As a big, black, and fearful dog, Ace has some odds stacked against him. But luckily for him, he also has a big team of people working with him to become more confident, and to show him that we are there to help him and to love him. With proper intros, Ace is making friends left and right! If you are wondering, proper intros for Ace means no direct eye contact, speaking softly, offering treats, and letting him approach you. It can take some time for that tail to become untucked and that`s okay. You can`t rush this kind of thing. You know when you have Ace`s seal of approval because he will show you his naughty side! We diligently redirect him and he is learning quickly what kind of behavior gets rewarded. And who doesn`t love rewards?! You may also get some nibbly kisses once he really feels comfortable with you. According to his surrender notes, Ace is house trained, crate trained, and has lived with another dog. He is afraid of lawn mowers but loves car rides, squeaky toys, and tug of war. His notes also say, `He barks when he sees someone. Then hides. Adonis (A824072) and Morpheus (A824074) make the sweetest pair! Since they arrived at the shelter in early October, they have really warmed up to people and become much more outgoing and sociable. These boys enjoy playing with toys, chasing each other, birdwatching, and snuggling each other. All we can think when we look at Angus is, `GAH!! How can a dog be this cute?!` That wrinkled face, the smooshy lips, the sneaky side-eye... it`s all too adorable!Angus is one of those dogs who thrives once he has some consistency and guidance. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was so afraid that he would hide under his bed. But after lots of positive interactions, Angus learned that the staff and volunteers were there to help him and take care of him. He definitely has his enthusiastic moments but he calms with appropriate redirection, and focus games are his jam! Angus loves toys and one of his favorite things to do is select a toy from the toy bin and then throw it around in the air. Yippee!Angus is always super excited to make friends. Hey new person, are you my fren? Yes! What about you, mister, you my fren, too? Ok! And that person over there not looking at me, can they also be my fren? Yay! Angus is also very dog social and enjoyed going to play group at the shelter. We think he would love to live with a doggy friend, or go on regular play dates!We know from his time in foster that Angus is house trained and crate trained. He walks nicely on a leash and wants to sniff allllll the things! Angus is still a youngin so he sometimes decides to chew on stuff he is not supposed to, but he trades nicely for a treat or an appropriate toy. Angus would do well in most home environments but we would not recommend young kiddos since he can sometimes get jumpy/mouthy when he is excited.I weigh approximately 57 lbs. Meet Annie! She is a young, energetic pup who is understably getting frustrated with shelter life. Annie loves being around people and her favorite thing is getting some snuggles and pets. She recently got to go on a hike with some other pups and she had SO much fun sniffin` all the things and meeting all the people! Annie also showed friendly and curious interest in the other pups, so there is potential for her to live with a confident and playful resident dog. Annie loves car rides and is ready to zoom-zoom right into a home! The Orange Dot Crew (a volunteer advocacy group at Austin Animal Center) will be there every step of the way to make sure that Annie is set up for success with her new family.I weigh approximately 55 lbs. Apricot shines best as a personal human companion for adults and older children. There`s a soft side to Apricot and she loves to show it. She has great home manners and prefers a home with human companionship where she won`t be left for long, long hours daily but she is indeed crate trained for those shorter stretches when her people are away. Apricot is part of the Classic Canines nonprofit advocacy program at Austin Animal Center. show less

Artful Dodger, also known as Artful D, or just Artie, is as cute as they come. At just 6 months old, Artie is still very much a puppy, with a lot of puppy-hood left ahead. This little tyke`s favorite activities include: playing with people, playing with toys, playing with all new friends, napping, playing, eating snacks and more napping. We do not know much about Artful Dodger before he arrived at the shelter, but we know he was owned previously, and given his young age, could fit into any number of homes, provided that he was loved and given an outlet for his puppy playful energy. show less

Ash is a sweet, very easy going goofy boy with medium energy and loves to play with you or his siblings. Even though he’s a little guy, he’s quick to give a very big purr and loves the attention. He mostly plays with his four siblings (A801555, A801556, A801557, A801579) wrestling and right in the middle of it even though he was the runt of the litter. He loves chewing on mice, any string toys and enjoys hand wrestling as shown in the picture. Even though he’s still the smallest of his litter, he’s tough and plays hard, jumping into any wrestling match. He sleeps and plays with all of his sibs so you could mix and match if you’d like a pair.He purrs immediately when I talk to him sleeping on the cat tree and even more so when you pet him I pick him up. I pick him up even if he’s playing, to carry around and he’s find but may want down if he’s busy. He’ll play with my feet in my Birks while I sit and my desk and will come up and give a small chirp for attention to get in my lap if I don’t see him. He’ll stay if he asks for lap time but if his siblings are playing he might want to get down to join his brothers and sister. Most of the time, he’ll jump up to the back of the couch or a closer cat tree perch for attention if you walk by and he’s up.He has light soft voice and will chirp at to you for attention and on occasion will talk to you. He’s excellent on the litter box and is pretty easy to clip his nails when he’s sleepy. Even with his siblings to chase, he really tries to get my seven year old cat’s attention to play but is gentle and doesn’t jump on her. He can be a little shy around new people but warms up pretty quickly.
