Arthur is a 4 year old Harlequin Great Dane. He, unfortunately much like many Great Danes, was given up by his family who purchased him as a puppy and then had no interest in him as he grew up . Arthur has spent a majority of his life alone in a small dirt kennel, even on hot days and cold nights, with no toys or even a dog bed. He’s a total love bug and would love nothing more than to be pet all day. He’s a curious guy and enjoys chasing a soccer ball around the yard and laying in the grass. Arthur is great with kids and quickly made friends with his foster parents’ 12 year old nephew. He is picking up training quickly but will need you to dedicate time and patience to continue working with him. Due to his size he may not be suited for a family with toddlers or very young children. He hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs, but would be great as an only dog or with one sibling. If you'd like to add Arthur to your family please fill out an application at ruffhousedogs.org

Lucky is a 4-5 year old 65 pound sharpei mix. If you can't tell by the scars on this boys poor face he's lived a very rough life. We suspect he was a bait dog judging by all the scars along his whole body and face. He flinched when touched and is a broken down boy. But he is slowly coming along. He has never shown any aggression whatsoever. He's just shut down and needs patience and love to teach him how to be a normal dog. He knows his routines and hasn't had an accident inside the house and isn't destructive when left alone. He is very dog friendly but still doesn't know exactly how to play but is very patient. Lucky is not the type of dog that's going to go for hikes and walks the first few months of having him, he is broken down and needs time to warm up and shown lots of love. We don't know how long it will take Lucky to feel safe and "normal" so please only apply if you are ok with Lucky staying inside and warming up at his own pace. Lucky deserves a loving home to finally feel safe. If you'd like to add Lucky to your family please apply at ruffhousedogs.org
