Sweet Abby is a very small lab mix, her pictures are deceiving! Abby recently joined us and likely didn't receive the care she needed. She had some hind end weakness and needed a dental. She is steadily gaining weight and strength in her rear legs and just had a dental done too! Abby is good with everyone but she enjoys a quiet and calm lifestyle. We think she'd do best in a home with no small kids and a place where she has easy access in and out. show less

FOREVER FOSTER WANTED: Astrid is an amazing girl who has been through a lot, she sat in a local shelter for 9 months! You'd think that would be enough to make her jaded but her smile tells you she's all about focusing on the future! Astrid had huge oral fistulas repaired in her mouth, mammary tissue removed during her spay and a mast cell tumor removed from her rump! She's looking for a family who will love her as much as she will love you! She is a very goofy gal, she loves to have one-on-one conversations, she loves her food, she loves her cuddles and she loves dogs that are similar in size. We don't know Astrid's long term prognosis so we are seeking a forever foster family who is willing to open their home to her knowing her time may be limited. Lionel's Legacy will provide necessary food, supplies and vetting if you are in the San Diego or Orange County areas. If you are an out-of-towner we will gladly provide a medical stipend. show less

This cutie pie is the sweetest thing on earth! Bissmar is approx. 11yrs old. and has lots of nicknames which include Tank, Chunky Monkey, and Chubmiester. LOL! He joined us rather portly as you might have guessed and unfortunately had an injury to his back which caused temporary paralysis. He's been receiving acupuncture, chiropractics and is taking Chinese herbs and is on the mend. He enjoys off leash play at Fiesta Island and does great with the other dogs. He can get a little feisty with them if they are all up in his business but other than that is great with other dogs. His foster mom says he gets along with everyone and is one of the gentlest, easiest, and sweetest dogs she's ever fostered. He sleeps most of the day but loves mealtime, snuggles, and his daily walks. He is taking seizure medication as we discovered that along with his back issues he developed some neurological issues. We have been working to reduce his medications as he heals. This little guy may have special needs but he is one heck of a special boy! show less

Foster reports: 8 yr old Buzz is one of the sweetest dogs I have EVER (and I mean this) EVVVVER been around and I have been around a lot of dogs over the years and fostered many. His love for people he trusts is so sweet and genuine. He now seeks me for petting and lets me rub all over him. Being picked was a big trust issue for him but he is allowing it with less fear to where I can scoop him up easily now. I love feeling his little body relax in my arms, releasing his anxiety and learning to trust human arms again as a secure place.Buzz has A LOT to give someone. He just needs that person that wants to allow him a short amount of time to finish his success story. He does not need very long as long as you’ve got some good food and treats to offer! Once he feels safe, he is so confident and such a joy to have around. He is absolutely precious playing with a toy! Buzz can exist with other dogs with proper introductions but he does not really seek them out for play. He does not care for overly hyper dogs that constantly invade his space. Buzz pays no attention to the cat here, he’s sniffed her a few times, received a hiss once and just went about his day. I would not recommend Buzz for a family with young children as he is blind and can startle easier than a dog with vision. Buzz is healthy, received a dental cleaning and was neutered on 2/9/21 followed by a bilateral eye enucleation 3/31. He is ready to brighten your every day to come. 12lb Charlie is everything you expect in a Pug, we suspect maybe some dachshund too just to add to the fun. He is all the good stuff, happy, affectionate, loyal, charming, playful and mischievous! Charlie is a good listener and quick to want to please you and do the right thing, once he's told not to do ""well, the wrong thing"" Charlie has mastered, sit, lay-down, roll over and belly scratches! He’s come out of his shell and loves to play. He loves to cuddle, hang out, go for walks, lay in the sun and be with the other pups. He is eager to please his person and is a great eater!! He loves all humans and four legged friends. Charlie will do well in a home with or without dogs. Charlie will dart if given a chance to, so a well protected yard is recommended. Charlie will be getting a dental and neuter on April 8th, so he will be ready to for adoption soon. Sweet Gandalf is extra special because not only is he blind but he is pretty much deaf as can be. Even still, he wags his tail once he realizes you are there. Once in a routine he's good to go! He adores kids and other animals. He is neutered and had a dental in August. This whimsical wizard will enchant you with hours of waggles and snuggles. show less

I am a gentle, loving, sensitive soul. I love every 4 legged creature I come in contact with. I am, at times a bit fearful or uncertain of things like vacuum cleaners or loud noises, but a little reassurance is all I need to bring me back to the safe and simple space I occupy with such grace and gratitude. I came from a loving home, I shared my life with cats, dogs, children and I would love to be a member of an active family. I am housetrained, respectful and easy to be around. I don't know how to be anything other than the gentle soul I am.. I don't much care to leave the house for car rides or walks. I'm a homebody and I prefer to explore my yard and catch some rays. I have a little arthritis which is improved with medication. I've got a lot of love left in me and if you need someone like me to warm your heart, I'm ready, I've been so lucky and I would love to share it with you. show less

Happie lost her family, her home and her best canine pal Sam to cancer all in one day and in just 7 weeks from all that, her foster reports ""This girl is one of the best dogs that we have ever fostered"". Despite all she lost, she remembered all the basic commands such as sit, go lay down, and shake. She has never had an accident in the house and has never run off. She listens very well and follows all commands promptly without hesitation. Not to mention, she is very photogenic!. Happie was loved so very much by her previous family. You can tell because she has the best demeanor and she’s very loyal. We love her big brown eyes, and we love the way she looks at us with so much love. When our family first got Happie, she was super sad and confused. She was in heat and had a medium sized mammary mass on her left side. We were patient with her; gave her the space she needed and time to heal from her trauma. After a vet visit to get the mass removed and a spay, a healthy diet, and a quiet home, she has blossomed into one of the best dogs we’ve ever had. Some things to take into consideration if you are thinking of adopting Happie. She’s a big girl, weighing in at 81 pounds. She moves very slow and does not care for any type of commotion. She likes her world quiet, with no yappy dogs or fast moving children. She is very slow to warmup to new humans, but once she does, she’s your best friend forever. We recommend no small children, a quiet household, and an easy going/mellow canine companion. show less

Harvey is a happy, snuggly little fellow. He is very friendly and sociable with dogs, cats, adults and respectful children. He is housetrained, retires around 9:30, sleeps through the night and wakes around 6:30 for his first potty break. Harvey enjoys his walks, car rides and loves the outdoors. Harvey is learning what toys are, but a sock or towel is fun to toss around too. Harvey is a very talented singer and will provide endless hours of entertainment, he particularly favors Mariachi music! Harvey will do best in a home with someone who is home a lot and other pets. Not gonna lie he has PTSD and little panic attacks. We have weaned his medications down to L-theanine, CBD and 50 mg of Trazadone(am only).
