About Abbie
Meet Abbie! She is a female chocolate Labrador Retriever approximately seven-months-old! Abbie loves to meet other dogs and play with her toys. She is learning how to fetch and figuring out to drop the ball.
Abbie is a smart girl and is treat motivated, making training easy. She has learned to sit, shake and stay but will need to have obedience training right away. She is a typical puppy who will test the boundaries.
Abbie is in her chewing stage, and nothing is off-limits to her. She will try to get a hold of whatever is available. Her new family must work at not leaving anything around for her except approved toys.
Abbie also doesn't like to be left alone for long periods. If she has to be left, her family needs to crate her and give her something to occupy her time. A frozen Kong filled with treats or a Nylabone will help.
Abbie is fostered with a couple of teenagers, and she loves when they play with her. A family with children over the age of 10 and another young pup would be great for Abbie.
Abbie loves to greet her foster family when they come home. They call her a Wiggle Worm because of how hard her tail wags. Abbie is working on being crate trained and is housebroken. However, any dog can have an accident when first learning about their new family's schedule. Abbie is not a big fan of cats; therefore, we will not place her in a home with them.
Abbie has all the traits you expect from a young puppy. Her new family will need to "puppy-proof" the house. All trash must be in locked containers, and nothing left out that could potentially cause harm, such as food, medicine, candy, socks, shoes. Abbie's new family must show patience while she is adjusting and being trained.
She loves being around people and showing love, and give kisses.
Abbie is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
If you are interested in Abbie and have already been approved to adopt, please send an email to ADOPT@WCLRR.ORG and put "ABBIE" in the subject line explaining why she is an excellent fit for your family.

You may have a considerable wait time after applying and having your home interview. Neither one guarantees you will receive a dog.
