Admiral wins the heart of everyone he meets. He's in a foster home in Austin, Texas with our most experienced foster, Frank. Frank has been working with Admiral with the help of a trainer, and Admiral has learned some great skills that will help him be a terrific pet. Check out the video! On walks, Admiral is easy to handle and just loves being out. He's a little scared of traffic and we'd love to see him find a home in a quiet neighborhood. Admiral loves going to the river and splashing around. He likes toys, and he loves treats. Admiral will make a wonderful companion for an experienced dog owner. show less

Billie needs a foster or adopter who will help her through heartworm treatment. Costs are covered; she just needs a quiet home. Billie is a sweet, friendly girl who is tolerant of all sorts of handling. At a recent vet visit, her tail never stopped wagging! Billie seems to be fine with kids, and she might be okay with another big dog, with proper introductions and supervision. Are you looking for some fun and excitement? I'm up for the job! Me and my big sissy Princess just love going on adventures and giving our human friends lots of good exercise out in the great outdoors. Whether you're in the mood for hiking, swimming or ball throwing, we're game. We are the perfect companions for those who enjoy playing fetch and giving belly rubs. We love our human friends very much, and we like to show our affection by making them laugh! They tell me that I'm kind of a character with my rakish grin and playful demeanor. It's nearly impossible to not smile in my presence! True to my breed, I'm loyal and loving through and through. I also have a few quirks that carried over from my hard luck life back in California, where I struggled with shelter life. They almost split me and my sis apart, but Final Frontier swooped in and saved the day. As I said, I'm Lucky! So I'm optimistic that another hero will step right up and take the two of us home. Our ideal adopter would have experience with German Shepherds and the patience to give us slow introductions to new people. We will also need a backyard for running and playing. So what do you say? If you are looking for a playful older dog, Max is your boy. Max is a nine year old Labrador mix looking for a home for napping, spending some time outside, or just playing with his tennis balls. Max has shown his appreciation for water even in just a doggy pool but also enjoys water in nature. Max's human cannot run out of tennis balls! He prefers to have two in his mouth with one between the paws. That is his doggy heaven. He will also play tug of war and keep away. He is a good fetcher. Sometimes he is ready for another throw and other times Max will drop it for you. Max is looking for a home where he can get some activity but a nice place to enjoy the indoor weather, too. As a black dog, Max would appreciate a back yard pool. Apartment living would also be a good choice since Mac does sleep the day away while his humans away. Max’s foster works from home and reports Max is an easy going dog who does not interrupt her day but also knows when it is time for a break and when the clock says 5:00pm. show less

Oreo needs a foster or adoptive home during her heartworm treatment. Costs are covered; she just needs a quiet place. Oreo is an energetic, affectionate, very smart girl who loves her people and wants to please them. We think she'd do best as an only pet for now. Oreo is currently living in a boarding kennel because we don't have a foster home for her. In the play yard at the kennel, she got the hang of going over a hurdle right away, and she quickly learns everything we teach her. Oreo will make a wonderful companion in an active home, as soon as she gets through the restricted activity required for heartworm treatment. show less

Peanut is a sweet, silly, sometimes nutty senior with a few manageable medical issues. She's mostly mellow but gets sudden bursts of puppy energy. She's a little shy with new people, but once she's comfortable, she'll show you her silly side. Peanut came to us with a mast cell tumor, which we had removed, and she is on prescription food for her kidneys. Peanut would love a home with adults where she will be the only pet. show less

German Shepherd fans, you're in for a treat! I'm a pretty, pretty Princess with a heart of gold and a zest for adventure. True to my breed, I'm loyal, loving and devoted to my humans. So if you're in the market for not just one, but two new best friends, come meet me and my little brother Lucky today! So you can understand us better, I'll tell you a bit of our back story. Lucky and I came to Texas by way of California, where we were in danger of being separated at a shelter. Our friends at Final Frontier swooped in and saved the day, and now we are waiting at the shelter for the forever home that we've been dreaming about since puppyhood. Take us home and you'll be rewarded with many years of loyal companionship, adventure and unconditional love. While my goofy brother can chase balls all day long (sigh), I entertain myself with treats, treats, and more treats! Although you can't tell by my girlish figure, I'm kind of a chow hound. I'm also a champion swimmer and love taking a dip in the lake every chance I get--just as long as we're not being bothered by other dogs. We don't enjoy dog-social scenes and prefer to just enjoy the company of our trusted human friends. All we need is a big back yard and humans who understand and appreciate our boundaries. As for my other winning qualities, I'm a super chill leash walker and am happy to stay right by your side on our nature walks. My idea of the perfect date would be a long country stroll (we can walk for miles!), a refreshing dip in the river, and lounging in the sun while watching the clouds drift by. Sienna is an exuberant young girl! She's full of enthusiasm and energy and she loves treats, and toys, and walks, and playing in the river, and most of all, she loves her people. Sienna has not had much stability in her short life, and she would definitely benefit from a consistent structure to her life as well as some basic training. Sienna has so much potential to be a solid, comforting presence in her person's life, and to bring them joy and laughter with her antics. show less

Tori was found in a rural area, and her finders tied her out in front of their house, hoping her owners would come looking for her. A good Samaritan saw her tied there and was worried about her, and we rescued her from there. No one ever came looking for her. Tori has a malformed front leg/foot, and maybe she was dumped for that reason, but she doesn't let it slow her down. Tori is pretty shy with new people, but she mostly gets along with other animals of all kinds, and she's now accustomed to living in a home and all the amenities. Tori is oh-so-ready for a foster or adopter who will cherish her and never let her wander off or dump her! show less
