Anastasia came into our care from a trapping project in February. She was about 6 months old at the time and obviously very scared but showed a lot of potential for coming around to be a housecat. She's shy but not hissy and could really benefit from one-on-one interaction. All it takes is a small bedroom or bathroom to stay in for a little while with someone who can come in and give her positive interaction regularly--e.g., slow approach, talking to while feeding and changing water, offering petting, rewarding for being a good girl with special treats, and playing with her until she becomes more comfortable around people. We feel sure with time and love, Anastasia can find a wonderful home instead of being returned to the trapping site. It would absolutely break our heart to do that without at least trying, yet all of our current socializers already have other kittens. For anyone wanting to help that is unable to make the long-term commitment to adopt, fostering is a fun and very helpful way to contribute. Please reach out and let us know if you can foster Anastasia or either of the other kittens who were trapped--Ellis, an all-black male (possibly Anastasia's brother), or Autumn 2, a beautiful tortie who was living in a garbage dump. Arizona came from an independent rescuer that had saved her from a life of becoming an outdoor cat.  Because she was nurtured, Arizona is friendlly and attentive to humans.  She has a great personality and seeks out attention and interaction.   She likes other cats too.  She would probably be perfect with children and although she has never been around a dog, she probably would do just fine as she has a curious, adventurous personality.  She would be the perfect pet for so many people.  She has been spayed, chipped, and she is up to date on all her shots.  She is ready to go! show less

A concerned citizen contacted us about a stray cat and her two kittens living in filth and squalor in a garbage dump. Her husband had been trying to help by feeding the cats but the situation was not sustainable. We were able to trap all three. The Mom is feral. :-( The other kitten, Summer, has already been placed. Autumn 2 is taking a little longer to warm up and was not quite ready when we listed her as Available a few months ago but had to take her down because she wasn't ready. And truthfully, she's still a little hissy. Which is why we feel like a foster home would be ideal for her. If you don't necessarily want to take on the commitment of adopting a cat but would love to play with and interact with a young, beautiful cat to help it blossom into a beautiful companion animal ready for a forever home, then Autumn 2 might be for you. She is fixed, vetted, and microchipped. P.S. If you think she might be too old for you to be successful with that, we have two 7-month-old kittens from a different trapping location that might be more to your liking. show less

Bits is lovable and seeks out attention often.  He does not like being held for too long but he's always happy to hang out with you as long as you don't pick him up or expect him to curl up in your lap. And he loves to be petted! He hasn't been feeling his best lately. He has runny eyes, and a chronically irritated anus. We think it's allergies but have no easy way to run food trials in our environment. So we're looking for a quiet foster home for Bits to see if his health can be better managed that way. You supply the love, food, and litter--we supply the medical support. show less
