Teddy. Teddy Bear. Tedward. This boy. Back in 2016, Teddy was pretty much the shelter’s mascot. He was a long stay, staff and volunteer favorite with a few quirks... a beloved member of our shelter community. He was in and out of a few different homes - none of them quite the right fit. He became an expert in the art of shelter resilience. And then HIS turn finally came… he was adopted and for over three years he had a home and a person that were all his. But, in spring 2020, just as the world was shutting down he was returned to the shelter for reasons having nothing to do with him. Fortunately, Teddy’s shelter stay was short and he landed an amazing foster home - where he has now been for almost a year. Home life has always looked good on this boy - and these days it looks exceptional on him. Teddy is one of those dogs who has struggled in busy environments - the fast paced nature of the world has always been a bit too much for him. Yet over the last year, he has developed some tools to manage those anxieties - and it shows! Teddy may always need the support of his humans and some assistance managing the things that make him anxious… but boy is he trying - so hard! Teddy is such a good dog and his fosters feel like he is now ready to transition to a forever home. And so here we are! World meet Teddy. Let’s get this guy home for good. Fortunately, as a well known shelter super star, Teddy comes with the support of many friends and advocates. Teddy will go home with support from Classic Canines and the Orange Dot Crew (volunteer advocacy groups at the shelter), a goody bag of enrichment items, and free training support thanks to Friends of AAC and their Behavior Assistance Program. Reach out to Teddy’s current foster at to learn more about him!
