Brutus is a connoisseur of life's simple joys: savoring good food, embracing short, rejuvenating walks, and basking in the warmth of the sun. His lifelong experience as an emotional support dog testifies to his comforting and empathetic nature. Sadly, Brutus has been separated from his previous owner, who was bravely battling cancer and had to move into a pet-restricted facility. Although alert, she exudes a peaceful aura: she'll sound the alarm if necessary, but is not aggressive. Upon mastering house training, Cocoa is poised to be a dream pet: no destruction, no undue noise, and she'll happily sleep through the night in her crate, perhaps even indulging in a morning snooze. Dash is a happy go lucky guy! His smile alone brightens up your day. Dash loves to run around the yard playing fetch while chewing on a good ol' squeaky toy. He is incredibly friendly, eager to please and keen to learn. He has an energetic yet calm nature and is relatively quiet with the occasional adorable squeaks and barks. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and will quickly learn other commands if taught. Dash also does an amazing job entertaining himself with the proper toys. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs, and bounces around with joy. Dash is ready to love and be loved. Despite exhaustive efforts, no owner was found. Upon arrival at Sonoma's Haven, Luca was in a pitiful state - his coat so matted and infested with fleas that shaving it down to the skin was the only recourse. Possessing a shy nature, Luca may seem slightly reserved when introduced to new people. However, under the gentle touch and soft-spoken words of a kind stranger, he quickly learns to trust, determining whether you're a friend to lean on. Inheriting the distinctive curly fur of a Poodle, Luca is likely to require regular grooming once his beautiful coat grows back in full splendor. In the time he's been with us, Luca has revealed his delightful playful streak. He takes great pleasure in chasing toys, throwing them up in the air, and the joy in his eyes as he fetches them is absolutely infectious! Luca is an exemplary companion during walks, staying comfortably by your side on a leash. He also maintains a clean kennel, further reflecting his well-mannered nature. Once fully recovered from his recent neuter surgery, we plan to conduct a dog compatibility test for Luca. Mia exhibits extraordinary patience with children and other dogs, and has passed the cat test with flying colors, making her an ideal candidate for a household with a feline companion. She thrives on interaction, loves to share her toys, and forms an instant bond that includes active playtime and cozy cuddles on the couch. Her sharp intellect and craving for attention make her an ideal student for further training. Mia's journey to happiness had a rocky start. Initially, despite her endearing personality, she seemed to carry an unshakeable sadness. Even with quality food and extra feedings, her weight didn't improve. Our vigilant team, dedicated to Mia's well-being, soon intervened. Comprehensive veterinary examinations and blood work revealed the root cause: Exocrine Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency (EPI). Mia's pancreas wasn't producing enough enzymes to digest her food, thus she couldn't absorb nutrients and gain weight. Undeterred by the diagnosis, we started Mia on a lifelong medication course, resulting in a remarkable transformation. Mia now brims with vivacious energy, making the most of her days, and contentedly winding down in the comfort of a loving lap. Her monthly food and medication cost is approximately $100-$150, an investment we are prepared to cover for the initial four months. It was paramount to investigate Mia's health struggles, and it's heartening to see her renewed vitality. We're hopeful that there's a perfect home out there for Mia, a home that will witness her overcoming obstacles and reaching her full potential, enriching their lives with the extraordinary love and joy that is Mia. show less

Picasso is one of the happiest dogs that we have in our care! He is energetic, smart and housebroken! Picasso has been tested with many dogs (too many to count!) and has proven himself to be "dog smart", meaning he approaches any dog he meets in an appropriate fashion, adopts a submissive body stance and waits for play to be initiated. Picasso loves playing with other dogs, whether it is one dog or a whole group of them, and has never shown any resource guarding with toys, water or food bowls. He happily shares what is available to play with, including *gasp* a mud hole! Fair warning, though, once done wallowing in the mud, he is not a fan of getting a bath. Picasso did pass his cat testing. We feel he would make a wonderful, warm and funny addition to an active family or individual. show less
