About Leaveau (aka Monkey)

Adoption Fee: $250.00

Leveaux AKA Monkey is 8 year old female Boerboel (South African Mastiff). She is such a sweet hunk of love that just wants to be where you are.  Her tongue is almost always poking out a little bit, especially when she sleeps and it is adorable just like her. She is working on her house training, spayed, has yet to go all the way up stairs but if fine getting in and out of a car. Great with kids and very gentle in general though a little clumsy.

Monkey would do best in a home where she would be the only dog.

Hi Everyone! I'm Jojo, or Giovanna if we are being formal. As a lady my age and weight will always be a mystery but I'm told I don't look a day over 7 or weigh more than 100 pounds, about 90 actually. I am up to date on all of my vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed AND I have my stomach tacked. I know, I'm awesome. I'm also ready for my family! I'm searching for my forever home its taking FIVE EVER... I am the rescues longest resident and I keep wondering why no one wants me for forever. Now don't get me wrong. I absolutely love my foster family! They have taught me so much since I was found as a stray, ages ago!  Like any Cane Corso, my favorite thing to do is learn! What makes this even better for me is that I'm fostered with one of the Giant Hearts trainer!!!! They have been teaching me so much! My house manners have come so far and I can't wait to show you at our meet and greet!!  There are some things that are just me and that's just who I am. I don't like to share my high value toys, bones or treats. With anyone, dogs or people. Periodt. I've gotten better at this but still... I am who I am...  As the deva that I am, I'm just going to tell you what my perfect family looks like: (1 and 2 are absolute musts)  1.) I want ALL of your attention, so I best be the only dog. Occasional dog friends are okay.  2.) A family who has experience with dogs like me is a must. (Devas, Mastiffs, Guarding Breeds.. If you know - you know)  3.) I want to find my retirement home. So if you're retired, can I join?   Also, to my forever family: Why are you taking so long to find me? Have I not waited long enough?  If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out my Adoption Application!  show less

Odin will be starting two weeks of board and train on May 14th. We will still accept applications for him but meet and greets won't occurr while he's with the trainer!  About me! - Hi!! My foster fam calls me Odin! I’m about two years old, with a ton of puppy energy!  - I'm up to date on shots, neutered, house trained and crate trained. I am able to stay out while my humans are at work and just sleep on the couch!.  - I am very energetic, clumsy on my big feet and get the zoomies a lot. I make my humans laugh all the time with my goofy happy personality. - The words my humans use to describe me are "freight train" and "bull in a china shop". My favorite things: - walks, but due to my freight train tendencies, I need someone who can handle me on a leash and will take me to obedience classes. - soft toys and treats. - destroying squeaker toys [they don’t last long!] - snuggles - anytime my humans are on the couch, I insist on laying on top of them. - kids! - stealing socks, running away and getting chased by my human foster brother. My slight dislikes: - Getting in the car [once I’m in there I’m ok, but be prepared to lift my giant behind in. I will flatten myself to the ground in protest!] - Manners... They're boring, I need someone to make learning fun!  - Introductions to new dogs. My foster family has found that I'm great with puppies and small dogs, if I'm properly introduced to them. Most people don't understand how to properly introduce me, so it's best I go to a home without pets unless my new family is willing to work with my fosters and take it slow.  My Ideal Family:  - Will take me to obedience classes to help me learn manners and how to interact on a leash. (this will be an adoption requirement) - Socialize me to help me gain confidence - I would love to live with someone who is dog savy and understands how to keep me mentally and physically entertained. - Will be active and love to run around and play with me.  - I love my dog foster brother but feel insecure around other dogs so it’s best if my new family doesn’t have any pets. Adoption Requirements: [applications for Odin that do not meet these requirements will not be forwarded to the foster]  - Fenced in yard (6ft fence is ideal)  - Starting obedience classes within 3 months of adoption.  - Giant breed, working dog or bully breed experience.  - Someone who shows they can manage me on a leash at my meet and greet, and are capable of loading my chunky behind into the car.  So if you are lonely and looking for the worlds biggest snuggle bug and the happiest most goofy dog to make you laugh every day then I’m your dude!!! If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out my Adoption Application!  show less
