Ajax is a 2 year old, 61 lb Labrador Retriever mix. He is a nice fun boy who loves toys and tug of war. (drops when told). He enjoys being in your lap but is content laying at your feet chewing his bone. He "talks" while he is playing with you. He loves toys and especially "catch me if you can". He is a smart boy and knows sit, down, and paw and is very focused.  While Ajax loves people, he is not a fan of other dogs and should be the only dog in the home. PENDING ADOPTION Annie is such a sweetheart. She is a6 year old, 64 lb Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Mix. Her owners turned her into a shelter in WV, telling the shelter that she did not get along well with the other dogs in her home. She has, however done well in dog to dog introductions that the shelter conducted and had been ok around cats at the shelter. She warms up to new people with proper introductions and patience. Annie will require a patient, strong person to help her adjust to life in a home. We are also told that she is housetrained. She would be a great companion for someone looking to add a loving large dog who thinks she is a lap dog to their family! PAW places animals in the Washington DC Metropolitan area only. show less

Brock is a 3 year old, 28 lb., Field Spaniel mix.   He is a very affectionate little boy with a strong willingness to please.  He likes a daily walks and is crate trained.   He likes to cuddle on the furniture and doesn't like it if you remove him. He enjoys car rides and will ride beside you in the front seat if you will let him. When walking he is very curious, but when other animals approach he listens well to ignore them with a quick command.  Although he likes the outdoors, he prefers to be with his person if he knows you're home.  Overall he has a great disposition and listens well, he needs daily exercise by his person in way of walks to stay satisfied.  A yard setting is suitable temporarily until he can take his daily walk by leash.  show less

Caboodle is a very affectionate, friendly female kitten born about September 2020. She and her brother Kit are both black and white with medium hair. Caboodle loves to play and she especially enjoys being with her humans for pets and snuggles. She's been introduced to a well-behaved dog and reacted without too much drama. At 4 months of age, Caboodle tested positive for FIV and negative for FELV. Kittens who test postive for FIV under 6 months very frequently test negative after 6 months because they were exposed to the virus through their mothers milk and have have antibodies from their mother. Even if Caboodle tests positive for FIV at 6 months of age, this only means that she may have a weaker immune system than FIV negative cats - many FIV+ cats live just as long as FIV- cats. FIV is NOT transmittable to humans, and only transmissible to cats via deep bite. For more information about FIV, please read "What You Should Know When Adopting a FIV+ Cat" . If you have specific questions, please contact Heather, PAW cat coordinator. Caboodle is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and ready to find her forever home! She has just arrived from Puerto Rico with her friend Danny.
