About Winston

🐾 Meet Winston, the epitome of tranquility and charm! This young pup possesses the serene demeanor of a classic American "house hippo," radiating contentment in every interaction. Winston's gentle nature and love for belly rubs will undoubtedly steal your heart from the moment you meet him.

His calm curiosity and innate responsiveness make him an exceptional candidate for training, as he seamlessly adapts to your lifestyle. Winston takes pleasure in simple joys like rolling in the grass and engaging in mellow play sessions. After a day of delightful activities, he transforms into an affectionate companion, showering you with tender kisses and embodying the essence of true canine companionship.

On walks, Winston showcases impressive leash manners and has a soft spot for relaxed games of tug of war. He would thrive in a home that matches his own quiet and patient nature, one that appreciates affection and gentle interactions.

Winston's amiable attitude extends to other dogs of all sizes and genders, and he respectfully coexists with cats, setting the standard for a well-balanced canine companion. He's a true social butterfly and enjoys playful interactions with furry friends.

During our time with Winston, we were charmed by his endearing piggy snorts while eating, his impeccable kennel manners (sleeping quietly through the night), and his quick bond with people. He adores being around his human companions and relishes ear scratches and belly rubs, cherishing every moment of affection.

This playful pup's enthusiasm for life knows no bounds. He loves playing fetch and tug of war, and his joy is contagious when engaging in games like keep away. But Winston also has a softer side, enjoying snuggling up in a cozy bed and being your most loyal companion.

Although baths may not be his favorite activity, Winston surprised us with his calm and sweet demeanor during grooming time, demonstrating his amiable disposition even during less preferred activities.

Winston is a smart little guy who already knows how to sit, shake paws, and he's been diligently working on perfecting the "down" command. With the right treats and some patience, he will excel in his training, proving to be a well-mannered and attentive learner.

Considering his size and energetic nature, Winston would be best suited for a home with older children or no children. He's unsure of how to react when children are yelling and playing loudly, making an environment with calmer surroundings ideal for him. However, an active family that can devote time to training will find Winston to be the perfect addition to their household.

We also witnessed Winston playing exceptionally well with another dog, which leads us to believe he would thrive in a home with other canine friends. Having a playmate would undoubtedly bring out the best in him and keep him engaged and content.

Take a chance on Winston, and you'll welcome not just a pet but also a serene and comforting presence into your home – an affectionate companion who will undoubtedly enrich your life with joy and love. Don't miss this opportunity to meet Winston and experience the magic of his gentle soul and irresistible charm! 🐶❤️

Meet Angus, a delightful dog whose personality and appearance are reminiscent of an Ayrshire cow, both in looks and demeanor. Angus has led a very difficult life up until now, bearing physical scars that tell a story of resilience and strength. Despite these challenges, Angus shows no emotional scars, especially in his interactions with people, reflecting his incredible spirit and capacity for love. He's a master of the leash, walking with grace and poise, making him a perfect partner for strolls in the park or a brisk walk around the neighborhood. His friendly demeanor extends to everyone he meets, greeting new people with a wagging tail and a happy, gentle spirit. It's possible that Angus's challenging past involved being used as a bait dog or surviving on the streets, where he faced various attacks from other dogs. As a result, Angus is understandably dog selective. He tends to do well with female dogs and those of his own size. In his ideal home, Angus would start out as the only dog, with the possibility of gradually introducing another canine companion that he is comfortable with. Despite his past, Angus's world is a tapestry of scents, and he loves nothing more than to explore and sniff around. He remains docile and soft in his approach, exuding a quiet and soft personality that's like a warm, comforting blanket. Angus is the king of zoomies and bursts into playful sprints that are sure to bring laughter and joy. He is strong so given his aptness for zoomies would do best with kids 7 and up. His playfulness is balanced with his gentle interactions, never mouthy or overly boisterous. Happiness is Angus's default mode, often expressed in an adorable happy dance that's as heartwarming as it is entertaining. His love for treats and food makes him an eager learner, especially enthusiastic when it comes to learning new tricks like 'sit'. Angus loves to be involved, often following his favorite humans around the house, wanting to be a part of everything. Above all, Angus is a joy to be around, his happy demeanor and loving personality making him the perfect addition to any home looking for a furry friend who brings both peace and excitement into their lives. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and gentle companion who has overcome adversity with a remarkable spirit, Angus is waiting to fill your days with joy and love. show less

Howdy, I’m Bacon!  I’m approximately 55lbs and 2 years old but my foster mom says I’m anold soul. I am known for being an epic snuggler and love being with foster fam which includes my people (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and my St. Bernard foster sister named Delilah.  My perfect day would start with my breakfast (I love food! Especially in an enrichment toy!) rolling on my back in the grass soaking up some sun, playing with my stuffed animals, dinner (did I mention I love food?) cuddling with my humans, going for long walks, and playing tug with my human and dog foster siblings!  I am really smart and catch on quickly; I have not had any accidents in my fosters house and even taught myself the doggy door so I can go out to sunbathe on the back deck. When meeting new people I prefer they come bearing treats so I know they are safe, and I love playing with dogs but need a slow introduction to set things off on the right paw. Once I do, we will be best buddies! A few other things you should know about me:   I’m OK in a crate but my foster parents let me sleep in the bedroom with them because I’m such a good boy.  I have good leash manners and rarely pull but I do feel more confident when my foster sister dog walks with me – what does he do when he is alone?  I looove car rides and will get into the car even when there isn’t anywhere to go! Feel free to take me on any curbside grocery pickups  I will bark when dogs or people walk past the house or of the doorbell rings. (but am able to be called away with the TOUCH cue easily?)  I understand several cues including: SIT, TOUCH, DOWN, OUT OF THE KITCHEN, WALK-WALK, TREAT, KENNEL and the funniest of all FOOT (which means it’s time to move from the pillows to the foot of the bed) I would really love a family that would keep working with me and training me new things so I don’t get bored!  We just started working on: drop it, down and stay (though I did learn that stay means don’t run out the back door when Foster Mom is leaving) My mom says I’m ‘mouthy’ which means: “I have learned to get attention with my mouth, like a puppy!”. By following my trainer’s instructions (If he mouths, immediately disengage to teach him this is NOT an effective way to get attention) my mouthiness has reduced by 90%! But because of this, I may be intimidating to small children and should be in a home with kids who are old enough to follow instructions. My ideal family would have a dog for me to play with, bigger kids, no cats, a yard to sunbathe and run around in, and the desire to help me continue to work on training.  I have been waiting for my people for a while, and although I really love my foster family, I am ready for the next step in my life! Introducing Drax! A charismatic charmer with an outsize personality as striking as his appearance, Drax is eager to find his forever home. Sporting a magnificent stature at 70lbs and believed to be an American Cattle Dog mix (though his looks suggest American bully), this 6-7 year old gentleman is a heart-stealer. His endearing, goofy nature is simply irresistible, and he carries an innate ability to convert anyone he meets into a devoted fan. Beneath his robust exterior lies a teddy bear-like disposition; Drax is brimming with affection and would gladly curl up in your lap given the opportunity. His boundless love for people shines through in every interaction, reinforcing his innate role as a companion. In terms of living arrangements, Drax would thrive best as the sole pet in his new home, as he holds a dominant streak in his character. He relishes the human company above all else and displays a marked dislike for confinement in a crate, an aspect that can be mitigated with patient training. Due to his large size, we recommend a household without small children. Notwithstanding his size, his charm, love, and eagerness to please are traits that will fit perfectly in a home that is able to give him the space, love, and attention he deserves. If you're in search of a loveable goofball with a heart as big as his head, Drax might just be your perfect match! Will you be the lucky one to become Drax's forever family? show less

Meet Koko: A Bundle of Joy and Playfulness Koko is a beacon of happiness, a truly sweet and playful girl who can only be described as a gem. Her love for other dogs is heartwarming; she adores both male and female companions and is adored in return. Koko's playfulness is inclusive and joyful, making her a delightful playmate for any dog. While she's not particularly fond of puppies, perhaps due to her past as a breeding dog, she tolerates them with grace. She similarly shows patience with small dogs, though she sometimes mistakes them for puppies. Her interactions with children are nothing short of angelic. Koko is incredibly gentle with kids of all ages, showing exceptional care with toddlers as young as one year old. She approaches them with an endearing army crawl for a gentle sniff and tolerates their curious pokes and tugs with the utmost patience. Toys and bones are among Koko's favorite things; she finds great joy in playing with them. At the end of a playful day, she loves curling up at your feet, often adorning her charming unicorn pajamas. While she enjoys her rest, Koko bursts with exuberant joy when awake, embodying all the adorable traits you'd hope for in a dog. From taking other dogs for a walk with their leash to chasing hose water, she's a delight to watch. Despite some old injuries from her past life, Koko's quality of life remains unaffected. Her adorable snores are a testament to her contentment. She exhibits no food aggression and eats well alongside other dogs. However, her love for food means she might sneak a treat if left within her reach. Koko enjoys her walks, sometimes a bit too enthusiastically, pulling on the leash as if she's leading a sled. She appreciates shorter walks, especially if she's had a good play session. Her ideal home would be one where she can enjoy a balance of playful activity and rest, surrounded by a loving family that appreciates her joyous spirit and gentle soul. In summary, Koko is a loving, playful, and gentle dog, perfect for a family that values the joy and companionship a dog like her brings. Her ability to blend playfulness with gentleness makes her an ideal companion for a home with other pets and children. If you're looking for a dog that embodies happiness and love, Koko is waiting to fill your life with joy and laughter. show less

Presenting the ever-loving Mia, a bundle of joy who extends her affection to everyone and everything she encounters, regardless of their size. Mia exhibits extraordinary patience with children and other dogs, and has passed the cat test with flying colors, making her an ideal candidate for a household with a feline companion. She thrives on interaction, loves to share her toys, and forms an instant bond that includes active playtime and cozy cuddles on the couch. Her sharp intellect and craving for attention make her an ideal student for further training. Mia's journey to happiness had a rocky start. Initially, despite her endearing personality, she seemed to carry an unshakeable sadness. Even with quality food and extra feedings, her weight didn't improve. Our vigilant team, dedicated to Mia's well-being, soon intervened. Comprehensive veterinary examinations and blood work revealed the root cause: Exocrine Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency (EPI). Mia's pancreas wasn't producing enough enzymes to digest her food, thus she couldn't absorb nutrients and gain weight. Undeterred by the diagnosis, we started Mia on a lifelong medication course, resulting in a remarkable transformation. Mia now brims with vivacious energy, making the most of her days, and contentedly winding down in the comfort of a loving lap. Her monthly food and medication cost is approximately $100-$150, an investment we are prepared to cover for the initial four months. It was paramount to investigate Mia's health struggles, and it's heartening to see her renewed vitality. We're hopeful that there's a perfect home out there for Mia, a home that will witness her overcoming obstacles and reaching her full potential, enriching their lives with the extraordinary love and joy that is Mia. show less
