0321163 Come meet me at the Colorado Springs Pet Expo this weekend April 23-25! Friday 4-7 (adult dogs only), Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 11-4. Pet Expo adoptions happen on a first come, first served basis. We do our best to get all dogs there every day of the Expo, but sometimes dogs may get there late or only on a specific day. We recommend getting there at opening every day to check out our wide variety of dogs! I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! Hello world! My name is Amil but my foster mommy and daddy call me Bane. That name comes from Batman because well, Batman!!! (I was cared for by nerds ) I am about 10 weeks old and I have been told I’m a Lab mix but my foster parents think I definitely have some Husky in there somewhere because of my markings and my one blue eye! They also think I have some Husky mix because there’s been once or twice that I’ve back-talked and thrown a bit of a fit but it’s usually when I’m bored or hungry. I’m a very rambunctious little boy who loves to be close to my humans! I do love to play and take toys from my sister but I also have a very sweet and gentle side! My mommy says I listen the best when we are told to be “gentle” when playing I’m working on my potty training and sitting, along with waiting at my kennel door and waiting for food when it’s in front of me. I’m still learning but I’m doing very good so far! I’ve only met a couple big doggies but I do really well with them and I even sniffed a cat and a ferret (whatever that is), I wasn’t allowed to play with them but I was very polite and well behaved. I’m very smart and would love a family that is going to keep teaching me all the new things! I think I would also love a family that likes to go on hikes and take me outside a lot! If you think I would be a good fit in your family please let the other humans know! I would love nothing more than to find my forever family and to start loving you as soon as possible! show less

Hello world! My name is Amin but my foster mommy and daddy call me Zaz. That name comes from Batman because well, Batman!!! (I was cared for by nerds ) I am about 10 weeks old and I have been told I’m a Lab mix. My foster mommy knows there is something else too but isn’t quite sure what! They have doggy DNA tests and I think it would be really cool to know what else I am made of! I’m working on my potty training and sitting, along with waiting at my kennel door and waiting for food when it’s in front of me. I’m still learning but I’m doing very good so far! I’ve only met a couple big doggies but I do really well with them and I even sniffed a cat and a ferret (whatever that is), I wasn’t allowed to play with them but I was very polite and well behaved. Between myself, my brother, and my sister I am definitely the most cuddly!!! I LOOOOOVE belly scratches and will lay still for a long time as long as you keep scratching! If you want to make me sleep you just have to massage the back of my neck and I’m out like a light! I think that’s cheating because sometimes I try to fight the sleepy time but I just can’t! My mommy thinks I’m going to end up being a bit less energetic but it’s hard to know for sure because I’m still so little! So far I love my couch potato moments when my humans are holding me and loving me but I’m sure I would like the occasional walk/hike as well! I’m the smallest out of my litter and my brother and sister sometimes gang up on me during playtime but I’ve gotten bigger and stronger and can hold my own now! I have a big bark/growl but absolutely no bite! My favorite game is to steal my sister’s toys when she thinks she has them all to herself! My foster daddy says I’m one of the sweetest pups he’s ever seen! If you think I would be a good fit in your family please let the other humans know! I would love nothing more than to find my forever family and to start loving you as soon as possible! show less

My two brothers are mostly black but I got the lovely cream color fur! I’m a very smart and feisty little girl with a sweet streak! I think I had to learn to be tough early since I only have brothers! One of my favorite things to do is steal alllll the toys from my brothers and zoom off before they can do anything about it! My mommy says I might be the fastest one! They corner me eventually and then it’s a three way tug-of-war! I’m working on my potty training and sitting, along with waiting at my kennel door and waiting for food when it’s in front of me. I’m still learning but I’m doing very good so far! We recommend getting there at opening every day to check out our wide variety of dogs! I need a single family home since I seem to be part pittie! I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions. I am heartworm positive. Heartworm is NOT contagious. The rescue covers the cost of treatment at the rescue's vet.  Beautiful charismatic girl looking for a loving home! Do you love personality, fun and love? Then I’m your girl! My name is Baby and I’m an adorable 5 year old, ~60 pound, spayed Pittie mix. I have beautiful speckles and very soulful eyes. I love people and going for walks with all the sniffs (and I don’t pull unless I see something REALLY interesting). I’m an active girl who is curious about everything and learning what the world has to offer. I’m housebroken and love sleeping next to my people. I get along with other dogs my size or smaller with a slow introduction, but not with cats. I’m very sweet, loving and friendly but am strong so I’d probably do best with kids over 7. I am heartworm positive but I’ve finished all of my treatments! Please apply now to adopt me; I can’t wait to meet you! show less

I also seem to be part pittie, so I can NOT go to a home in a city or county with pitbull restrictions. Hi my name is Ballerina (my foster dad calls me Turbo). I’m a 10 week old female pitty. I sleep in my crate at night and don’t cry. Sometimes I will whine if I need to go potty but I don’t give much notice. I’m still learning that I need to potty outside, not in my crate or on the floor when I’m playing so I will need someone who is patient with me and will continue my training. I hop with my back legs and I sometimes lose my balance when I’m walking or standing. But once I get moving I’m pretty fast! I have lots of foster brothers and sisters here and get along good with all of them. When I’m out playing and some of them are crated I like to show them my pitty personality, I tell them that I have a big bark and I jump around and pounce at them to get their attention. My foster mom says I have the best face wrinkles, and the cutest wonky ears! I will probably grow up to be a strong girl and promise to love you forever! show less

Bell ( bella) 0421056)

0421056 I need a single family home with a fenced in yard since I require lots of physical and mental stimulation! Bella is a 3 year old border collie mix. She is a medium sized dog at 30 pounds; the perfect size for crawling up onto your lap for cuddles. While not particularly food or toy motivated, Bella is quick to learn and do what you ask in exchange for pets. She is very good at coming when you call, walking nicely on a leash, sitting, and staying. At night she goes into her crate well, especially if you pet her inside the crate. Bella is on the more timid side and is looking for a home that will be patient with her as she gets used to her surroundings. She had a few accidents in the house at first, but once she grew more comfortable she has been accident free with regular bathroom breaks outside. Because she is a bit more skittish, she would do best in a home with no children, or with older children who know how to give her space at first. She is not fond of the skateboarders she sees on walks. For the first few days, she lived with another dog. She co-existed with the 60 pounds dog, but did not seek out interactions. With a slow introduction, she could learn to live with a dog sibling, but she would also be happy being your only dog! When she is feeling totally relaxed, she will roll onto her back and sleep with her legs up and her tongue sticking out just a bit. When she's excited, she does an adorable play bow to let you know. She's more than happy to engage in a run around the backyard with you then. Bella is looking for her forever home that will help her build confidence. In return, she will give you all the kisses and cuddles you could ask for. show less

Pet Expo adoptions happen on a first come, first served basis. We do our best to get all dogs there every day of the Expo, but sometimes dogs may get there late or only on a specific day. We recommend getting there at opening every day to check out our wide variety of dogs! Meet Beethoven! He's a 6 year old poodle/bichon frise mix. He's about 17 lbs. When Beethoven came to me, his hair was horribly matted with knots and sticks. I had to shave him, but I did my best to keep some of his hair instead of a complete buzz down. That's why his haircut isn't even (because I'm no professional and I wanted to keep some of his length). His hair will easily grow back and he doesn't have any bald spots or skin problems--it's just my poor haircut job! You can see his "before" photo in the photos here!  This boy is a sweet cuddlebug. He loves to be pet and cuddled all the time! He is timid at first, but warms up very quickly. He was nervous around my husband the first few days, so he might be scared of men at first. He has since easily warmed up to my husband and loves going to him and cuddling with him. He does fine with kids. He doesn't actively seek out attention from them, though. Since he's on the smaller size, I would definitely make sure that any young kids don't try to pick him up all the time or pull on him--I assume that would scare him or make him upset. He's crate trained and fairly quiet. If he gets lonely, he may howl a little bit, but he doesn't do that often. He responds well when you tell him to stop. He gets along great with other dogs. Beethoven loves treats--so much that he's not always gentle when taking them. We're working on it. As a result, you should definitely be careful if you have small children giving him treats--he just gets so excited to be given a treat that he grabs it quickly and forcefully. He does pretty well on a leash. He also is a marker, so definitely keep an eye on him the first few days in your house. We're working on it, but he's getting there!  show less
