About Boop
Boop is looking for a very special foster home, better yet if that home was interested in adopting her if all goes well.
Boop was rescued from a breeder is about 8 years old. She is a Chinese Shar Pei. She has never lived in a house, so a lot is fearful to her right now. She is completely housebroke. She walks pretty good on leash. She is kennel trained. She is slowly learning the comforts of home and will crawl up on the couch or relax in the dog bed on occasion. But she does a lot of pacing. She has been in a home for about 2 weeks now, and her pacing is getting less and less. She just has no idea about any of the sights and sounds around her. She likes kids, but kids 10+ are recommended because sudden movements scare her. She doesn't mind getting petted, and seems to prefer her head being pet over her body (guessing someone reached their hand over a fence and petted her head her whole life, but not her body?)
Boop does fine co-existing with dog 99% of the time, but then she gets anxious or something and has gone after the dogs she is living with a few times. She does not seem to gain confidence from other dogs the way many under socialized dogs do—so we think she would be fine as an only dog.
She needs a home where she can be an only pet, and the foster will be kind and patient with her, but also gently push her limits. The current foster family has been using some techniques that have definitely helped to allow her to be more comfortable around people, but she still has a long way to go.
If you are interested in fostering this sweetie—or possibly adopting her when she is good to go—please PM us.
