking at the corner of the kennel but I realized the KA was cleaning the other side with a hose. Bro was not interested in treats in the kennel. I passed another staff member walking another dog. We passed each other but Bro and the other dog got too close to each other and hard barked and snapped at each other. No one was injured and Bro was fine after walking away from the other dog. Bro walked loosely on the leash, only pulled slightly when leaving the building. He peed and pooped almost immediately when outside. He was not interested in interacting with me nor was he interested in treats. Someone on a bike passed by and caught Bro's interest but he was not bothered by the cyclist. Another staff member had another dog in one of the runs and Bro fixated on the dog. Bro's back hair would stand up but he did not bark and he was able to redirect away with a simple tug on leash. I took Bro back inside because he was hypersalivating and was getting stressed. Bro was easy to walk back in the kennels, not distracted by other dogs barking. He was easy to unleash in kennel, allowed me to reach over his head and touch his neck. Ended the interaction with a bunch of treats. 1/21 (Per Vet) -- Slightly nervous, but friendly and easy to handle. Very food motivated. 1/19 (Per Volunteer)-- Kennel Presentation--Easy to leash/social--Super relaxed and easy to leash (even with 4 clips) Leash Skills--Pulls Minimally On Leash---Walks well on leash. Enjoys sniffing and peeing on everything he can. Handleability---Loose/Allows all handling---Seems to enjoy being pet. I didn't push it with handling due to him not feeling well. Tag---No interest Toys---No interest 1/6 (Per Previous Owner) -- Loves affection, ignores toys, nervous and frightened at night; starts shaking upon approach after dark (owner unsure why behavior happens), Loves to be pet, potty trained, attentive, seems triggered and anxious before bed, Drools a lot; picky with food, knows Sit, stay, and come 12/28 (Per Lifesaving) -- Kennel Presentation - Nervous. Standing in kennel trembling when I approached. Would not take treats through the kennel door, but approached me when I opened the door and was easily leashed. On return, would not enter kennel despite offering many high value treats. While attempting to return him to kennel, a male ACA approached and Bro growled at him briefly, then stopped as soon as he walked away. He allowed me to lift him back into the kennel and remove the leash. Leash Skills - Pulls Minimally On Leash. Walks very well near handler. Appears interested in other dogs, was sniffing at dogs in surgery bay when we passed by. Easy to redirect and continued walking by without issue. Handleability - Loose/Allows all handling. Solicits lots of attention, gives kisses, loves getting pets, allows all over handling. Sat right next to me while I was at my desk. Thinks he's a big lap dog and will climb in your lap! Tag - Did not attempt. Toys - No interest. Does not show interest in toys. Also not food-motivated. Color Level Blue. Super sweet and friendly! 12/28 (Per Finder) -- Very gentle, sweet, leash trained, knows some commands like sit and stay, very well behaved, seems interested in other dogs. BITE DETAILS: 1/14 (Per Adopter) -- Thank you for following up. I do not have any photos but I was bitten twice; once on my left forearm (attempt) and once on my right hand (bite). Both bites broke the skin but were not very severe. Besides these isolated incidences at night when Bro seemed confused, he was not aggressive at all. We were sad to see him go but did not have the time or space needed to train him and/or sequester him from older people living in our home. I hope you can find a good home for him. 1/2 (Per Adoption Return Notes) -- Owner was sitting on the couch and he left the room, but Bro didn't seem to recognize him upon coming back into room. Bro's face changed and then he bit twice, on right hand and left forearm, and he kept trying to latch on. Owner had to put Bro in a room by himself to decompress. Level 3 Bro has bitten on two other occasions where his owner leaves the room and when he comes back, Bro doesn't seem to recognize him, change in body language, whale eyes and tail tucked with flat ears. Both bites broke the skin but were not very severe. Besides these isolated incidences at night when Bro seemed confused, he was not aggressive at all. show less
