About DUKE

Duke has spent time in a foster home where he followed his foster dad around the house and laid at his side until called for duty by a walk or play time. Duke LOVES walks and the mention of the word brings big doggie smiles. He has plenty of energy for trots and runs if that`s ok and he loves a good car ride. He`s just as happy with a couple good ole belly rubs and treats, in moderation of course! The benefits of a mature dog are not lost on Duke - he knows all his important commands and he`s very housetrained and does well with kids. He also can thrive in a home or an apartment community. He`s crate trained but doesn`t need one to be good on his own. But yeah, he knows to be nice about the food left on the table but hey if you leave it unattended it must be that you`re sharing for two. Snacks anyone? Duke lived with a resident dog in foster and has lived with dogs in the past. He doesn`t need other dogs in his life but can live with one. A meet and greet with a home dog can be accomodated through the shelter, after all shouldn`t future siblings get to have a say in their choice? To learn more about Duke follow his link. Meet Annie! She is a young, energetic pup who loves being around people... her favorite thing is getting some snuggles and pets!Annie loves going on outings to the park... she has SO much fun sniffin` all the things and meeting all the people! Her shelter BFF has also taken her to eat pizza (YUM!!) as well as to an agility class (gotta burn off those pizza eatin` calories!). Annie adapts easily to each new situation and always has a smile on her face. She is 100% an adventure buddy! Annie has shown friendly and curious interest in other pups, so there is potential for her to live with a confident and playful resident dog, but a meet and greet followed by initial separation in the home will be required. Luckily she comes with lots of support from the Orange Dot Crew (a volunteer advocacy group) and free training thanks to Friends of AAC.An ideal home for Annie will be with someone who wants to take her on walks to work her little body and then provide her with enrichment items and puzzle toys to work her little mind! She would likely be too much doggo for young kids but teenagers who want to help with her training would be great! Annie would do best in a house with a yard, or a lower-traffic apartment complex. Annie is growing up in the shelter and we won’t sugarcoat it… it’s tough on her. She deserves a real home… she deserves a family. Please reach out to learn more about this sweet & sassy gal!
