About Keira

DOB: 6/1/11 Keira is a beautiful sweet cat who came to us with her sister Gracie after her 'people' mommy passed away. She has the softest fur imaginable. When I got her, while it took her only 4 days to come out for the evening canned food, she hid for at least 4 months wither sister and would only come out in the evening for canned food. Over time she has changed and is always there when I come in. She loves to be pet (not picked up nor will she stay on my lap). She purrs and is very chatty especially when she know the canned food is coming.  She still hides from my husband so a home with females, might be best. She MIGHT warm up to a male if there is lots of patience but I honestly can’t tell that for sure.  She would probably  love a quiet gentle teenager but Kiki would not do well with small kids. Keira would be best as an “only” cat in a quiet home. She can get along with other cats but doesn’t cuddle, play or hang out with them. For a quiet home “Kiki” is worth the small amount of time it would take to get used to each other. Keira is worth it! DOB: 6/1/18 Ash is a wonderful boy. He was part of a group of cats owned by 1 man who lived alone and passed away 2 days before Christmas, 2020.  While this man was in the hospital trying to survive a stroke, his brother forced all of the cats outside and abandoned them with no care or food.  The community got involved to trap, care and support these animals who lost their dad who never came back home.  He has been in my foster care ever since December of last year.    Ash is very sweet and active.  He uses a litter box and scratch post very well.  He typically enjoys being commingled with other cats once he gets used to them.  But he can be a solo cat as well.  He is spayed, fully vaccinated and very healthy.  He loves to play with wand toys and will entertain you for hours.  He is a “great Goalie” catching toys in the air and trapping them on the ground.  He has not been around children or dogs; only cats both male and female.  He loves to be pet and lick treats right from the back of your hand.  He has a sweet purr that sounds similar to a pigeon cooing.  He is really a fun sweet boy. DOB: 1/26/21  Silly Aster is probably the wildest one of the group, yet incredibly affectionate and isn't shy about showing his love towards his foster Mom. He loves wrestling with his siblings, Indigo and Iris, but once he spots his favorite human, he runs over to her and sits on her lap or perches on her shoulder.  He loves giving kisses and getting his tummy rubbed too. He is a very high energy kitten who loves playtime with his siblings and is always the first one to the bowl when it's time to eat. Due to his young age and energy level, this adorable kitty would love to be adopted with one of his siblings. These siblings have truly bonded and need to be adopted in pairs only. DOB: 2/27/21 Meet Barry of the Bee Gees Kittens, along with his siblings Robin and Maurice. Barry is gorgeous, fluffy, and talented but doesn't hog the spotlight. For example, he'll happily let his siblings eat first, waiting patiently for his moment to shine.  While Barry has plenty of kitten energy, he's mellow and relaxed, and has dreamy blue eyes. Besides wrestling with his siblings, his favorite activities are napping, snuggling, and watching birds out the window. He was the first of his litter to purr and, not surprising, he's got a musical motor. He's an absolute sweetheart and loves to be petted. When he wants more snuggles he'll give you a gentle little meow to let you know he's not done!   Barry would love to be adopted with one of his baby siblings, Maurice or Robin, or will need to be adopted into a home that already has a young playful cat.  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB: 2/6/18 Blade is a very sweet kitty who gets along with other cats. A bit of a shy guy, he responds to pets and attention, but will have a longer adjustment arc to a new environment. Prior to coming in to rescue, Blade was living as a stray in the valley, doing his best to stay alive. While he was on the streets, he injured his front leg. A vet exam revealed that he did not need an amputation. Though he can not use his leg fully, he can plant on it and is able to get around well and get on the lower levels of cat trees, and he can probably get on the sofa to binge watch your favorite show with you.  After all he has been through, this gentle kitty can't wait to find his forever home. DOB: 3/1/14 Briggs and Cheyenne are a bonded pair of slightly older cats who definitely don't act their age -- and all the better for us, 'cause the fun and antics know no end with these two. Here are some words that Briggs's foster mom uses to describe this endearing fellow: Playful and mischievous, curious and persistent, sweet, affectionate and cuddly, funny and cute, talkative and loud, easy going. She says he gets along great with other cats, he's very people oriented and wants to be where his human is, but isn't clingy, he gives kisses, and most of all, he's got TONS of personality.   And this is what she says about Brigg's girlfriend Cheyenne: Besides being a real beauty, Cheyenne is sweet and affectionate, she starts purring the second you touch her, she's independent but also loving, she's playful, confident, and she gets along with other pets that are friendly. She's a lovely lady cat and an all-around good girl.   So you can see these two are a couple of wonderful felines. They're healthy and youthful, upbeat and loving, easy going and fun. What more could a person ask for? Would you like to be the lucky one??? DOB: 1/10/2009 Hi!  I'm Brody and I'm an amazing cat!  Yes, I'm a senior citizen, but I'm still very active, playful and I'm very affectionate.  In fact, my foster mom says I'm quite a character!  I'm sort of like a dog, because I come running when you call me, I greet you at the door, and I beg for food!  I was rescued off the street when my previous owners moved away and kicked me outside, where I became very sick and almost died.  After several months of vet care and a special diet, I am now healthy and ready to be a 'special' companion to a very special human.  I hate dogs and I'm okay with other cats, as long as they're not aggressive or territorial, because I like to be the 'alpha' male of the house.  Everyone who meets me falls in love with me! DOB: 4/2/20 *****Cheeks is Feline Leukemia Virus Positive**** Our Cheeks is a great boy! He survived panleukopenia as a kitten, but was then diagnosed with FeLV. He arrived in our FeLV Suite from his foster home he had a lot of spunk, energy, and sass. Cheeks has mellowed out as he has grown up, but though he still likes to play with the other cats in the FeLV suite. He has become an attentive, and sometimes bossy, big brother to some of the kittens who currently live with him.  He would be fine in a home with another FeLV positive cat, or on this own. Cheeks is a friendly companion cat who will want to be with you, playing with your shoelaces or playing with a toy.  He gets easily involved in wand toys, laser toys, and anything with a mouse.  Generally, Cheeks will follow people who come into the FeLV Suite around and then take his chance to cuddle with them or play. Cheeks just celebrated his first birthday and is ready for a forever home! Please follow Cheeks and his friends on their IG page: felvcatsofkittenrescue If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting [im, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 2/1/16 SPECIAL NEEDS: STOMATITIS The first things you will notice about Corey is his sweet disposition, his love for affection and his soft, plush fur that makes you want to run your fingers through it every chance you get...and he loves it when you do.  Corey is not afraid to make new friends and is affectionate with every human he meets. He also has a confident, easy-going personality to round out his winning traits.  This sweet boy was recently diagnosed with Stomatitis after he underwent full mouth dental extractions. Corey requires an adopter that is willing and able to take him to the vet for regular injections when his gums flare up. Aside from flare ups of Stomatitis, Corey is a happy, healthy kitty that loves attention, affection and wet food.  Stomatitis is not contagious so Corey can be adopted into a home with another friendly cat or he can be adopted into a single pet household.  You are welcome to meet this handsome boy and see for yourself what a gem he is. DOB:  6/19/12 Dakota is a chill dude with a short, crooked tail.  He likes to hang out and observe his environment,  but he always down for playing with any type of string toy. Dakota tolerates brushing and petting to an extent, being more on the independent side vs. wanting to glue himself to a human. Dakota's ideal person would have some experience with cats and would give him a chance to relax into his environment.  Though we haven't seen him get involved in mutual grooming sessions, he does get along with most cats and could do well in a home where he was the only kitty or could share the space with other cat tolerant cats. Dakota is ready for his special person to take him home. DOB:  7/20/12 Special Needs: Needs a savvy cat parent  Delilah was rescued as a feral kitten in 2012, off the streets of Canoga Park.  She is quite a special cat and needs a super patient, loving human or humans who will give her time to get comfortable with her new surroundings.  Although Delilah lives in a house with other rescue kitties, she tends to be a bit insecure, and exhibits behavior which translates to bullying behavior to other shy or submissive kitties.  That is why I believe she will thrive most in an “only cat” home.  This will allow her sweet personality to come to the foreground, without having to worry about the mixing of personalities.  Delilah has been living in a home with a very mild mannered, well behaved foster dog.  Their introduction was slow and deliberate with ample time separated, to allow for scent and sounds to become normalized.  Delilah is very playful and will benefit from a loving engaged adopter, who might also be willing to put Delilah on a diet, so that she can shed the weight she has gained from stress eating due to a shared living space with other kitties.  Delilah loves to dip her paws in her water bowl/fountain, so she will need a towel under her water bowl, or an absorbing or silicone mat to allow her natural instincts to thrive without conflicting with human rules.  I will remain involved and available for as long as necessary to accommodate Delilah’s smooth transition to her furever home, and will help the proper home with any advice on how to better bond with her.  She truly is a special kitty who will jump into the lap of anyone sitting down, and demand pets and give head-butts, and will make a loving, eccentric lap kitty for a patient and savvy adopter, who will give her the time and attention she deserves to be the awesome kitty she already is.  Please look into your heart and see if this scrumptious, sassy “only kitty” is the right fit for your home.   Instagram: @niloo_rescues_animals If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB:  11/13/12 **** SPECIAL NEEDS*****SEIZURE DISORDER****   When we saw Devon at a city shelter we couldn't help getting him out. He has beautiful gold eyes and who can resist a tripod kitty?! We can't imagine how he survived on the streets fending for himself with only three legs, but somehow this resilient kitty did. When Devon arrived at our sanctuary, he was friendly and easy going, but one day he had a mood swing and became very aggressive. At that time we also noticed that there were some physical tics and realized he was having a seizure. We took him to a vet and started him on anti-seizure medication, and we were happy to see him stabilize and become again the happy, easy going kitty that he was when he first arrived. He gets medication three times a day.    Devon likes to nap on the beds around the sanctuary with his belly in the air and his legs akimbo. He enjoys getting pets and rubbing affectionately rubbing his head on people's legs. He will sometimes swat at people as the walk past him to get their attention for pets.    Devon is tolerant of the other cats that he lives with, but would also be happy as a solo kitty. DOB: 10/26/18 Dorothy is as soft and sweet as a bunny! She is the best friend you are looking for! She will play and she will cuddle! She gets along with every cat she has ever met!  She enjoys chin scratches, warm laps, hanging out, playing, and making cute trilling sounds to tell you how much she loves you!   This little girl was adopted when she was 4 months old.  She doesn't understand that her adopter mom had to leave the country suddenly.  She only knows that the home she grew up in was taken from her and her adopted brother Panda!  She and Panda clung to each other when they were returned.  Now they are comfortable in the Adoption Center they were returned to and they get along great with all the other kitties! Dorothy was a bottle baby so she has a natural instinct to find comfort with her people.  She never wants to be abandoned again! And we don’t want that either!    Please consider Dorothy with her pal Panda, because they are a great pair. But Panda can also be adopted by herself if her people have enough time to keep her company for the rest of her life!  If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent.
